I am going to be doing a bit of "Vanlife" traveling and was planning on using a rice cooker primarily with my solar panels and inverter....this channel is a great help...thanks, again!
Tried this and it came out really good put in some frozen precooked meatballs and came out great I also used more sauce with ckn broth great to experiment and make to your own taste!
If I wanted to make this but use ground turkey instead, I think I would put the meat in first so it's closest to the heating element and gets cooked through, thoroughly. I'm going to try it! I love my rice cooker, (an 8 cup Aroma), and while it does make fabulous rice, I love that I can make lots of other things in it. Great video!
I recently bought a Dash 2 Cup Rice Cooker and I'll be trying this in it. It looks really good. I'm thinking about adding in some fresh diced green bell peppers, mushrooms and onions to the mix plus Italian Seasonings as well. I've missed Spaghetti 🍝 during these HOT FLORIDA DAYS... so the mini appliances are perfect for cooking during these scorching afternoons.
Ever since getting a rice cooker earlier this year, which is rapidly becoming my "go-to" appliance, I wondered if I could make spaghetti in it. Did a RUclips search and found you. THANK YOU sooo much for this video. I think my rice cooker is a bit larger (it has up to 4 cups markings on the inside) so I "guesstimated" amounts of spaghetti and liquids. I just happened to have some leftover chicken broth. :) It came out wonderfully!! I didn't have any meat to add when I cooked it but I had enough for leftovers and added some chopped up leftover meatloaf when I heated up a batch of the leftovers. As delicious as when first cooked!! Now I'm thinking of including some chopped onion in my next batch.
I tried this too and it was almost perfect if the pastas weren't undercooked lol. I think I had underestimations with the liquids. Will definitely try again though. Thanks for this. :)
I've been doing this with penne and it's awesome. Every now and then you get an undercooked noodle but not often. I prefer it way over all that boiling and draining.
Thank you. I am so glad [someone] is experimenting with this WP 1.5 cooker. When Wolfgang was on HSN this month, I ordered one because of the versatility.....and before the show was over, I ordered another one. Perfect for when the wife comes home from the YMCA for a nice hot lunch instead of a sandwich or a hot toaster oven wrap. Then I thought.....if I had two, and made maybe beef stew in one, rice in the other, we both could eat a hot lunch. Mac n cheese is great in this.Rice is perfect, and makes plenty for two, and instead of having the fridge full of leftovers, I can cook fresh for most meals. I have the 8qt WP pressure cooker, and am experimenting, and the WP pressure oven should be here March 9th. I love Wolfgang, and I've had many items of his over the last 10-12 years.Technology has changed, and these new appliances have changed my kitchen, my cooking, and our health, ....for the better. I have the manuals [recipes] and Marian's cookbooks, but I like watching videos, and your vids are nice, clean, and crisp Even though I have plenty of time to cook and bake [we are both retired] and are health-conscious, these new WP appliances take it a step further. Again, thank you, and I will be watching.
It makes the noodles really sticky, you should steam the spaghetti and keep it separate, then cook your sauce, but brown the meat first, put it in the pot with salt and pepper for 10 minutes then drain the oil out add the sauce and once its hot you can add the noodles or just pour the sauce over the noodles, any left overs you can mix them together and refrigerate and reheat in a microwave..if you try this you'll see why you need to do it separately
LILONEK11 my pleasure. Just remember to add a bit of oil to keep the spaghetti noodles from sticking and stir once halfway through cooking. Any other noodle and you don't have to do that. It's just something about spaghetti noodles.
Love the idea! I have Vegan meatballs I had bought at Walmart. This is going to be one nice meal! I eat Vegan part of the week and try to cut down on meat as much as possible but I have learned so much from you today. Thank you so much!
I’m making spaghetti tonight for dinner in my Wolfgang Puck mini cooker! Thank you for sharing this recipe. I’m going to precook my hamburger first. These mini cookers are the best! 🤗👍🏾💖
Thanks for sharing the tip I didn't want to be just limited on only cooking rice in the rice cooker I'm happy to know that you can also make other dishes! I love pasta so i will be trying this the only thing I would change is cooking the meat I. The skillet just to make sure it's thoroughly cooked! Thanks for sharing GOD BLESS
Excellent for making Pizza-Mac. No pizza crust to mess with, the Macaroni noodles are used instead of crust. Put whatever toppings you enjoy on your Pizza inside the cooker with the Macaroni noodles. Stir and ADD CHEESE DURING THE LAST FEW MINUTES OF THE COOKING TIME-FRAME. It's a FAV for Car/Van camping or for Picnicking using a Portable Power Station.
Thanks - got this cooker and was frustrated with the choice of recipes - Wolf Gang puck stuff - much of it too fancy, not basic. thanks for this simple recipe
Works great if you pay attention to instructions. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia For those that complain about "mushy" or "wet" rice I suspect they are using the included cup to measure rice (which is really only 3/4 cup) and then putting in water using a separate measuring cup that is a full cup. This results in too much water and you will get mushy or wet rice and think it is not done. Just use the included cup for both rice and water, or your own measuring cup for rice and water according to your package directions. It will come out fine. I've used mine for years for brown and white rice. If your machine is bubbling white froth out of the steam vent then it means you should have rinsed your brand of rice first to remove some of the starch. Sheesh. Makes me wonder how people can cook well enough to feed themselves.
How do you know if the meat is well cooked? Is it because 20mins in the rice cooker is just generally more than enough? Would that also work for chicken breasts? Thanks !
I saw someone else said they cut up chicken tenders into small bites and cooked them that way. can't remember the recipe. I would think if you made the meat small enough it would work fine
I tried this before. I put the ground pork first for 10 mins and followed with sauce and the hotdogs. I closed the lid for 5 mins and stir it and additional 5 mins. After that I put it on a separate container and I cooked my spaghetti pasta with boiling water from the rice cooker. When it cooked, I did put it in a separate plate. I usually like my spaghetti and sauce not cooked together.
David Mcbide you are quite welcome. The spaghetti noodles were a bit tricky but I got it figured out after a few tries. A smidgen of oil and a halfway stir keeps the noodles separated. Good luck!
I’m in Australia and we have one here called the Eco quick Pot and it looks pretty much the same . Thanks for the recipe 👍 They sell it on our Tvsn shopping channel here and show lots of recipes but I got mine cheaper off EBay 👍 I’ve been looking for more recipes that are suitable for my small quick pot ..but Could only see on RUclips that biggger types of the pot were shown . I’ll definitely make this one 🤗🤗
What if you don't want to add the broth, sauce & meat? Can you use water? The broth has way too much sodium but the low & non sodium kind tastes bad so what can I use instead?
Melissa Adams Yum! This thing is a little gem isn't it? Actually any rice cooker really, just adjust the measurements. Who would have thought a rice cooker was really a multi-cooker. I'm trying brownies later. We will see.......
Awesome! I boiled eggs in mine.... pour off hot water when finished and add cold water.. let set for a few mins... drain... shake the eggs inside and the shells just fell off!!
Do you think this would work with rice? We eat more rice w/tomato sauce than spaghetti. I'd like to put vegan TVP crumbles in it with the sauce. I'd also like to try sliced kielbasa, rice & sauce. Is the kielbasa too dense? Would it mess up the cooking with rice?
calendarpage I would think it would be fine. Just consider the tomato sauce as well as water together when accounting for the liquid. The rice will need to absorb the liquid. Sounds yummy!
i live in australia and have a perfect cooker same as the w.p. i have had my rice cooker for a couple of months now, i have tried to cook the same spaghetti receipt but my spag. keeps sticking glugy together, should i try as you suggested adding olive oil. mere male. roy
roy ludlow A little oil helps but in the end I found it works so much better to use elbow pasta, shells, or penne. I no longer use this recipe with spaghetti noodles. They seem to be fussy. They that and let us know how it comes out!
I've been looking at different rice cookers since I'm starting college soon. Apparently the Wolfgang Puck one isn't sold anymore. Can you recommend another one? And how many litres should it fit to feed 2 people?
so pay the price I’d think you’d just use water rather than sauce and drain as usual. Then add the sauce and heat again. Just watch the time so the pasta doesn’t get mushy.
It cooked quickly. I would check it before the timer clicks off. I’d recommend using elbow or penne or such noodles rather than spaghetti noodles. It comes out better.
Freestyleliving It cooked until the machine clicked off, about 22 min on my machine. Ground beef cooks quickly as it’s small pieces. If in doubt just scoop out a piece and break it open. You’ll see if it’s not cooked through.
I have a little problem with your math. You said equal parts broth and sauce. You put in 1 1/2 cups of broth and 1/2 cup of sauce. I think you need to recalculate. But you are right about making this dish with other pastas. Breaking spaghetti is a no no.
Not the same rice cooker, but should be the same setting (rice) and it does not turn out well. The noodles are always too starchy. Perhaps cook it in more water than necessary as you would on the stove, drain the noodles and brown the meat and then put the sauce and noodles back in just to warm it? I've tried this recipe and another and does not come out well.
BBBYpsi any other dry noodles don't do that when cooked in a pressure cooker, rice/multucooker, or slow cooker. It's just with spaghetti noodles that do. Still tasty. Have a great day!

Jiajia LI I have one that I bought just for using at work. It's great! I do find that elbow, penne, or such types of pasta works a bit better than the spaghetti noodles though.
I bought one it's came today I use it and I like it but I didn't like one things that it's off every 5mins then I start again then after later again it's go warm switch y this cooker doesn't cook for 30mins every 5mins it's off and it's go to warm y if u know plzzz can u tell me sis
Just from the pictures and video it looks sticky as heck and the spaghetti doesn't even look fully cooked or al dente for that matter oh well you like it and that's all that matters me I'll pass and let others know this is ok but NOT GOOD
This video was the only time I used spaghetti noodles. It seems to come out better using any other pasta (penne, elbow, shells,...).
I'm partial to rigatoni.
Jim
Can you sub chicken broth with vegetable?
Freddie Pierre yes, any liquid is fine, even just water
@@freddiepierre9583 I wouldn't know why you couldn't.
Great recipe for us small kitchen people. Thank you for sharing👍
I am going to be doing a bit of "Vanlife" traveling and was planning on using a rice cooker primarily with my solar panels and inverter....this channel is a great help...thanks, again!

+Dennis Johnson Frozen meatballs sounded good. I gave it a try and really liked it. Thanks.
Excellent ! Mine turned out great. Garlic powder 1/4 tspn, Tony's cajun seasoning 1/8 teaspoon, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning. Approx 8oz noodles. Whole wheat , 1.5 cups water, 1 cup of jar sauce. Dash Olive oil Thanks for posting!🍜🍖🍗
Sounds good! Did it come out al dente or soft?
I live in a college dorm and sometimes the food here sucks! I happen to have a rice cooker, so I’m thinking of doing things with my rice cooker.
Watched this video last night and tried it with my mini rice cooker today with penne, and it worked! Thanks for the video!
That is one adorable tiny ricecooker
If I wanted to make this but use ground turkey instead, I think I would put the meat in first so it's closest to the heating element and gets cooked through, thoroughly. I'm going to try it! You could use chopsticks for stirring to protect your rice cooker's finish.
I tried this and it came out good. Thank you for sharing this.

Oooh great, need to try this!!! I would love to cook more with the rice cooker ❤️❤️
Looks yummy! Thanks for the recipe.

It looks so easy to make!!! Thank you!!❤️🍝🍝🍝
I know you may have thought of this, but put the garlic salt into the measuring cup, stir in the cup first.
Ahhhh! Nice solution.
Absolutely I would try this soon. Thank you!
Oh I’m gonna try this. Looks so good.
Use regular elbow noodles as I found this comes out better. 😉

J Swain Thank you! Small appliances have really changed my willingness and ease of cooking after a long work day. I wish I had ordered two of these!
Looks delicious
I have a large Aroma rice cooker but I tried your method tonight and was pleasantly surprised! Thanks so much for the video.
+Sarah Gouthro You are welcome.
I haven an aroma rice cooker too! How many cups of noodles did you cook?
Love it.🎉
love your recipes thank you so much!! please keep it coming for the mini rice cooker recipes!! just ordered one from HSN thanks!!!

Sorry I'm so late to the party here, but these recipes are amazing!
I use beef broth with beef meat dinners but chic would do in a pinch
the result is very nice
omg ty i didnt know how to make pasta in a rice cooker i got for christmas :)
Wow gave me hope
Looks super yummy 😋
I tried the rice cooker it was very good the spaghetti in the rice cooker and I would definitely do it again
Thank you for this video. Been wondering how to accomplish this. What is the wattage of your cooker?
Go to try this out.. I’m a fan!! This is my type of dish... Peace out from music and video lover New Zealand.

I would stir the small bits of chicken breast 10 mins before its done.

Marvy Lou Mediano Thanks. This works better with elbow noodles than spaghetti noodles however. Have a great day!
Third Street Kitchen dont know if its available here in Philippines. Anyways ur idea is cool! Gonna try it tomorrow. Thanks for sharing dear :)
What if you don't want to add the broth, sauce & meat? Can you use water? The broth has way too much sodium but the low & non sodium kind tastes bad so what can I use instead?
I did this the other day and added pepperoni and a little mozzarella... perfection!
Melissa Adams Yum! This thing is a little gem isn't it? Actually any rice cooker really, just adjust the measurements. Who would have thought a rice cooker was really a multi-cooker. I'm trying brownies later. We will see.......

Melissa Adams I have done that, works great! Made egg salad. So good. I'll make a video sometime. So glad you are enjoying experimenting!
what amount of elbows or baby shells would I use? 1/2 cup? 1 cup?
do u still do the same thing with normal pasta or is it different?
I do the same with normal pasta. It seems to work better than the spaghetti noodles.
Thank you. I’m getting a rice cooker because my college doesn’t have any good food.

Great for camping
I’m thinking that the pasta will be more starchy because it wasn’t boiled ahead of time and water not drained out.
I tried it all in my crock pot even macaroni and cheese
Muy rico, delicioso
I am soo gonna try it~~
if you can, pour boiling water in the middle of your pasta, soften it and it will bend, dont break it.
Is it safe to used a metal spoon in a rice cooker
I've been looking at different rice cookers since I'm starting college soon. Apparently the Wolfgang Puck one isn't sold anymore. Can you recommend another one? And how many litres should it fit to feed 2 people?
Try this, elba rice cooker erc-d1233
I didn’t know you could cook the meat as well, thanks for this video
i put water, oill and salt in my pasta then i put the sauce or tomato juce.
Thanks! That was easy enough!!!☺☺☺
did the dg enjoy?
Can you just use water instead of the chicken broth? Thank you.
Sure thing!
Is there a method of cooking just the pasta by itself and then pouring in your favorite sauce?
so pay the price I’d think you’d just use water rather than sauce and drain as usual. Then add the sauce and heat again. Just watch the time so the pasta doesn’t get mushy.
thanks for helping
How long do they take
It cooked quickly. I would check it before the timer clicks off. I’d recommend using elbow or penne or such noodles rather than spaghetti noodles. It comes out better.
How long do you have to cook meat in rice cooker to get hot enough? I'm always worried it's not gonna get hot enough and mess it up
Freestyleliving It cooked until the machine clicked off, about 22 min on my machine. Ground beef cooks quickly as it’s small pieces. If in doubt just scoop out a piece and break it open. You’ll see if it’s not cooked through.
Third Street Kitchen thank you I appreciate it :)
my husband gonna think i lost my mind but am gonna try this
Nice
I going to try it with out meats ,I wish I had a better measurement of how much pasta for us single guys ,I can follow mesuements.
Because I’m watching my weight, I use 1/4 of a cup of dry elbow pasta. You can use half a cup.
Super cut machine 👍🏻❤️
It looks like someone has eaten it earlier.
looks goey to me
BBBYpsi any other dry noodles don't do that when cooked in a pressure cooker, rice/multucooker, or slow cooker. It's just with spaghetti noodles that do. Still tasty. Have a great day!
why you use metal spoon on non stick container :P
Looks disgusting...wouldn't even give It to my dog.stick to just cooking rice in your rice cooker. The day you eat a real spaghetti Bolognese your rice cooker will be first thing I put on Space x rocket to mars.May be that's why ET left Earth.lol🤣
I hear the italians saying no
The garlic in the sauce burned my eye when it splashed in it.
rice cookers are the best
FenrirGauntlet I love 'em.
Can I bring this to office for lunch ... not sure this is do-able...
Jiajia LI I have one that I bought just for using at work. It's great! I do find that elbow, penne, or such types of pasta works a bit better than the spaghetti noodles though.
Got one!! :) thank you!
I bought one it's came today I use it and I like it but I didn't like one things that it's off every 5mins then I start again then after later again it's go warm switch y this cooker doesn't cook for 30mins every 5mins it's off and it's go to warm y if u know plzzz can u tell me sis
love mine ~ i would have fryed the meat
Che bello !!! Mi piacerebbe avere questa macchina , Peccato che in Italia non si trova questo wolfgang puck 😞
Katia De Lucia lei puo comprare una macchina japonese "narita "
The only catch with this is not getting rid of starch in the pasta
Rocknroll thsy is very true ! When u do this method all the starch stays in
You can reduce the starch by rinsing the pasta thoroughly before putting in cooker.
Very smart
omg shes using metal on a non stick rice cooker
Just from the pictures and video it looks sticky as heck and the spaghetti doesn't even look fully cooked or al dente for that matter oh well you like it and that's all that matters me I'll pass and let others know this is ok but NOT GOOD
