I left the transmission in the car when I pulled my motor as well. Putting it back in was pretty easy. I'd replace the timing chain/tensioner while it's out
I'd love to see a detailed wiretuck/engine shave build you don't see much video content of it anywhere. Its out of the realm of what everyone else is doing presently. The show car boys and the powerplant boys would enjoy watching it. Its a win win situation.

Highly recommend to buy a big ass roll of plastic wrap for all the parts you will be taking off the motor, so the parts don’t get dusty. Wrap all of my motor parts in plastic wraps while they were sitting, when I was dissembling it. Helps a lot in the long run.
New headgasket and rod bearings. Typically rod knock is due to oil starvation so which ever rod has obad bearing is not getting sufficient oil supply which means you need to clean out all of the oil galleys in the crank shaft itself that feeds boil down to the rod bearing journal. Doing this will ensure that when you re install your New bearings and pistons with rods you won't end up getting robbed knock on the same rod from an unsolved oil starvation issue

Dude just do literally a simple ass build just do stock bore and put aftermarket low compression pistons and aftermarket rods... crankshaft holds power stock..do a semi build on head n fuck it turn up Boost No Joke Like 20-25 pounds of boost.... recommend some CP Carrillo pistons....Manley connection Rods
