Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 They are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.

And i haven't even exaggarate them yet 🤭 They keep pushing to try new style outside their comfort zone every single time they release a new album,so diverse and creative n not afraid to take chances,in the end,their *comfort zone* are now pretty big 😂 This is the difference that i see from other groups,most of other groups basically just swim in the same pool with different style over n over again,there's not a lot of *creative freedom* for the artists,think it's all relied on the company itself,and that's where Dreamcatcher's Company really thrive,cos they give freedom for the girls to be creative and productive,and it really shows on the end product everytime ❤

Kpop is super diverse, sometime you can even listen to rock, latin, club, edm, county in one single song in one single genre which is kpop. Also, the whole creepy toxic vibe is link to the choreography where there is a scene of someone choking another, and the lyrics about "forever mine, even your breath" and then "your face blue...like an ocean view" kind of reflect someone being strangled until the fact turns blue etc. Also, the MV plot theme has another layer that borrowed quite a bit of plot elements from the horror movie "Us" by Jordan Peele where doppelgangers who were forced to live underground depraved of the "finer" things and are trying to are trying to take over their "privileged" above ground counterparts...won't go into much details as it would be better if you watch the movie yourself if you haven't). There are a lot of details in the MV that point to this such as the movie "Us" which has scenes depicting a hall of mirror, someone being captured and replaced, the carnival; similarly the choreography also uses the movie themes such as the doppelgangers holding hand in a chain, the slight side to side head tilts, ending pose of the center member which two hand on her face, mirrored choreography etc.. There are also a few easter eggs for the doppelgangers concept such as the MV is 3:13 minute long (coincidence? I think not) , and that the opening scene and ending scene has the members in completely different outfits (with the ending outfit more whimsical), as well as the completely drain symmetrical hourglass at the end indicating that at some point, the doppelgangers replaced their original counterpart. Here the Shadows (Doppelgangers) kill and replace the hotel guests and keep them in the Doll Yard as their dolls, to ease their own sadness. The capitalized BE has the same sound as the Chinese-Korean character for Sadness. BE + because = BEcause (of sadness - their MO for killing). The lyrics are all about obsession, sadness, murder and insanity. ("It's blue, blue. Your face is like the Ocean View"). All over the MV we watch the originals being mirrored by their evil doubles. In the end, the originals all disappear and become dolls (like in "Dollhouse"). Btw they're just the best🤧

They have dystopia trilogy, nightmare series & deja Vu which is a collaboration with a mobile game. Dystopia trilogy in order: Scream, BOCA, odd eye. Because is a special mini album cuz they're about to start a new storyline. It talks about someone who's in love & is obsessed with the other person.

*Quick guide* =>Members are: -Jiu (Leader of the group, lead singer) -Sua (main dancer, used to be main rapper in Minx) -Siyeon (main singer) -Yoohyeon (lead singer, but sing like a main 👀) -Handong (vocalist, is by the way Chinese) -Dami (main rapper, lead dancer too though I don't remember if it's an official thing) -Gahyeon (vocalist, lead rapper) PS: With Dreamcatcher, singer dance like dancers and dancers sing like singers so the roles sometimes means nothing because of Dreamcatcher's VERSATILITY ✨ =>Discography: All of their songs have a story in it, the first is the Nightmare era (filled with a lot of rock), the second that I recommend to new listeners is the second story which is the Dystopia era (rock + other sounds like edm and hip-hop). They are stand alone MV like this one. BEcause is a one-shot story, like Deja Vu and Rose Blue, but those two I just mentioned are also a collaboration. They've been around since 2017 so not ultra ultra new! Also 5 of the members were in a group previously who debuted in 2014 but after disbanding they redebuted as Dreamcatcher with the 2 added members so a fair number of them have been around for a good while

Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads.
BEcause is about Doppelgangers, It is based on the horror movies "Us" and "Dollhouse". Here the Shadows (Doppelgangers) kill and replace the hotel guests and keep them in the Doll Yard as their dolls, to ease their own sadness. The capitalized BE has the same sound as the Chinese-Korean character for Sadness. BE + because = BEcause (of sadness - their MO for killing). The lyrics are all about obsession, sadness, murder and insanity. ("It's blue, blue. Your face is like the Ocean View"). All over the MV we watch the originals being mirrored by their evil doubles. In the end, the originals all disappear and become dolls (like in "Dollhouse").

All of their songs have a story in it, the first is the Nightmare era (filled with a lot of rock), the second that I recommend to new listeners is the second story which is the Dystopia era (rock + other sounds like edm and hip-hop). They are stand alone MV like this one. BEcause is a one-shot story, like Deja Vu and Rose Blue, but those two I just mentioned are also a collaboration. There's is also Japanese releases!
=>The B-side:
No offense to others groups (since they generally put more effort in their titles tracks, which is not wrong and normal), but I think Dreamcatcher's B-side are one of the few that can straight out be title track and all their diversity are there, like you have everything even R&B, ballads, techno, jazz, metal, etc.
=>To conclude: Even if you don't like rock or "creepy things", Dreamcatcher is so versatile you will find at least one song that you'll like plus the girls are clown and comedians so you'll love them too ;)

They've been around since 2017 so not ultra ultra new! Also 5 of the members were in a group previously who debuted in 2014 but after disbanding they redebuted as Dreamcatcher with the 2 added members so a fair number of them have been around for a good while
