I found that York has a 52C sensor that caused complete shut down of their screw machines, and in Baghdad that is not unrealistic temperature to obtain on a frequent basis.

I'm fond of this video. It looks so nice. Hope my company in the future could also make one like this. Or even better. :P

Looks like Carrier decided to go from a two-screw unit to a triple-screw unit in developing this technology. This is interesting because I am trying to do just the opposite - I'm trying to turn a twin-screw compressor into a pump for the hydraulics industry, which only uses triple-screw technology. Very interesting design, though I've heard they're somewhat noisy due to the fixed 4KHz PWM switching frequency.

    Good performance chiller

  • @SiglerEngineering

The chiller is amazingly quiet (considering that it's a chiller). We have another video showing this within the SiglerEngineering channel. The triple-screw allows the chiller to have an easy direct drive center screw with offsetting screws. Less parts = more simplicity = more reliability.

Its having carriers control system with Plant Room Optimiser or you can say chiller performance optimizer , lub system work on SP

The centrifugal compressor is rotating backwards?

Diego Mayán - Actually, I did some research and those are "backwards leaning" blades which allow for a wider range of operation.

Typical residential systems are between 0.9 - 1.5 kW/ton and include all electrical items (not gas). Water cooled chillers are 0.3 - 1.0 kW/ton but do not include cooling tower, pump nor indoor fan power, BUT the whole system is still low at 0.5 - 0.8 kW/ton. Speculating, the 250 residential systems on a commercial bldg was driven by lower first cost. Landlords typically do not have an incentive to provide efficient equipment for tenants responsible for their own heating and cooling costs.

so screw chiller always beats centrifugal chiller ...if they were available at higher tonnage?

No abhijit , both principle and efficiency different , this is premium screw chiller product like wise carrier has 19 XR centri which is also premium centri

Water cooled chiller ratings are specific to the application's condenser water & chilled water temperatures, flow rates and glycol percentages. Carrier's 23XRV chiller ranges between 0.299 kW/ton IPLV - 0.35 kW/ton IPLV. Full load is less important (based on your geographical location) but this chiller still achieves +/- 0.5 kW/ton at full load. Please contact your local Carrier Commercial Sales Representative to get exact efficiencies for your specific application.

How is there’s no axial load?! If the suction is still at one end, and discharge in the other!!!
No axial load would be if suction is in the middle, and two discharges are at the end.
Or two suctions at the ends, and discharge is in the middle!

"Makes sense" means different things to different people. I recommend gathering facts about the Carrier 23XRV vs. an air cooled screw chiller option for an calculated comparison. We can help you but we would need to know more about your building. Please email us at siglerengineering@gmail.com
