I'm sorry you had to go through this. I too had a ruptured appendix. I was home for 9 days before I went to the hospital. After 2 days of not being able to find what was wrong they did exploratory surgery and found it had burst. They couldn't believe I loved through it.
Bless you, thanks for the video.

@Michael-gu5kl I'm glad you received help!!!
I was past trouble. Plus they didn't believe it was my appendix so they waited an additional 2 days after I was in the hospital. Once, the surgeon was examining my abdomen and I told him it hurt every time he touched me. His words were "it can't hurt everywhere." Boy was he wrong!!!

You must have some bad ass insurance, that room was nice! I just had my appendix out a couple weeks ago and let me tell you, I've NEVER been in as much pain as I was that first night before I went to the ER. I've had open heart surgery and it hurt less!

Probably the most terrifying thing about this situation was the fact that I had just graduated and was in between jobs, so I didn't have insurance when it happened! Mine had ruptured and I was in severe pain…they kept asking if I had already had my appendix removed because they couldn’t
find it on the ultrasound …it hurt so bad that if they touched me, I’d go crazy and push them away from touching me. I started vomiting green substance and the next morning, they removed it. Worst pain I’ve ever had , and a lot worst than having a baby! As a matter of fact, I just had my last son when two months later the appendix ruptured. I couldn’t walk…had to crawl to my middle sons room to get help when I woke with severe pain that kept getting worse and worse as I laid in bed. It was a very scary experience. I’m glad we only have one of those suckers! 🤪🥹

I just had my appendix removed and I went to the ER barely being able to walk. I had abdomen pain and felt like my groin was being squeezed and felt I was holding my urine for a really long time. The Doc checked me for a torsion, hernia, and kidney stones, was cleared on all of those and Doc said I was fine and sent me on my way. 6 months later after losing weight, vomiting off and on and more abdominal pain, I returned to the ER. After blood work and CT scan I had a serious infection and my appendix was ready to Burst (again). A 45 minute surgery turned into 3 hours because it was way worse than they had thought. A look back back at that first ER visiting my appendix had ruptured and they missed it. The surgeon that did my surgery was surprised by the scar tissue that had healed over the first rupture and that I had endured this for over six months

Had surgery 11 hrs later. It turned out my appendix was necrotic. Ended up back in the ER 9 days later, where they at first thought I had intussusception, but it turns out I have persistent lipomatous hypertrophy of the ileocecal valve. In US in the military. Was having stomach pains, no appetite. Going to on base Sick Call. Told it was gas. Then indigestion. Then heartburn. As an instructor I fainted giving students instructions. Taken by ambulance to military base emergency room. An older officer medical Dr. hit my right boot with his fist. Diagnosis "hot appendicitis." Getting cut out of my military fatigues straight to surgery. Diagnosis, "perforated appendix." Open surgery, spent 5 days in hospital on antibiotics. I asked if I could be discharged from hospital, as my birthday was in 2 days, and I didn't want to be in hospital on my birthday. Surgical Dr. said. "If you can stand upright and walk down hall and back, I'll discharge you." I grit my teeth, stood upright, and did it. I got released. The next morning woke up, bed covered in blood. Called my neighbor, fellow military friend of mine to go to military ER. Internal stitches had failed. Had to have external clamps removed and restitched internally. NO anesthesia or pain medicines. A roll of gauze in mouth to bite on. This is a true story.

I can see that every surgery is different for each person, therefore the stories differ. The surgery in itself is very quick and painless because of anesthesia.
I came a bit late with a huge pain in my stomach, couldn't even walk straight or breathe properly. Had to wait overnight in the hospital, I assume because of many patients. In the early morning, they took me into the surgery room, I was shivering from pain so they immediately put me under anesthesia and performed the operation. Sadly, my appendix burst while operating, therefore I had complications. Couldn't walk properly for around 2 weeks. Couldn't eat or drink anything for around a week (whatever I ate or drank vomited out a few minutes after). So I always had an IV bag to hydrate my body. I tried eating every day to make my stomach work. I remember the feeling when I finally felt a gurgling in my stomach and immediately understood that it started working. I tried walking in the hospital's hallways while holding onto an IV bag stand to get better but it was painful, couldn't walk with a straight back. After 2 weeks in a hospital and a few days at home, I finally recovered and got the staples out.

I had my appendix rupture and mine was nothing like what you went through. I kind of had your symptoms when I first felt pain. I felt like I had a bad stomachache. I could not get comfortable what's so ever the first night. The next day I went through the chills and hot flashes like you. At about 7:30 that night, BAM, a terrible pain to my lower right abdomen. A pain that is indescribable. I immediately told my wife to take me to the ER. Once in the ER, I had told the Nurse that the pain was really bad and that I could not breath. She checked my oxygen levels and turned to another nurse and told her " Call triage now" They wheeled me to the back. They immediately starting drawing blood. Nurse comes back and said I had developed Sepsis, which at the time I did not know what that was. An EKG was also performed on me, an ultrasound and a CT scan. By this time Dr. gave me morphine for the pain. Not 10 min. after CT scan was done, Dr comes in and tells me with a panicked voice, " we have to go to the OR now!" They did laparoscopy surgery on me to remove my appendix. Dr. said that I had made it just in time. He said I had a really bad infection and a lot of pus inside. I ended up in the hospital for 7 days with tons of medication pumped into me. Long story short, I was basically on my death bed with two bad things, Sepsis and a ruptured appendix. I'm just glad that I'm still here to tell my story! I hope you're doing well yourself.

My was gangrene inside of me. It was early July 2016. I was in pain. I only had 2 hours of sleep. I even slept in my recliner for a couple hours. I had a hard time in getting up from my recliner. My mother came over to helped me. I went to the bathroom. I did changed my clothes. She did drove me to the ER that afternoon. Luckily that I only drank water. I didn’t ate anything. It was hot in early July. It was hard for me to walked. I had it removed that evening. The surgery was 3 hours for me being obese at that time. I woke up in the recovery room after surgery. I didn’t know where I was for a second. I felt a lot better after the surgery. I had PT after the surgery. I didn’t eat the following day. I was hooked up towards 3 things. It dropped down to 2 and to 1. I did have clear liquids one day. Solid liquids the following day. I did ate a big breakfast. It was too much to eat but, I did finished it. I ate lighter meals. I was in the hospital for almost 5 days. I still have a little bit of upset stomach and I ate lighter meals those couple days at my parents house. I even used a walker in the hospital because I was weak after the surgery. I was at both of my parents house till Thursday after going to the doctor. I had this device connected towards my right side of my belly. I even had shot in my belly after my stay at the hospital. I had a tiny pinch after the surgery. I had gauge with tape over the wound. It leaked out a little bit. I kept changing it a whole lot. I even had a lot of staples on my belly. I was bored at home and I went to the Y just after 2 weeks after surgery to do my cycling class. I did a lighter ride on my cycling class. It was for a half hour which was good for me. I tried it in the life style center on a different bike and I didn’t felt good so I got off. I went to cycling class and my incision had leaked a little bit when I was on a bike for 5 minutes. My instructor had sent me home because of it. I didn’t go over the weekend. I had another appointment with the doctor to removed the rest of the staples. I didn’t go to my cycling class on Monday mornings till early August. I even did my other class but, I started out very light in early August. I still have the big scar and the tiny one above my belly button. I used to have another one but, that one had disappeared. Another person had his removed shortly after mine was removed. Later on another person has his removed because it exploded and had taken some medication for it. My doctor thought that I wouldn’t do anything for a while. I did bounce back quickly shortly after. I was able to drive my car that one Friday towards both of my parents house. My mother was able to give up her bedroom for me those 4 days. I have a walker for me for walking around just in case. I didn’t really need it when I walked inside of a McDonald’s for a diet soda to drink after using the restroom. She even bought the walker for me. I didn’t used after having my appendix removed. I wanted my father to used it. He never did. I did used it when I sprained my right ankle very badly in a fall on October 19,2017. It was a short recovery time for me. I even did joked around with the nurses at the hospital after the surgery. I still remembered one nurse’s name from my stayed. I saw her when my father was in the hospital and said hi and even talked to her for a little bit, too. Even another gal when she did PT for me after the surgery, too.

Did not have any of the classic symptoms, so I thought it was heartburn. The pain was so horrible I went to the ER where they discovered it was ruptured & was septic. Hospital was not equipped to handle this critical case & was trauma hawk 2 hrs away. 7 days in the hospital treating septic & had drain bag put in. Month later removed remainder appendix. Have you experienced unusual conditions? My gallbladder flair up & re hospitalized. Lymph nodes fair up, bloodwork normal, but seems like there might still be micro bacterial trying to seep out through lymph nodes. Anyone else experiencing the same?

I’m so sorry this happened - I had a similar situation when I had an appendicitis. It was the day before going to sleep away camp so that god it didn’t die out in the middle of the woods 😅I definetly felt like something was wrong because I was just struggling to walk around. So I went to the ER and I waited 3 hours for scanning and at 12 at night they told me I had to immediately go to this specialist doctor an hour away to go into emergency surgery. I was terrified but it was all worth it in the end when the appendix was taken out (because now there wouldn’t be any panic). The moral of the story is this stuff sucks.

Came home thought i had to go to the bathroom . Told my mom i was not feeling well i was gonna take tylenol. And then got bad pain my mom came out of her room i was in my living floor crying she she said you are going to the hospital . Went to the local hospital it was not gonna be a four wait . so we left got my son from school and went to urgent care they did a CT scan come back and said we are shipping you to a bigger hospital you have to have ememergy surgery. And i was alone and scared by my self stayed there for a couple days. Then came home and had to go back to the hospital because i had allergic reaction from the meds but we finally got it taking care of i am feeling a lot better . SO MINE WAS PAIN IN STOMACH AND LOWER RIGHT SIDE BACK....

I recently got my appendix removed. on 4th of July, I got off work and had some Wendy’s an hour later, I had bad cramps in my abdomen all over. I thought at first maybe I was bloated from eating too fast. I went in to the hospital because the pain was so bad. it hurt to the point where even if I moved or not it still hurt. I went to the hospital. they did some blood tests and gave me a urine sample. then I got a CT scan and they said my appendix was inflamed and I needed surgery. I feel better now since it’s been removed. I was able to go home on the same day I had surgery. I’m still in pain from the surgery, but I’m slowly getting better.

My Appendix has been removed on April 27th 2024. I was 26 years old when this happened.
This all started on late April 26. It was still the early evening and I was in my room watching TV after finishing eating dinner and suddenly my stomach was in a lot of pain. I thought I was passing gas but it didn’t go away. It felt like my insides were going crazy. I was tossing and turning all over the bed I was bending down and couldn’t sit up straight. I went down to my parents and they seen me that I was in a lot of pain and I was sweating to and a little nauseous. My mom thinks my Appendix is starting to rupture. She had hers removed a long time ago when she was in high school. So she took me to the E.R and I explained it to them that I was having abdominal pain. So they did some tests on me throughout the night. They gave me an antibiotic for the pain. Then they took some blood and scanned me and they noticed my Appendix was swelling up. They said I needed surgery soon or it could burst. Then they transfer me to another hospital to do the surgery by another great doctor they know. So I ended up staying at the other hospital for the rest of the night. My mom stayed with me to keep me company. The next morning they explained to me on what the surgery they will do on me and I met the surgeon who will be doing surgery on me. I was little nervous but I wanted this pain to stop. After the surgery I wake up in the recovery room and they said everything went OK and I would make a full recovery in Two weeks. Once everything was over my family took me home on that same day after my surgery. Now it’s been 5 months later I’m 27 years old now and I’m doing great.

The same day at night time, as i was about to stand up i suddenly felt pain in my lower right abdomen, so, i did a bit of research on youtube about the sudden pain and found out i had similar symptoms of appendicitis like constipation, nausea, lack of appetite, getting cold at night, and lastly pain in my lower right abdomen. The next day(today) the pain on my lower right abdomen disappeared and i finally had appetite to have lunch after skipping dinner last night and today's breakfast. Some time later i felt pain in my stomach again but this time it's on the left side of my stomach near my belly button, it did only last for a few minutes. Right now i feel a litte sore on the lower right side, i think? I just wanted to hear your thoughts and opinion on this. I am kind of scared to tell my parents about this. Well that was a breeze for you, compared to my story. I was in Mexico without insurance, not a good place to end up as a westerner with that.
I started vomiting from 11Am till 5pm, I had nobody who could come to me and the pain started half way through that day. A friend finally came to me and we went to several hospitals, none were equipped to take care of it. It took till 4am at night to find a hospital, then they dumped me on the floor in the hall of said hospital for 8 hours while there were plenty of beds, they did not care one bit, I had to wait my turn...
I went into operation at 2PM, by that time I lost consciousness, so it took 28 hours to get operated from the moment it started. ..I woke up with my appendix in front of me in a cup , the size of a golfball with smaller balls attached to it, they treated me worse then a stray dog, they had taken my blanket and they bullied me non stop, they left me laying in my fluids, no help , nothing, I have been deprived of food and water for three days by those barbaric people, I wanted to kill myself as i went completely delirious, no joke!
I had to make my own bed and clean the fluids of the floor next to it so I would not slip as the cleaning lady skipped my bed just for being a foreigner (they think we are all rich), So I did it myself with my sheets and threw it at them (this was only hours post operation, I was furious, I had no time to sleep or recover, it was so cold in there I shivered through those three days, they purposfully put the IV wrong so it would fall out and scream at me for pulling it out, which I did not ...I had so much fluid running out which I had to hold with toilet paper as they refused to clean the wound with a proper plaster bag for fluids. My appendix did not burst but i did get sepsis after that. Now I know why the Mexican patients all have a family member next to their bed 24/7
When I tried to file a complaint , it turned out to be the same woman who took my blanket (which my friend left for me when going into the hospital). She lived far away from there so she could not visitor stay as she was exhausted and had animals to take care of including my two rescue cats.
They literally kicked me out of the hospital after 3 days without any papers, accept for the cup with my appendix in it, and fluid was still running out of the wound when they did (cups full of it), which I held together with whatever I could find. Someone from the village where I lived at the time picked me up and brought me home and there the western expats all came to my rescue (better late than never) and cared for me for weeks after that. It is a miracle I survived it.
The village doctor took care of the sepsis, I had such a high fever it was insane. I couldn't eat properly for weeks after that and returned back to Europe as soon I could.
It's been a year this month. I am still in the process of gaining weight after that trauma, I lost about 30 pounds.
I had severe PTSD after that and had to give up my rescue cats even if I brought them to Europe with me. I was psycologically such a mess, I needed to work on my health, I found them a home 6 weeks ago and have been on the mend since...gaining weight now slowly and calmed down a lot. The giant scar is ugly and there is a second scar, till this day i have no report on what they did during that operation. I will never forget that experience for the rest of my life

He let me know when they started to give me the anesthesia (mine was through my IV) and then they gave me this really comfy heated blanket. It was so warm and cozy. I remember slowly feeling really sleepy and then next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room! @@Tiki_Tee_ unacceptable! Please remember to advocate for yourself whenever talking to a doctor or medical professional. If you have a medical emergency or medical concern, don’t be afraid to read medical journals and find out about possible complications, and treatments. Medical journals I’ve read that talk about appendicitis state that surgical intervention is needed right away. I would’ve told the doctor to shove his “medical” plan up where the sun don’t shine and to prep me for surgery right away or to get me to a doctor that could or else I would sue him directly for malpractice. A major complication from appendicitis is sepsis and it’s NO joke…bacteria gets into your blood stream and it’s deadly within a few days. The issue with sepsis is that antibiotics don’t often work. “Doctors” these days blow my mind with how ignorant they can be. 😣
