Oxytocin is a peptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary.
Indication - stimulating uterine contractions and in lactation by promoting milk ejection.
Contraindication - Hypersensitivity, cord prolapse, placenta previa, surgery of uterus.
side effects including uterine overstimulation and fluid retention.
