How can she not? She has beauty, talent, humility, humor and -- above all -- grace, which many lack today. I wish I had been able to meet in person this amazing woman.
Ingrid was 59 and looking as fabulous as ever. What a amazing talent and an even more amazing woman. I read her memoir twice and enjoyed it both times.
It's very heartwarming to hear the song "As Time Goes By" when she appears; this wasn't the first footage that that kind of introduction took place. Even with the slightly blurred video, Ingrid's eyes and smile still stood out --- very much. Such a lovely woman. And she's also gifted with humor... Very much LOVELY!
This is a professional congratulating another professional, no planned speech, either, I love it! Who can do that, l i v e ~ so naturally, too. Grace, style, and highly intelligent ~ and so very lovely to look at, any age....
I'm being watching Ingrid's videos all night and ealry morning now, my face hurts because I haven't stop smiling all this time! She is just amazing, makes me laugh out loud!! she is just plain awesome! Ingrid I LOVE YOU! wherever you are I LOVE YOU!!! thanks for uploading this, such a gift!♥
The overwhelming feeling of gratitude she felt when everybody stood up for her. She was holding back tears. It hit differently while " As Time Goes By" was playing. You deserved every respect Ingrid! You were deeply loved!
What an intelligence, beauty, class. THE ROYAL among Royals of the Hollywood entertainment arena. A very authentic person. No dillution. She is very her. She is the Ingrid Bergman.
My great-grandfather got to do a short scene with her in the 1958 film Inn Of The Sixth Happiness. Hitchcock was a friend and got him a little film work (was also the ambassador Doris Day saves in The Man Who Knew Too Much).
i love it, he walks across the stage, and accompanies her to the mic. so much class and gentlemen-ness back then haha i just love it! :) now, they just make them walk alone if they don't share the mic with someone else....
In my opinion the best film actress ever (with Meryl running a close second). She was so committed to the inner life of every character she played. And not once have I seen a false moment emotionally or a reaction that wasn't genuine. Maybe Meryl was better in SOPHIE'S CHOICE but that's about it.
Ingrid was an actress that had no choice in the matter. She was born to acting. Obviously an outstanding actress, she also was gifted with a kindness unattained by most actors, a gracefulness in her performances, and her stunningly natural beauty was beyond compare. No movie star title for this lady, she defined acting.
I'm so glad you like the video, girls :-) barnabinobarnabone, I have the whole show, but Ingrid doesn't appear more in it. Possibly tomorrow I'm gonna upload the INGRID show. It's quite similar the one I uploaded before but it has some new footages. that's all I have :(
Ingrid becomes a little emotional during the standing "O". She looks wonderful here. Hard to believe she passed just 7 years later in 1982. She was a chain smoker for nearly all her life but would never allow herself to be photographed with a cigarette.
@@arabellabishop That's the exception that proves the rule, and unfortunately there's no way to identify the source of the photo due to the website.. How many tens of thousands of photos were taken of Ingrid Bergman, and how many show her smoking? And she was a chain smoker!
Welles actually stood up for Bergman. You just can't avoid giving this woman a standing ovation
Why is it Ingrid Bergman makes me want to cry? The incandescent beauty, the graciousness, the love that she inspires. It touches the soul.
Nessie Ness
we're incandescent revelations in a world of darkened forms!

She was always gorgeous from day 1 until her death.
Amazing. She was one of the greatest actresses ever. Period. I love how Orson cracked up at her joke about never being married to him haha

Great to see a wonderful actress pay tribute to an amazing actor & director!
Standing ovation: damn right. She was awesome. One of the few, if they could, who would get an ovation at our recent award shows.

Class always shows. What a beautiful worded tribute from a true lady. Where are they today?
Pure class! What a gracious and heartfelt tribute.

Very very professional insight.
I can't imagine seeing Meryl Streep anywhere near the top of that list, but Bergman definitely is.
@@Vingul ingrid and meryl streep always in there the greatest top list..
Ingrid Bergman Clips well, Streep is certainly not on my list :-) but Ingrid Bergman is one of the greats.

Love it!
The Orson Welles AFI tribute occurred in 1975. Bergman was 60.
So simple, genuine and pure from the heart. Wonderful Ingrid
It's great that there were times when true artists got the biggest standing ovations at awards ceremonies and not Sandra Bullock.
1915 was a vintage year ... Welles, Bergman & Sinatra were all born in that same year! Wow!!

Splendida Ingrid, intelligente e generosissima, come è sempre stata.

standing ovation for Ingrid, and Ingrid said she was just passed by
Nació y murió un 29 de agosto. Cerró un ciclo vital de belleza y talento y dejó una huella inalterable en el tiempo y en la memoria.

I'd like to know too
Ingrid got a much larger ovation than Orson. Not saying she doesn't deserve it, just shows you how the establishment really didn't like him.

that's not true. there are several photos of her smoking. do a quick search, and you'll se ;-)
