Just came across this song... definitely my favourite of VW's songs! Hilarious! I love the fact that as soon as she says "hanker" we all completely get it and break down in laughter... I was nearly crying!
Absolutely heartbroken, only two days ago I had all her songs on full blast, singing along with her and crying with laughter. Such a shame, what an amazing talent. We will miss you, Victoria.
I've just read through nearly 400 comments, and didn't get to _any_ negative ones until very near the end. Most show how much she was loved, and an awful lot express sadness that she was taken from us so young.
Look at her face at 1:09 after dropping 2 racial slurs in her first 2 lines- she was a comic genius! The reason people get in trouble for 'non-PC' jokes isn't because we're all too sensitive- it's because it's incredibly hard to do well, and lazy comedians try to get the shock value without earning it with an intelligent payoff. What a legend.
Spot on, she says words you just can't say in a completely inoffensive way. Absolute genius, I saw her live probably late eighties and she must have performed solid for almost 3 hours, what a talent.
I have to say the first time i heard this, I did a double take at that first line, but it's completely meant in a non-offensive way. Such a terrific song. And yes, I love the word "wanker" too. :)
Couldn't believe the news when i heard Victoria Wood passed away. So very sad, another legend gone too soon but definitely not forgotten. Her comedy and songs were legendary. We will miss you. R.I.P. Victoria Wood.
My heroine since I was a kid! Recently sat near her on a train - was desperate to say how great she is, but managed not to so! - difficult self restraint!
I truly feel that I have lost a member of my family, I've not ever felt like this before over the death of someone I have not even met..........I suppose that is the true definition of a star...........
I feel exactly the same way! I heard the news of her passing on the day she died, I was so sad I couldn't stop crying! (She's my favourite comedian) When I woke up the day after I just wanted to stay in bed because I was so upset! (Yes you might think that's sad) 62years of age and no one knew she was ill… I just can't get over the fact that she's died! Been watching her sketches and comedy ever since I found them, and will continue to do so… only now it will be bittersweet knowing she's no longer shining her light in this world, but another one instead, and that we only have the fantastic comedy and hilarious memories left :( 💔 xx
+Child0 Music xx1 Thank you for sharing that. i thought i might have been going slightly mad but ive been having a hard time coming to terms with her death and i never met the woman! im still able to get on with my life, nothing has changed except that one of the greatest comedians of all time has passed away. I was very very lucky to get to meet such a wonderful woman and she treated averyone with such respect and normality it amazed us all x I still cannot get over her passing at all x

This is wonderful. Never seen it before, can't imagine it'll get past the bed wetting censors now😂That speccy four eyes gag went VERY under appreciated by the audience! My sister was a huge VW fan and got to meet her. Don't think this is PG enough for her though... 😂😂😂

The ordinary being extraordinary.
I love how the biggest laughs come when it becomes obvious what the rhyming word will be rather than when she says it. Bit of comedy magic there.
Followed by a cheeky grin. :)
Wait for audience to catch on, pause, grin cheekily and carry on :p

This is quite simply a spectacularly well-written song. She was an immense talent.
