- In the 137-year history of the automobile, there have been many that both captured our attention, and progressed to legendary status. But then there are others that, while coveted when new, are less well known to collectors of today. Now, one such car recently caught the eye of our own Roger Mecca, who decided this particular Italian coupe deserved a return to the spotlight.

When I saw the thumbnail I thought “wait, MotorWeek wasn’t around back then… was it?” Lol
In 1969 a local dealer handled both Jaguar an Alfa Romeo. My visit included a test drive of an E-Type and the 1750. I have to admit I fell in love with the E-Type, and to this day it's still my dream car. That said, when the salesman handed me the keys to the 1750, he said to have fun. If I was just going to putter around town, don't bother going out. He suggested some hilly, twisty nearby country roads. To this day, I can still clearly remember how much fun that test drive was.
8 years ago I obtained my dream car, '74 2.0 GTV. Almost finished with the restoration. Blessed )
I used to own a 1972 GTV2000 injection car, Plum color over tan. Painstakingly repainted in its original hue and everything else cleaned and polished to near perfection. The car was a little jewel and now lives with a Billionaire's wife near London, UK. Such a great little car.
I love this car !
Man what a beautiful car that is! One classic beauty and very highly collectible! They’re skyrocketing in price!
Yeah, though they seem to be going average 50K, not near 100K as MW states.
Such a gorgeous classic!
Thank you so much, in Europe, this car is a legend !
Greetings from France !
I miss the days when cars were small and easy to park.
Back at the time here in Italy there was a power limit to what you could drive for the first 3 years after getting the license, so the game was between the Alfa Junior 1.3 and the Lancia Fulvia coupé 1.3s. The Lancia won, and I really enjoyed it, but I would love to try out the Alfa... 😁
Fulvia coupe - another great toy, but FWD.
You can buy like 4 Fulvias for one GTV.
@@jareknowak8712 Yeah, but as a beginner's car a fwd was a safer choice. Oversteer came just if provoked, never unexpectedly, so it allowed me to get out of the first years alive... 😁Got a rwd Alfa years later; a 75. Totally appalling. A real let down.
Italian Classic at it’s best! 👍🇮🇹😎✌️
Beautiful this Alfa classic
Such a lovely little work of art.❤
MOLTO BENE!!!!!!!!
Love this section of Classics Reviews!!!
What a beauty.
Imo reminds me of the classic Jaguar on the sides and BMW 318 at least when the video popped up. I think I see some Aston Martin too. Nice, sporty, and classical.
Hey MotorWeek - make more classics vids like this one . 💯
Giugiaro’s first design was the Alfa Romeo 2000 (and 2600) Sprint.
This over a same period BMW 2002--am I wrong?
The 2002 is much roomier, the Alfa "backseat" is a joke. But the Alfa is a prettier car.
If you like Alfas check out the Roadster Life channel here on YT...tons of great vids on Italian classics like this GTV
Love ya MOTORWEEK
More reviews of classic cars please. Stuck to the '60s and '70s cars that still can be used regularly. Brands like Volvo, BMW, Jaguar, and Mercedes are still usable today and don't cost a fortune to buy and run. And review an electric classic conversion that is affordable by regular people.
I want a GTV 1750 myself
This Alfa wasn't the first designed by GG, that was the 2600 when he first joined Bertone.
it's a 1750 front and dash and a 2000 wheel and back end. this is how quick it is.
The US version is like that. In Europe only the 2000 had those big rear lights
Pretty car but someone needs to look underneath it
If you want one I’m helping an older gentleman find a buyer.
The steel wheels are the best of all.
These are alloy wheels, check them at 2:43.
...another one for which is too late to buy bc of the rise in prices :[
Quite a bit of resemblance to the Ferrari 330 GTC.
yep. regretful ex owner here...
