Hi Jaw Tooth! Happy Saturday my friend! Great video! Yeah that blind curve looks dangerous. That runner wasn’t very smart doing that. Great train catches! Have a great weekend!
Just watched this with a 2 year old railfan. TRAIN! TRACK! LIGHT! Sometimes it just takes a simpler perspective to look at things. Flapping Rear End Device, the economy class FRED. Excellent video, we enjoyed it greatly. Thanks JT!
I hope you don't mind, Señor Jaws. But I've been inserting commas, semicolons, periods and the like into the description you write for the video. It helps me to possibly make sense of the 'what's upcoming'. So, for today, I got the Blind Railroad, outta Lockland, Ohio, is crossing there with a runner. Who knows why? I won't even go there. Too much thinking involved. Imagine my consternation then, if for example, you'd feature The Sees Better Railroad with its consist outta Seymour, Ohio crossing a bridge with a senior citizen using a walker. I may hafta even re-write that one to make sense of it. You're doin' an outstanding job, though. Gracias por tu video. RT sends, Puebla, México...
The train runs through a congested area for approximately 15 miles. There probably is a speed limit. Mueller is a roofing company here in Cincinnati,Ohio
Awesome Ohio show once again. Highlight was that train meet @10:37...everything about it was "just right". Love that classic "summer" sky in the background...you can "feel" the heat and humidity as the two rains strode by...right out of the ("black-and-white") pages of a classic "Trains" magazine "Photo Section"... 👍👍👌👌
Wonderful video. It is always an awesome feeling being close to the cars as they rumble by. You realize just how big they are and it makes it exciting. Always following you and keep it up, Cat and dogs, Loki is growing and Chessie has a great friend. Love it.
Once the crossing lights start flashing that is just like a red light ..Also I used to get called to the crossings when the people who went around the gate paid with their lives and their children's lives sometimes.
I sure like the TUDOR (great revival look) House on the left side at the turn! Lots of great looking buildings in Lockland. Trains & Towns, town with trains, great brick buildings, bring it on!
Cool train coming around the blind curve. Red flag at end of train. 😊 You sure got lucky today catching two trains passing.❤you sure got yourself a winner with that cute puppy. Thanks for another exciting train video. Loved this. 😊
Stay safe in the hot weather JT. And that first train with the Hammer Head leading working flat out was a bit special! Regarding the blind crossing surely the gate lowering was a give away? We have numb nuts like that in the UK sadly, be patient or be a patient! As always great entertainment JT Be careful out there, my friend!
This was an interesting day of railfanning in Lockland, Ohio, Jaw Tooth! I enjoyed watching this video which included a train that you caught at Marion, Ohio which you had not previously uploaded.
I love that little baby tank car on the mixed freight in the train meet. ❤😊😊 I see a lot of steel cars going through town. There must be a steel mill in or close to Cincinnati?
Even though I live in your territory (Cincinnati) I catch a bunch of cool stuff/locations I never knew about before on your videos - a few of which I have checked out on my own. Thanks Jaw Tooth! Looking forward to crossing paths at some point :)
@@DavidBeckerSr Hi Dave. That sounds outstanding! The band I play in did a wedding reception and everyone got a lobster plus a whole buffet of other goodies. And a great time was had by all..
@@jonwatt678 It was so tender, sweet with heat, and that beautiful blue Apple Wood smoke!, Had diced chunks of Pork Belly in the beans, along with caramelized onions, and our local farmer, Fraiser Farms, yellow and Bi-collar sweet corn, (we are in Florida), as well as my wife’s superb slaw. That whole Lobster sounds divine!
That first train you showed was pretty impressive... a single engine pulling quite a long load... I was positive there was going to be a DCU somewhere there when it started getting a little long, like the 3rd train had hidden behind the 4th train, which also had a DCU. Ah, and you made the same observation... the first train did have a lot of cars for one locomotive, that's for sure. And in contrast the second train had two engines and it wasn't very long, as you pointed out also... ha! Nice bonus train and last bonus train as you were leaving. Good clip of the pup and the cat (escaping the pup?) in the tree by Lillia. The pup has striking eyes! PS: Loved the old building that still looks to be in use... 1875 and very well built.
Cool two train encounter JT! Plus they both had tail end DPU’s! Great small town in the Heartland. Please JT, put that seatbelt on! Hearing the warning tone gives you away! We need you around for a long, long time to come bringing us great rail videos!
When the traffic lights turn red, or the lights come on at the railroad crossing, it’s assumed by some people that they have a few seconds to run the light. And it’s assumed that it’s all okay as long as they don’t get caught. But when they do get caught they are very sorry about getting caught. You just can’t fix stupid. Not even with duct tape.
My cousin was hit by a train, out in the country many years ago before signals & no brush clearings at the crossings, yes TG he survived, he thinks it was because it was a tall truck & that his foot got hung up in his steering wheel, but he was hanging out upside down & his head was very close to the tracks for quite a distance until the train got stopped. He had no way to see the train coming! If he'd got out of his truck to listen & then look, it probably would've nailed him since there was so much overgrowth & his truck engine noise! Needless to say, after that accident & many complaints from before his accident, the area was finally cleared, but not maintained😮 Those old take a life chance RR signs at the crossings were scary! Respect those flashing red lights & long arms of the law! 😊
My favorite spot is a track heading northeast out of Springfield. It's just the train, track, nature and me. Foliage hides modernity. Can imagine it in a different era.
That first train in the video is very interesting to me because it has every feature of being a local, but pulled with a modern 6-axle GE. The reason I say that is because I was in Baxley, GA today and, while eating lunch at the local Burger King (right on the NS tracks), a local train of eight or ten cars of long-length logs passed through town being yanked by a 6-axle GE. Interesting. Are 6-axle GE's the newest locals and switchers on the NS?? Actually, I hope not; I miss the variety of engines...........
In Iron Mtn. MI the downtown crossings have lights but no gates and is a no horn zone. This past week two sets of crossing lights weren't working so the conductor got out ahead of the engine to stop traffic. Runners in this area are the norm, and so are collisions. Fortunately, the trains go slow. I like the WFRX engine painted in Halloween colors.
I have seen a lot of Jasons videos from Iron Mountain. I would love to film a train going past the fire house in Iron Mountain. That is a cool looking scene
NS 178 runs from irondale Alabama to Bellevue Ohio. It's counterpart is NS 179. Spent a lot of time on both of those symbols when I worked at NS on the Sandusky district
While no train was super long a lot of quirky little cars in them. First train near the front had a centerbeam lettered GACX and just before the UP DPU on train 4 is a GACX covered Hopper made especially for carbon black. Back to train 1 a TCIX tank car with the reporting marks in white paint but the number is yellow paint indicating that it began Life as a UTLX. car but apparently the shop didn't have yellow paint. Train.2 had an oldie covered Hopper now marked PMRX but you can still see the words S OO Line. If you look at the uneven rust near the top you can tell this car received quite a bit of TLC to repair sideswipe damage. Train 4 boasted a TILX 3 dome 3 separate tank inside which is not a common design. Note the 3 hazmat plackards. Toss in the mobile. Wells Fargo WFRX branch office locomotive add another greatJT tape is in the books and on your screen
Jaw sir I al so love your theme music for your videos.i love the over head rr signal bridge (also;in this video)i think that's the first rr signal bridge we railfans have seen (in any videos you've recorded so far)😊
Arcade & Attica's new locomotive arrived Thursday afternoon, you have about 3 weeks before they get it in service and the center cabs stop being used in regular freight service.
How about heading north a few miles maybe filming from the Glendale-Milford Rd. Overpass or the next one Sharon Rd. that crosses over the yard past where the turn table used to be, and where the hump was? Or on up to CP Vaughn/and the Mill Connection. Also are you familiar with the old screaming bridge location on Maud Hughes Rd. Can't say have seen much filmed in that stretch of the Dayton District between Sharonville - Middletown there's gotta be a few decent spots just some ideas.
Was that a Wells Fargo Railway locomotive on the 3rd train? All foreign power including DPU. Great locations today. Nothing sounds better than those diamonds being hit...

The action "Cool train coming around the blind curve," is "rounding the bend." That phrase was old English in the 1940 decade.

Long hood forward classic Southern style!
Great vid! Always look forward to them! Two trains and nice landscaping. Anyone know why those two tank cars have flat panels on the side? Thank you!!
Good question!
A time stamp would help. Right behind the locomotive (1:18) are two coil cars with side panels. Why the other coil cars didn't have them is a mystery.
Great videos as usual. I love the horn on the lead engine (NS #8109)

I think the bigger railroads like NS and cSX are losing their 4 axle locos. Thats what I have noticed. They keep selling them off to short lines
