Dreamcatcher are the dark Queens of kpop! As far as genre goes, Dreamcatcher’s discography is all over the place but 1000% fire! Dreamcatcher NEVER miss!

@@mokhamadfachri2643 honestly I like pretty much all their songs because even though they might incorporate 'typical' genres, they don't sound typical. but this might be my least favorite of their b-sides. I'm more a dc og, so prefer their rock stuff. I know a lot of their newer fans like the edm influences they mixed in more recently.

sometimes I might be on the fence on first listen for some of their songs but if anything those are the ones I tend to like the most - the ones that grow on you with each listen instead of ones that hit hard on first listen and then get repetitive. like wind blows grew on me hard, definitely top 10 dc song for me.
@@ivyshy98 yeah, New Days was an instant success with me, but Wind Blows grew on me a lot, wasn't very into it at first. This album sort of missed, I like the songs but it felt below average for a DC album. BEcause is a banger, Whistle is the best B-side, A Heart of Sunflower is a cool ballad, Alldaylong sadly didn't make me feel much and I'd rank Airplane last. I'm glad I've read that some people really enjoy it though!
Most underated talented female group. They are really unique. And their MVs really beautifull aesthetically I'LL recommend "scream" and "Bocca". You will definitely be hooked .

They should at least have 30 millions views in 24 hours and at least one win by now. They really deserve it. They are unique, talented. They give us fantastic MVs, songs, performances and vocals every single time. They are so much better than some groups who are less talented, less creative but more popular for others reasons. Dreamcatcher is maybe underappreciated but they are known. They are doing great and gaining more popularity every comeback. They shouldn't be know as a underrated group anymore.

The MV backstory is doppelgängers and is inspired by the movie US. The beginning frame and the ending frame you see them in different outfits which means they’ve all be replaced.
My theory for this MV, red hair is Gahyeon and she’s the main character of the MV. She has a cage at the beginning is just a representation of her not being trapped and she knows what’s going on. Jiu is possibly the hotel receptionist/controller and is playing the puppeteer part. Near the end you see both Jiu and Gahyeon running means she’s been caught and at the end Gahyeon could not escape and capture to the underground with the rest of the real Dreamcatcher girls. The mirror also plays a role part in the MV, after Sua’s rap, the background now has a mirrored image of the carousel but there you see the girls are split in red outfit and white outfits BUT the hotel reception Jiu is not there.
The hand handing out the apple from the mirror is also representing the doppelgängers have lure or trick the girls then all of these fake Dreamcatcher got released from the mirror world and took down the real Dreamcatcher. In one scene Handong shows a portion of her legs and got dragged in to to the underground world and the doppelgänger replaced her at that point.
On to the song title itself BEcause is a play on word. BE is sadness in Chinese Bēi/悲 and breaking that character a part is 非/fēi/negative or no. 心/xīn/heart so combining all of that it could means it is sadness because the love is negative.
Jiu the leader explained the meaning of the song is you love someone too much and it becomes obsession and wanting to own that person which it can be sadness.
In the beginning, Yoohyeon is pushing a rack with the original them's clothes, so I think they're the doppelgangers in both the beginning and the end (preparing for the originals' arrival in the beginning, spend the video capturing them, and in the end they've finished replacing them and are wearing the outfits of the originals).

Apparently the lyric "Every dog has his day" is an idiom essentially meaning, everyone will have good luck at some point in their life. So nope, it's not a threat :)

Here, the Doppelganger Dami boasts about her "catch". She also says: "It's creepy. That's right!"
Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
They are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done.
About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. One commenter noted that if you look at "BE" as a Korean written character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That commenter is Jad Hamizan and he deserves all the credit for noticing that.
The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "You turn blue, blue. Your face is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. In any case, Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.
My dude, if you love rock fusion, then you have found the single best group on the planet for you. Literally nobody else sounds like Dreamcatcher, nobody does the dark horror/fantasy concepts like them, and they execute everything at the absolute highest level of skill. Have fun diving face-first down the rabbit hole that is their entire discography. The genre range in their B-sides will astound you. Then go watch all the content from insomnicsy, who is basically the #1 Dreamcatcher fan content creator on youtube. The entire group is as wacky as they are talented, I love them to death.
hi omg welcome!! i heard the choreographer was inspired by the horror movie 'US' so i think the basic plot of the mv is that they're kidnapped and/or replaced by their doppelgangers. the BE in because is also apparently the korean pronunciation of a chinese character meaning 'sadness' which ties in with how the song is about a playful love that turns into something more obsessive, beginning to feel as though they'll be sad if they can't live with or have this person ... (i hope i'm not wrong!)
also i think the translation for 'i turn the air blue' can also be 'you turn blue, blue' (asphyxiation?)
Dreamcatcher is a 7 member girl group, as you can see in the MV. The members are:
JiU - The receptionist, black hair and very very sweet voice. She’s the leader of the group
Gahyeon - The one with the cage, red hair. She’s also the maknae
Handong - the blond one with long hair. She’s Chinese, the only foreign member
SuA - the one with the creepy masks
Dami - the rapper with a deep voice
Yoohyeon - blond girl with short hair
Siyeon - the one in the weird room with chains, she also sings the first part of the bridge
The girls in reallife are vocal powerhouse (their main rapper and dancer can hit highnote like it is no one’s business Shadow-slow ver) and they are hilarious,huge dorks they’re very blunt and don’t really try to hide their personality they literally gave culture shock to many variety show hosts who have host for more very cutesy feminine girl groups for years and years and then DC girls just goes in with their chaos selves its super funny
I love Dreamcatcher's music. Their producers are awesome, and their lyrics are always dark, melancholic and playful, which I love. If you watch some of their variety and behind the scenes content you will also realize the girls are super real. I wanna be friends with them xD

I really hope you do a deep dive into Dreamcatcher. There are 2 ways to watch their MVs...either chronologically (release date wise) or following the story thread in their MV wise. im sure inSomnias out here will be more than willing to help come out with a list
Yup most of their title tracks are Rock oriented, infused with Kpop and electronic. Sometimes more rock, less rock or evenly mixed. Their B-sides are more varied.
I would like you to recommend a video "A History of Dreamcatcher: Dodging Disbandment and other extreme Sports" Thought they don't get into each member but explain their journey as a group, so maybe you should react to it after a member guid but these girls are really talented. Not only are their Songs, Albums and MV good but they also provide us InSomnia (Fandom name) with funny content such as filming little drama skitts and so on. They also have storylines in their MVs just like BTS. If you have any questions just ask. :D

woo, welcome to the black hole that is Dreamcatcher and InSomnia! All of their Title Tracks have some element of rock mixed with another genre (their b-sides vary wildly from emotional ballads to jazz to r&b to edm and they all bang!)

I highly suggest doing an album reaction to their album “Dystopia: The Tree of Language”. Their have to most diverse discography. Everything from rock, edm, funk, jazz, r&b, ballads. That album actually has 4 different videos that go with it: Scream, Black or White, Red Sun, and Sahara. There is also a live version of “Jazz Bar”

Since you seem really interested in Dami's vocals (the rapper), a few songs where she really pops off are Red Sun, Boca (which is the middle of the Dystopia trilogy with Scream and Odd Eye), Black or White, and Breaking Out. She's also got a gorgeous singing voice like all the other vocalists and sings on the tracks Deja Vu and her special OST with Siyeon called "Shadow"! Definitely check out the lyric videos of both the original and slow versions.

Yooo welcome to the BEST K-pop group going!! Insanely talented with a crazy diverse discography. Vocals, dance, aesthetics...they're the whole package. If you like the rock/metal sound and spooky vibes, I strongly recommend checking out Odd Eye, PIRI, What, Endless Night, and Don't Light My Fire. But honestly, every single one of their songs is worth a listen. Dreamcatcher doesn't miss!

JiU is my bias but every comeback there's chaos amongst my list. Most of their title tracks are rock influenced but their bsides are across the board, pop, jazz, r&b etc. Versatile queens.
Their versatility not only shows on their b-sides but their covers and original solos. You will find these ladsies are extremely talented. Not just cuz I have been stanning since the beginning.

I think you'll like Break The Wall, New Days, Wind Blows, Tension, Scream and Wake Up for more rock sounding songs and are some of my favourites. I feel like Boca and Odd Eye aren't very rock and are softer than Scream, but still great title tracks. Some of the ones I recommended here are b-sides. :3 Good Night and Chase Me are pretty good, but I prefer later songs, personally. Then again, Dreamcatcher pretty much have done a good deal of genres and have absolutely knocked them out of the park. I feel like they just don't know how to make bad songs and I am totally not saying that just because they are my ult girl group. Lmao!

Fun fact the BE in because stands for the chinese character 悲 (bei) which means sadness so the lyrics can also be interpreted to mean sad because I love you. The dance move where they have their hands above their heads is meant to represent the character, which is really cool!

"BEcause" is a song from their Special Mini Album "Summer Holiday" which is a bit more 'bright' compered to their other albums.
They have a trilogy series of albums called 'Dystopia' and it has:

9:10 here we go, my bias is Yoohyeon, my favorite Dreamcatcher song is Jazz bar, but out of the title tracks it’s Scream.
They have 6 singles, 9 mini albums, and two albums. Out of them, 1 japanese single, 1 japanese mini album, 1 japanese album.
Well, there are 7 members, all adorable, all crackheads, all talented, all can sing,dance and rap, all visuals, all have great personalities.
- JiU ( pronounced: ji/You), she is the leader and the oldest. A fake maknae. Visual of the group. Thewalking sweetness. Her roles are lead dancer and leal vocalist. Here she is 1:42, here 2:21 and here 6:26
- SuA ( soo/A the beginning of apple), she is the second oldest, she is the main dancer, a sub-rapper, and a sub-vocalist. She is here 4:57, one who rapped here 5:52 and the center dancer here 6:02.
- Siyeon (she/ yeon like yog in yogurt), she is the main vocalist, she has amazing techniques. She sings powerfully like this 2:35, softly like this 4:50 angelically like this 5:29. Although this is her only role, she fully deserves it, and moreover, she can pull off any of the other roles so easily.
- Handong (han/dong), she is the Chinese member, she is a vocalist. She was stuck in china for most of 2020 due to c0vid, so she didn’t participate with the group during that time. Her angelic warm voice has got many fans and give dreamcatcher a nice unique touch, she is the one here 1:48, here 2:40 and here 5:22 and the one who sings here 5:40.
- Yoohyeon (you/ hyeon, imagine that yogurt has an H first, here we go), my bias, she is a lead vocalist, same as Siyeon, she can pull off any role. She usually sings choruses and ad-lips along with Siyeon. She is a crazy tiktoker. Likes to flirt. speaks the most English among the members. - Dami (daa/mi the D pronounced something between d/t), she is the most quiet member, however, sometimes she vibes with those crackheads. She is the main rapper, a lead dancer. She CAN sing. At first sight, it might seem that the song "BEcause" is about toxic/abusive relationships and destructive behavior out of love for a particular person, but it is not. The meaning is different, and it is much deeper.
Let's start with the fact that the very name "BEcause" can be interpreted as "The cause of sadness", because "BE" in Chinese is a hieroglyph meaning "sadness", and "cause" is an English word. This turns the whole view of the song.
The lyrics in essence about deception (primarily about self-deception) and being obsessed with someone. The MV and song contain the message that our worst enemy is none other than ourselves - the culprits of our sadness. It's not so much that Dreamcatcher was replaced by doubles at the end, but that their dark side, which eventually took over the other, is revealed as the true self as a result of a growing obsession with the obsessive desire to be loved, which pushes them into an endless cycle, where they simultaneously act as perpetrators and victims, as well as puppeteers and puppets.
The clip was inspired by the American movie "We" about evil doubles who decided to replace real people (you can see many references, including in the choreography itself). There, as in "BEcause", there are two colors - red and blue. Red represented doubles, while blue represented originals. In the Dreamcatcher clip, it will be the other way around. Red implies their real, while blue is their ideal version. Each time they pretended to be their ideal version (the hourglass symbolizes the temporary nature of pretense and deception), which to some extent brought them satisfaction, but actually played with them, which caused them pain, but since they were unable to resist the temptation (the dark side of Sua, holding out another an apple that she bites off), they continued to wear masks. They wanted to be always loved, and in fact it did not matter who, but with their obsession and creepy behavior, the girls only repulsed others even more. In the end, they reveal their true selves, with the naive hope that the loved one will nevertheless remain on their side. When their true self begins to manifest, some damage has already been done, and it will not be possible to escape from themselves and their sadness.

Dreamcatcher takes a lot of inspiration from J-Rock and J-Metal! They've got a really unique sound within the K-Pop genre thanks to that :D I started stanning them after I first heard Scream (which I absolutely recommend checking out!)
In case you want to dive into them more after this, Dreamcatcher has two storylines (connected title tracks), which would probably be better to listen to in order for the first time. The Nightmare Arc starting with their debut Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What, Piri (with alternate Japanese ending Breaking Out) and the Dystopia Arc (Scream, Boca, Odd Eye - based on the concept of 'hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil'). The rest of the MVs are standalones (really would recommend Endless Night for you, it's probably their purest rock track imo). If you want to go for softer vibes, R.o.S.e. BLUE and Deja Vu are probably it, with Eclipse as an actualfacts anime intro they did. Hope you check them out and like what you hear! The could always use more stans :D

Dreamcatcher is an unique 7 member girl group which debuted in 2017. I say unique because it is, as far as I know, the only K-pop group with rock/metal infused sounds consistently within *ALL* their title tracks. Their main title tracks are mostly story based with dark concept, connecting one song to another. They're also known for their synchronisation and hard hitting, visually satisfying choreographies.
A most K-pop groups usually mix various genres in their songs, Dreacmcatcher blends rock elements into them. It's their signature sound, but their B-sides are truly a huge variety of genres and experimental creativity.
Apart from their hugely talented main composers (Ollounder & Leez), their b-sides contain the creativity of the girls themselves who take part in the composing and writing of the songs too.

I've never watched one of your videos before but this was recommended to me so I decided to check it out. I made an assumption that you might like this style of music based on the hair and beard 😂. Sorry if that was wrong but since I thought you would like the song I wanted to see your reaction. I hope you'll check out more Dreamcatcher in the future. Like soooo many others have recommended before me, I strongly encourage you to look at their other videos. Pretty much every single video they've done has continued a story. All of their songs are really catchy. Dreamcatcher is actually the K-pop/K-rock group that got me to listen to K-pop in general (spotify recommended them for some reason). Previously, I stuck to only Indie Korean groups (Jaurim is my favorite). Recommend watching Piri, Scream, Boca, and Sahara (for some hilarious cuteness because it was self filmed by the band themselves during COVID lockdown). However, I get the feeling that you would greatly enjoy ALL of their previous videos, going all the way back to the original videos that began the continuous story. TL;DR: Dreamcatcher's video lore is DEEP.
