    The hardest part for me has been going from Mid Major such as Saint Mary’s or New Mexico State to getting to coach at a power conference such as PAC 12 or SEC. Do you need to make a Final four ?

    • @imaynor
      @imaynor  Год назад +5

      There are multiple factors at play when making this jump. The biggest thing is that the CPU hires coaches primarily based on their overall rating as a coach. Typically the CPU at power conferences wants to hire coaches with an overall of A-. The fastest way to get this overall is to compete the legacy goals like sign a world recruit, 200 wins, etc. There are still two factors tht impact ability to get one of these jobs. First is gonna be performance. So let’s say Duke just came open and you have an A-. If there are multiple coaches with an A- wanting the job the one who performed the best recently will get the job. So if you missed the tournament and a CPU coach made the sweet 16 he’s getting picked over you. Lastly is availability. The CPU really doesn’t fire coaches at the power conference level. If they do it’s at one of the worst teams you don’t want to take the job for. Me myself I have mitigated this by editing the coach ages on my roster to line their retirement up with when they left a team. For example I have the Florida coach’s age, Billy Donovan, setup for him to retire around 2015, otherwise Florida isn’t available until like 2035. Hope this helps.

    Do you have any knowledge on the offensive playbooks for sure? I’m not at home right now to test the options. Like is box dribble drive or is that your opinion? Do the guys actually play different or to the style of the playbook? I want to test out that Princeton playbook as well to see if they actually run those concepts. Thanks for the video, good stuff in here

    • @imaynor
      @imaynor  10 месяцев назад +2

      I’m going to say I don’t know for sure because I don’t have a source or my own data, so this is completely anecdotal and based off my experiences but this is how I use the playbooks based on my rosters
      Box- put it on the floor driving players so handles with good inside scoring particularly at PG
      Princeton- guys cutting to the basket, has workers for more up tempo offenses
      UCLA High Post- if I have a skilled Center like Walton/Kareem/Jokic as the star
      Flex- multi guard starting lineup that includes at least two PGs/CGs
      4 Out- small ball
      Stack- haven’t figured this out I tried it with big lineups and shooting lineups but saw nothing significant either way
      Motion- I honestly just us this if I don’t know what to pick

    • @imaynor
      @imaynor  6 месяцев назад

      Sorry I wasn’t clear. I go ahead and offer my top targets and keep recruiting back up targets in case I can’t land my top targets. Right before the signing period ends I decide if I will land my top targets or not. If not I then offer my back up targets. You do have to grind your targets from the end of the in season signing period to the offseason recruiting because you never know what will happen with the CPU stealing your targets.
