    Amazing videos, I work on a large cruise ship, we actually have 5 chillers that work in sequence. Huge power plant. And the compressor itself is equipped with VGD difusor.
    And of course we use sea water inside the condenser to remove the heat of the freon.
    I am relatively new to this position and your videos makes everything much much simpler.
    Keep on the good work

    Very interesting to watch how a large scale centrifugal compressor works. I should point out, however, centrifugal force is a direct consequence of centripetal force (the actual force causing something to rotate) by newtons III law.

    The alternative to the centrifugal compressor is the twin screw compressor and they are both used on chiller systems which are only used on large buildings like sports arenas?

    Good evening. I want to ask something about compressor. Maybe one of you know about this. I have problem with my ammonia refrigerant compressor in plant. This is multistage compressor and driven by steam turbine. The speed (RPM) of the compressor is decrease time by time, and the valve of steam turbine is full open now. When i collect the data of the process, i find that vaporation in the suction compressor is increase, because any trouble in heat exchanger. Is that can make the speed of the compressor decrease? Is that choking?

    Your arrows are pointed in the wrong direction. Tower water pumps push water into the chiller not towards the cooling tower. Also the chilled water pumps push water through the chiller to the AHU’s. They don’t pull water from the chillers.

    Your explanation using the cylinder reducing the volume of the refrigerant is how a positive displacement machine works. Centrifugal compressors are not positive displacement machines. They are dynamic machines. They do not compress the gas. They raise the pressure by accelerating the gas.

    What do I need, to convert 50°C input, to get 800°C output?
    I want to reuse my wasteheat, but to be efficient, I need a fluid/gas at 800°C, but I cant pass 50° at operation.
    12°C -> 50°C -> 12° .....
    .............50°C -> 800°C -> 12°C -> 50°C....
    first loop and second loop.

    • @EngineeringMindset
      @EngineeringMindset  6 лет назад

      You can't get 800c from a 50c source with a refrigerant or any medium. You will have to use a combustion source to top up the rest and simply preheat with the refrigerant. Hot always goes to cold, its very difficult to force it the other way.

    Sir..what if the compressor is not working?what will happen

    • @rohitdewani
      @rohitdewani 4 года назад

      Pressure and temperature of the refrigerant will not increase, refrigerant will then be cooler than the water in the condensor and hence the building will not cool down.
