    I snuck a pair of biggo leeks into the San Jose show by hiding them in my jacket. The overwhelming scent of onion protected me from others as I spun them around lmao

    Me and my partner waited YEARS to go to Miku expo. And when we finally get to go, it's a damn screen...and buying tickets was such disorganized process that our seat ended up so far away that we couldn't even make out their faces or get light-sticks 😢😢😢.

  • @spluson
    @spluson Месяц назад +12

    Yea, the tickets were much more expensive this time around. When I went Miku Expo in 2018 it was literally $50-$60 without Crunchyroll’s help.

    My best friend and I have been Vocaloid fans for quite some time, about a decade I believe. It had been a dream to go to Miku Expo at some point, but by the time we were adults and could actually go out and do things, 2020 hit. So both of us were thrilled for this show. My best friend bought us VIP tickets for Toronto the day the presale went live. Looking back I feel so bad since they spent hundreds of dollars for these tickets. We had a lot of fun and still enjoyed our trip to the fullest but were highly disappointed that we didn't get to see the pepper's ghost illusion Miku is known to have. Not to mention how much of a mess the show was. They didn't bring enough VIP bags for the Toronto venue and so people at the back of the line didn't even get the extra merch they paid for. And after the show they rushed us out of the stadium as soon as the show ended since the ice was actually melting underneath. I got extremely lucky as my friend was nice enough to get me a lightstick (I wasn't able to order one myself) and we ended up at the start of the VIP line, but I feel bad for those who weren't as fortunate. I'm genuinely not sure what happened this year, be it Crunchyroll or Crypton's fault, but I hope they listen to the feedback and take better care of Expo next time. The fans didn't deserve the mess they got, and I hope the Europe leg goes better than the NA one did

    I really hope it gets better next year! I watched a lot of old Miku Expo videos during quarantine and really wanted to go one day, but after this year I don't mind waiting a little bit longer...
    Also I think Miku's light is green because it looks like a leek

    seeing all the nice footage of the concerts with glass screens really hit me with how dogshit the fucking tv was. already bad out of context but the footage right next to each other is so rough

    This whole situation just saddens me. This was the first time EVER where I'm able to attend an official Miku concert in the first place. So imagine my dissapointment when i bought my tickets for the Europe part of the tour only to see what's going down in the America part of the tour.
    Going to a Miku concert has always been a dream and now to have my first concert experience be "soured" makes me sad. I hope that this won't ruin the experience for me too much. I've heard that the vibes in the venue of the concert has been amazing so I'm just hoping despite everything I will have a good time...

  • @zoeyc5851
    @zoeyc5851 Месяц назад +5

    The LED screen will be used for the European tour. Ppl at SEGA have said that they decided on the LED screen because its easier to setup and is useful for big tours, which is fine but why didn't they notify fans?
    The management was really bad. For the Mexico leg (since you talked about Canada and America), VIPs got "locked in" as if you left the VIP area you wouldn't be able to go back in (which the official account tweeted about 2 hours after they let people in), the merch was even less than Canada and America and they had no light sticks (a huge part of the show)
    For the song-list, I don't know a few of the songs even though I'm a huge fan. The setlist for Magical Mirai 2023 had more songs I recognized strangely enough, with some classics and newer songs like blue planet, God-ish and culture shock.

    MikuExpo 2020 actually made it to Europe just before lockdown.
    I attended and it was beautiful.
    Still have the image of Miku right in front of me, with all the rest of my vision drowned out by blue stage lighting, burned in my mind.😊
    So when MikuExpo 2024 was announced for Europe, i bought VIP Tickets without hesitation. Only to regret it when the news dropped from North America, that they are using an LED screen and will continue to do so for Europe.😭
    That magic will never return.

    I attended the 2016 Miku Expo show in NY, and I can say if they ever bring the hologram back- GOOO! That concert was amazing. The energy was EXTREMELY high. I was in the standing pit area and got a pretty good view, even slightly to the right of the stage. I was actually going to buy tickets for this tour- but overslept and missed it entirely. I think I would have been so disappointed though, so I dodged a bullet. I'm really hoping they eventually go back to hologram tech, but it seems unlikely since CFM is aware of the disappointment. I am hoping though!!

    actually no
    Hatsune Miku, Len, Luka, Meiko etc are voicebanks you have to install separately and you compose in the Vocaloid software

    Personally, I can see why a disassemble-able panel screen could be favored over the large hard plastic screens they used for previous shows. Logistics wise it could be an absolute pain in the butt, and it’s way easier to disassemble a screen and reassemble a screen compared to transporting large acrylic panels and keeping them in a good enough condition. Also, I was there for the people and the live version of the music, I think that’s what makes the show so great in my opinion. Because without those aspects, it would be the same thing as watching her on our computer screens.

    Crunchyroll DOESN'T KNOW how to organize concerts. They fucked up with ADO and YOASOBI

    I feel like there are many nuances about this situation that, with further context, would make a lot more sense to more people. For instance, musicians generally don’t mind performing next to a 3D model; as musicians, we just want to rock out 😂. The screen shouldn’t be curved because, scientifically speaking, the angles wouldn't make sense. If it’s too curved, you would just see a reversed image of her. A flat screen would have the most optimal viewing angles and make the most sense. However, there are also valid points about how the show's experience wasn't amazing. Despite this, I definitely think it was a lot of fun.

    If anyone had a worse experience of Expo '24 than I did, I would like to know. While waiting in line in D.C. a group of individuals circulated a rumor misidentifying me as a known sex offender who attended the Atlanta show. I was pulled out of line by the manager of the Anthem and given a choice between a refund of an "upgrade" to a balcony seat which I would not be allowed to leave for the duration of the show. My attempts to prove my identity were brushed aside and when I revealed that I had a resale ticket which cost more than the "upgrade", the refund offer was withdrawn. I chose to leave rather than be on public display, watched by venue security, for the amusement of whoever started this vile nonsense.
    I've been a fan for 14 years and attended 2 Expos, and never seen an incident happen between older and younger attendees. I can't describe what it feels like to be accused of essentially being a pedophile among a crowd of 6,000 people, or being singled out and treated as such based on a schoolyard gossip circle. I'm very disappointed in a lot of people, and especially a lot of "responsible adults" who got suckered by this group. I'm currently seeking remedy from the management of the venue, but all of my correspondence has gone unanswered.

    i have never been to any official vocaloid concerts, but i have been to multiple fan made ones, where the tickets were free and the screen looks better than what i have seen of miku expo 2024 ... even concerts put together by fans don't just use a tv/led screen, it was some kind of projection/hologram

    THEY ARE STILL PARTNERING WITH CRUNCHYROLL. UGH.
    Also, I think that CFM have a LOT TO DO with this.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    before miku expo led, miku was being moved in par with crypton having a disagreement with yamaha. That's not even the bad part. Miku was being moved to Piapro Studio NT, a software like vocaloid only for cryptonloids(crypton vocaloids).
    Welp, that went bad. Miku's BETA NT bank that was to be released for an extended period of time was seen as 'a robotic miku' or 'not as human like as miku v4x'.
    I mean, why the hell did cfm make a good vocal a few years back, then absolutely destroy it later? But the worst part was when they released it for real. They made absolutely NO changes to it, you needed a bunch of tuning to make it sound right, and it was just straight down from here. People were more likely to buy older vocals than NT. The design was cute, though.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    So, this isn't the first time CFM dissed with miku. My theory is that since miku is HUGE, CFM will just do anything with her, because in their mind, miku will always be the most popular vocaloid, and whatever they do with her, the fans will always love her.
    I see miku being replaced by one of the VOCALOID6 vocals, like Hibiki Koto, or the older vocals, like MIRIAM from VOCALOID1.
    (Also Shiki Rowen the furry vocaloid was an utauloid 14 years back, i haven't listened to him but he is getting huge)
