They must have upgraded the toy grenades in 1969. As I remember my grenades had the cap on the bottom and it used the red roll caps tap. You put the cap on the bottom and threw it on the ground causing the cap to go off. I remember you couldn't throw it very far because it had to land straight so the bottom made contact.
I love old toys like this when I was a kid my dad gave me all his old toy guns and I think there was 3 of these in the box of guns but sadly when we moved house once the scumbags who worked for the moving company stole some of our boxes of stuff and all my of my awesome old toys went away just like that
Hey maybe this is why so many Vietnam Vets had problems with shell shock and PTSD you come home from work you're trying to relax and then your kid walks in the living room and throws one of these at you
The metal parts for this were made in our factory in Hillside NJ. Needless to say...I had plenty of these things when I was a kid. That's when things were Made In America.
Andrew Hines I remember one of the toy guns my dad gave me it from when he was a kid back in the 60s and 70s it was a toy Ma deuce full metal, belt fed the works it was by far my favourite toy gun as a kid I would set up a little machine gun nest and have gun battles with the the other kids on my street I also think I had a few of these grenades which were also given to me by my dad all of which along with many other cool old toy guns provided many fun memories but were all stolen when we moved house once

I love these old 1960s,70s military toys! Those were good! Now it's just fidget spinner crap!
I have the actual package it came in got it from garage sale. I need that grenade to complete it.

very good
I used to have one very similar to this back in the 80s but you loaded it with roll caps
Try marketing one of these today in our PC world .
I think it would actually do pretty good, despite the safe space parents kids would love it

hi
Isn't the point of a grenade, that it goes off AFTER you throw it? Not a very realistic toy.
its a replica of a trainer grenade, trainer grenades make a loud pop so the trainers know a grenade has been thrown or activated.
