As an American, I’m so happy jingles can get this life saving operation done without adding hundreds of thousands of debt. Here multiple loved ones of mine have died either because they didn’t have the money to pay or their “health” insurance companies didn’t want to pay. No one should die because of a profit motive.
Also as an American, I am baffled by all that drama. Have a good health plan, and you're ok. Nothing is " free ", and you always pay yourself sooner or later, one way or another

While yes its inefficient it means that everyone gets healthcare at a price appropriate for their budget, compare that to the us, where for the poorest its a financial ball and chain.

I'm so glad to hear you are doing well jingles. All of what you are going through reminds me of my father last year, he was suffering from kidney failure and started dialysis and as soon as he did somehow bacteria got in the line and was pumped all throughout his blood stream. He very nearly died and he was hooked up to just about everything you could imagine, he is ok now thankfully the infection cleared up, so I'm glad to see you are doing well. Just make sure you take care of yourself
Nothing like going home after spending time in the hospital. I always hop on my computer and just enjoy being back in my normal surroundings. Glad you're going home!
Hope that you will recover well after this and that you won't have any complications from this in the future. (We definitely haven't been sneaking an extra minute of break from the saltmines while you have been away)

He had bowel cancer. He's just been operated on to remove the cancer. Fortunately it was discovered early, so only a minor op.
