Twin cam Engine 1779cc, max power 132 hp SAE, max speed more than 180km/h, 0-100 less than 10 sec. These are normal performances today, but 50 years ago.....simply wonderful !!
My father owned one like this. It was a 1970 model, burgundy color. It had the tan interior, just like this one. I drove it throughout the 90s. He had three Alfas: the Berlina, a 1971 Giulia Super 1300, and the 1966 Spider Duetto 1600, which he still owns.
I hope my '68, 1750 Berlina runs as well as your's. It's about 7-9 day's away from an 80% restoration, that's been head-up-against-a-brick-wall at almost every task undertaken. But, should it start, it'll be a weight off my mind.
As an Italian im so happy to see such a beautiful 1750 in USA. The original dealer ship sticker RIVOLI from North Italy,Turin,on the back window is simply beautiful
This car is awesome! I just love the raw and luxury feeling of old cars, you feel like you're connected with the vehicle. Today's cars now drives you and do anything for you which is not a bad thing either, but this could be a nice Sunday car.
Orgoglio italiano!! English translation from Italian the legendary Alfa Romeo 1750,a sedan derived from the Giulia Super,a Bialbero engine built in Italy in the province of Milan!!!! Italian pride!!!!
My Dad drove this car. USA version. Had head rests and wooden sterring wheel. Crimson color outside. As little kids my sister and I used to love riding in this with my Dad. What fond memories this brings back... Cheers.
That has got to be one of the cleanest Berlinas in existence!, and with that sweet 1750 an absolute jewel! - Excellent vid guys, the audio track made me reach for my good headphones. So cool! Grazie Mille!
I had one in the 1990's, 1971 Berlina, It was new in New Zealand, RHD. Mine had twin brake boosters as standard and a set of twin Solex 40mm. They gave the same out put as Webers and Delortos. In the factory at the time it depended on what stock was available as they would only order when they were low hence what the supplier had at the time. In clubman racing, the fight with Mk 2 Jags but loose to them on the straight, but bet them through the bends. To drive them, use the revs and try out tight windy roads, the first three gears are all that is needed. They are thirsty in town and better on long trips. They are to be driven with spirit and not creeping in traffic. Use the tone and pitch of the engine to drive it. The electrics are of the ilk of Lucas, Prince of Darkness. Most Berlinas will usually die of rust. The motors are lest flogged as the Spyders or the GT who always look for these as spares. A true drivers car for a skilled sportsman who needs a four seater. Bill Body wrote a great road test in 'Motorsport' when they came out and said they were one of the fastest and best drives from point A to point B.
Winding Road Magazine yeah, the three-box design doesn’t give away much at first glance :-) Reminds me of the police cars from the original Italian Job movie :-)
My family 1977owned Alfa just like this one it was so beautiful car the interior the engine everything was super cari wish they will make them the same style
Great car !! But It's definately older than 1971, in 1971 US models were all equipped with SPICA fuel injection, also the brake system had been updated to a dual system with hanging pedals, this one still has the single circuit brake system with floor mounted pedals and also has Weber carburetors. I suspect this car is a 1969 model and was was imported from Canada ( Speedo in miles )or Europe. (speedo in km ) I have a 1969 1750 GTV, owned since 1974, that has the same engine bay layout, and was imported into Canada in late 1968 as a 1969 model, it also came with Carello quarts halogen headlights which was a big surprise since all cars in those days had sealed beams. I love Alfa's beside the 1750 GTV I also have a 1966 Alfa Duetto with a high performance 2 ltr engine, every time I drive them they put a big grin on my face, They get an" Italian tune up" several times a year, the sound of these engines is so addicting !!

Ttxww,
And to be fair, it's a pretty nippy car. Considering it's from 60 odd year ago, it's not what you would call slow. Lovely little car. 😌

With the head rests and wooden steering wheel was the 2000 c.c , not the 1750. Greetings.

It was a great back then, used by the police and the robbers as well😅
The police would use the 1600 giulia super at the time and not the 1750 Berlina but the 1750 / 2000 were definitely popular with bank robbers .

Nice Berlina but not a 1971. Likely a 68 or 69. Note the pedals hinged at the floor and lack of cold air snorkel.
