    Funny that you mentioned Cats, I have several, and there are pros and cons, all complete models must be behind plexiglass, and I have to constantly vacuum up hair, even though all my building is done in a separate shed! However, there discarded whiskers make excellent antennas, and are flexible and last forever!

    The thing in the back of the pilots seat is the stowage for the sea anchor. A small parachute that the pilot throws in which is attached to the front of the aircraft which keeps the nose steady if the aircraft has ditched

    Morning Nigel, im loving this! This build is the first thing I want to watch in the mornings (here in Australia). I miss the Sea Kings from the Royal Australian Navy, they were Mk.50As.
    I thought the end of the pee tube was brass? I only say that as I'm sure the guys use to polish it with brasso? That was about 15yrs ago, though...
    I've preordered my kit, it'll be awhile until it arrives over this side of the world.
    Have a great day mate!

    Nigel, great build, enjoy the build part of a model more than anything so the detail is appreciated - the explanations of your thought processes are a help in this kit but can be applied to building any model, great job truly - it also seems Airfix has really stepped up their game in some of these newer releases

    Nigel, another great, and for me, useful, video. The build is looking absolutely great. I really loved your comment near the end about the importance of looking ahead / thinking ahead; this is what every good engineer / model builder should learn (or have learned) how to do, whether the skill to which that technique is applied is electronic design, software design, or model building.

  • @ChrisColeman-yf8jk
    @ChrisColeman-yf8jk Год назад +1

    Nigel the speed of build is great as you say so many speed froth build icing a false impression to those newbies thinking wow this shiny take long then lose the will to carry on building in the future
    No one is every an expert yes there are some great builders out there but you are never to old to learn new techniques
    I class my self as an intermediate having returned to the hobby after too many years
    I'm learning all the time keep up the great work and videos

    I tend to steer clear of the videos where its just someone assembling a kit with out an explanation of what the plans show and why they are doing things in a certain order as they arent instructional just someone throwing a kit together.
    Your construction vids are A+ IMHO, the same with the kit reviews, I never considered Meng until I saw the Chieftain review and build, so bought the Meng Warrior, which looks as clean as the Challenger. I also bought the Meng M911 with Trailer, which doesnt seem to have any where near the number of Injector and/or Ejector pin marks, even on the trailer.
    Keep up the good work please.

    Great build Nigel. Thanks for leaving that bit out on purpose. I was shouting at the screen, it really does increase the tension and drama of the build.
    Can’t wait to pick up my copy and get building. I would choose the same scheme as you have as it reminds me of driving past Culdrose going on a family holiday too many years ago to mention. Maybe the only improvement would be the Junglie in it’s arctic cam. Would you build another and if so what scheme ?

    A typical helicopter has three flight control inputs-the cyclic stick (the bent one in front of the seat), the collective lever (the straighter one to the side), and anti-torque pedals.
