I hope this video is seen by all the young women out there struggling. This is what being courted is. It's becoming a lost art but we all deserve to be courted with respect and delicacy.

Lisa, I’m 21 and I found your channel because of your skincare videos and I started to venture off more into the vlog/chat type videos and I am so lucky to have found your channel because I think that you are one of the classiest, beautiful, fun, youthful and modest woman I have ever admired. I have taken a lot of what you’ve said into consideration about marriage, and just dating in general and I am someone who has pretty traditional values so having a female role model like you to make these videos is a god send! I dated my husband for a brief time in high school-he is older and I was too young. Fast forward 18 yrs we met for coffee when I went home for a visit-I'm from NY but lived in Fl at the time- and 9 1/2 weeks later we got married! December will be 20 years and you're so right-when you meet (or re-meet) the right person it all falls into place

Love, love, love your story! I have been divorced twice so I agree that it is devastating and you can't let it ruin your happiness. I met my current fiancé on a cruise ship. I am from Texas and he is from Louisiana. If he is the right one, you can make it work even long distance for a whole year. God bless you....Kathy
I'm 2 minutes into this video and already I am just finding myself nodding. Being 21 yrs. old and seeing so many women close to me make mistakes, including my older sisters that I can't look up to, I just love hearing stories/advice. Let me tell you, you're SOOOO lucky to have had your parents there for you.

I commented before I even finished the video, so I needed to add this : When you said the part about telling your mom that John "loves me like you do", I got tears in my eyes. What a nice way of putting it. Makes me smile.
It's nice to see a "human" side to everybody. All too often people try to live a persona and problems and woes are nonexistent. It is so refreshing to see a REAL person just as that: a person with stories of triumph and sadness. It makes me appreciate my time with you every week, Lisa.
I am not sure about "knowing" or never breaking up or fighting. I met my husband in college and we did a lot of that. We were so young, it was really just natural for that age. He swore he wasn't getting married til he was 50. We dated 6 years, and he was 28 when we married, I was 27. Needless to say, we've been married almost 25 years now and are closer than ever. He is the everything a man should be and the essence of "love".

I lost my dad when I was 17 and life was kind of rocky for me so God sent my hubby to help me learn and grow. We dated for many years, decided to get married, had three children, and we are very happy. I am blessed!! and so are you!!!!!
After my divorce, I found a John too. In an amazing coincidence, I had lost my beloved Uncle John, who passed tragically at a young age. My boyfriend John also had an Uncle John (who he is named after) who drowned before he was born. I really believe John is a magical name. I am so happy to have found mine. You're lucky to have found yours too! Thanks for sharing your story.
My mom has an antique store in the Midwest and every time I visit I bring back vintage jewlery. I love the look of old pieces, how they were made, what they were made of, and that they're so unique. I wish I had seen the signs and left a bad relationship in my 20's but no, I thought I could fix it, older wiser, single, 40's and finally happy now.
i am absolutely thrilled by your story. I kept pausing and telling my husband about what you kindly told us. It is an overwhelming feeling to discover that different nations have common values. The way you described your relations and closeness with your family ... oh... it sounds very much like my own culture. You are a Christian, this is also an integral part of our being, and this setting up thing and other funny elements are just so precious !!! Wonderful words, Lisa. "He loves me like you do" is a perfect way to describe the perfect one! My husband and I were both married before, as well, and had a wonderful journey in finding each other for life. Sarah Coventry jewelry was truly beautiful and a fond memory for me. I can remember the home shows first, and then the jewelry moved into some stores before Avon started selling it. I think I am right on that. I have some things that I need to start wearing again. You have inspired me!

I met my Hubby in High school. We married very young, 37 yrs ago! We laugh when people ask cuz we can honestly say we have been married ALL of our Adult lives! lol. Sad to say my children did not find their true loves the first time around, but I kinda knew it at the time, but hoped they could "Workout their differences". As a parent it is a hard thing to watch, we also welcomed them back home, only our daughter could come back home. I am happy to say they both have found true love. Good Vlog!
Lisa, I love everything about this video. More young women need to listen to this message. It's uplifting, encouraging, and honest. Young women should understand that they don't need to settle for relationships that are full of drama, lies, rudeness, or infidelity. Like you said, when it's the right person, things will feel GOOD!

Even though I am only 19 I have been so discouraged with my past relationships, and continuing to pray that God would send me the one he has planned for me. Lisa, I LOVE ur story! So simple. So perfect. I'm a firm believer that true love is born in a "cool" temperature and doesn't have to be heated, worked at, etc. It flows and things fall in place easily. Unfortunately, as women, we fail to recognize it as love-until we've had the rocky relationship first! I love ur description of ur story! Love u more now! Xx

Hi Lisa I can relate to finding the right man . I met my husband when I was 20 we married nine month's later and have been married nearly 28 years. When it is right things really do just fall into place. My husband is 13 years older than I am and we have two adult children it is really important that two people know what they want and that it is the same thing.

I wish I could send this video to half the women I know! I cried and woke up my boyfriend to tell him how much I love him (he was slightly confused since it 1am lol) it truly is the best feeling in the world. The Sarah Coventry jewelry was indeed popular in the 70's. I was a young girl, so couldn't afford much of it, but did have a few pieces from my mom. They used to have jewelry parties. But yes, everything comes back around.
I like your OOTD...I just like that kind of look and always have. I could show pics of me from back in the day with almost the same outfit. Seriously. So, everything does come back around from jewelry to clothing. Have a great weekend!

I just recently went through a breakup and this just made me feel hopeful and made me feel at peace with the breakup I thought about it as a negative thing but after this video I realize it just wasn't meant to be. Great story! I love your southern sensibility. My Grandmother lived in covington tenesee and when I was a girl we used to spend summers at her house. I loved that so much. Since she grew up there she had roots and I felt like I was part of something when I was there. She is long dead but I still miss that connection. I think that is partly why I like watching your videos . You take me back! Of course I like your insight and all the girlie stuff too !

I’ve watched this before, But it really was encouraging. I agree with everything you said. And I will definitely will follow your advice. I’m 42 never married, I’m glad because I’ve grown and I’m healthy , meaning I have worked through a lot of my issues. And this also helps. When that person does come, he will get a whole women.

OMG, this is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard-I’m crying my eyes out!!! When you said you told your mom that John loves you like she does, I just lost it!!! Sooo sweet. This came up on my feed today and I’m so glad I saw it. I’m gonna tell my boys! It’s just not the relationship I’ve got with my husband ( we’ve been separated for YEARS ). And then you showed the outfit of the day and ,God bless you- you looked fantastic! You had on flared, lower-rise Citizens of Humanity ‘Morrison’ jeans that you said were your faves, nude heels, black top and the LV speedy, which you said was your all-time favorite handbag!! I’ve always wanted one to this day-even tho it doesn’t have a side pocket and I NEED a good-sized side pocket! But anyway I thought since you are long and lean and a blonde beauty with an air(that the right spelling?) of class, you could step out in that same outfit today and everyone would say ‘look at Lisa being so retro and cute, bringing back the early 2000’s’ and you’d bring it back, girl!! Do you still have and wear your speedy? What about the jeans? Can you still wear the same size?? I so enjoyed this blog-Sooo glad it showed up on my feed!!!
