Hi! I’m the same age of your daughter and loved the Vanderbeekers On 141st Street, and the 5 books that follow in the series. The Seventh comes out in September. I also loved the Penderwicks, The Pages & Co. Series, And A Series Of Unfortunate Events. I’m about to buy a big book packages, and most of them are your recommendations! Thanks! 💗

3 books that stood out to me that I read as an adult for the first time I think she'd like when she's older like high school or college - Chaim Potok's My Name is Asher Lev and sequel The Gift of Asher Lev. also A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. part of My Name is Asher Lev is relatable as it starts when he's in school but then quickly goes into adult and deeper stuff but it was sooo good.

Thank you so much. I watched all the way through. I don't think my two boys would actually enjoy any of these, because they are hard to get interested in anything that isn't Minecraft or Pokémon, but it has given me a few titles to look for and try. And I love how you can sit and discuss with your daughter, too.

I would recommend the Fablehaven series by Brandon Hull. My son LOVED that series, and I think has some similar taste in books as your daughter! Happy Reading! I love the book club for kids idea!!!!

A would like to recommend the “treehouse series” of books by Andy Griffiths. Such as “The 78 Story Treehouse” etc. There are a lot of them and she describes them as silly. Thanks for the video, we got a lot of books to put on hold.

The Twenty-One Balloons by William Pene du Bois is a historical fantasy I read when I was about the same age as your daughter, and I loved it! It takes place on the island of Krakatoa before it was destroyed by a volcano and has a fictional society that was really fun to read about. Considering she likes Harry Potter and Keeper of the Lost Cities, I would recommend (again, I know) the Pendragon series by D. J. MacHale. The main character travels to different worlds throughout the series, finding out in the first book that he is one of the people in the next generation tasked with protecting them. A few other books I would recommend if they sound of interest to her are the Swipe series by Evan Angler (a dystopian based on Revelation), and Entwined by Heather Dixon (a 12 Dancing Princesses retelling) or Illusionarium by Heather Dixon if she's interested in scifi/alternate universes at all. All three are free of language and sexual content as far as I can recall (Angler is Christian, and Dixon I believe is Mormon). Pendragon has a couple of swear words sprinkled throughout each book, but is otherwise clean as well.
