Could be a number of reasons. Off the top of my head . . . 1. Maybe there was no odor of alcohol coming from him 2. Perhaps because they never saw him driving (some states are really picky about that one) 3. They might have thought that he wasn't exhibiting any of the tell-tale signs (slurred speech, glassy eyes, stumbling, etc.) Could be something entirely different, but I'd go with some combination of those three.

Do you notice they didn't enforced the rule in which if you get arrested they have the right to search the vehicle? In a lot of states i believe it's like that, don't know here.
I think he picked that the homeless guy up to get a quick $10 blow. Probably getting head and lost control. That's why he didn't want the dude to talk to the police.
"Don't hide from me buddy" LOL the cop was really trying to hide from him to since he was staring so hard haha. The declined handshake and fistbump moment was too funny "He's not here, don't worry" actuall comedy
He might be neurodivergent but that's not illegal. Walking towards cops isn't illegal either. Following their instructions and stopping isn't illegal. I'm not surprised at all at the comments. It blows my mind how all these same Americans that talk about their rights to the extent of letting mass deaths of school kids happen but in these situations suddenly the dude deserved to go to jail and pay a fine for doing what they asked? He stopped when they told him to stop. He was being very odd but he just got in a wreck, maybe he was nervous the homeless guy he picked up could have drugs and realized how bad that could be for him. You can get arrested if someone in your car has drugs. Whether you knew or not. Maybe he's worried because all his possessions are in that vehicle and he's short on funds because he's moving and he's afraid the tow fees will be too much because this is America and most of us can't afford that. This video should outrage people. He did nothing wrong. He followed a lawful order. Yeah he kept walking up to him. Clearly he's amped up after crashing the moving truck. Most people would be. I had a similar incident after an airbag to the face. I had trouble listening and following directions. I'm not normally like that. I tend to want all the space. I know now that it was shock and guess what? I didn't get arrested for pretty typical behavior after an accident because they realized I wasn't right and yanno other reasons..
Unpopular opinion: He might actually be telling the truth about going slow. If his entire house is packed into that U-Haul, the sheer weight and momentum could carry it quite a distance. Especially considering a slippery raining Road.
"I was just driving and suddenly the truck was in the building, for no reason!" Um....ya. This is hinky as hell, and i would be searching all of these guys, AND the truck.
Literally any reasonable pushback on the rhetoric of police officers and he gets called not peaceful. He is totally reasonable in asserting that the truck would be drivable once it was winched out of the wet snowy grass. The reasons the officers give for it being unsafe dont hold any water to me, and I dont trust that they are qualified to assess the safety or roadworthiness of a box truck that has been in a collision with a building. If the man was able to drive the car off the grass when asked if it was moveable, especially if shy of the interaction between this suspect and the officers, I doubt they would have made the same assessment of the vehicles safety. The fact that this mans name was put out there through the footage but the last names of the officers was censored is also problematic.
Dude, you were not arrested for helping your passenger. You were arrested for trying to intimidate the officers into getting your rental unstuck for you. When the officers tell you to keep your distance, and you constantly invade their personal space and are shouting at them the same nonsense as before... After they've told you what will be happening... the tow will come, and you pay or they pay and keep the vehicle. It was really that simple.
@@FireBluBramBram With what? They don't carry around tow straps in their cruisers. They are police officers, not tow truck drivers. The tow truck driver could get him out too and we all know it...

How do they NOT GIVE HIM FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS?
Could be a number of reasons. Off the top of my head . . .
1. Maybe there was no odor of alcohol coming from him
2. Perhaps because they never saw him driving (some states are really picky about that one)
3. They might have thought that he wasn't exhibiting any of the tell-tale signs (slurred speech, glassy eyes, stumbling, etc.)
Could be something entirely different, but I'd go with some combination of those three.
He seemed drunk to me he was definitely slurring his words I was shocked there was no field sobriety 🤷♀️
@@jemzb363 he may have been slurring his words because it was cold out... he didn't seem unsteady on his feet and he was certainly in close proximity to the officers so clearly no one smelled alcohol coming off of his breath *

They should have checked the entire u-haul, hes acting very suspicious
What are you insinuating?🤔
Do you notice they didn't enforced the rule in which if you get arrested they have the right to search the vehicle? In a lot of states i believe it's like that, don't know here.
They call it "taking inventory"
I bet they will, they usually fo before it's towed.

"Trying to be a good guy" means look for more victims.
Jeez the driver is wicked weird

Also Criminals: "Hear me out bro, we can make a deal"...while on body cam...
Dude, you were not arrested for helping your passenger. You were arrested for trying to intimidate the officers into getting your rental unstuck for you. When the officers tell you to keep your distance, and you constantly invade their personal space and are shouting at them the same nonsense as before... My bipolar detector is going off
Bingo!
Bipolar disorder doesn't entail "mood swings" like you see in media, it's not swinging from friendly to combative at a moment's notice, the episodes last anywhere from a week to month. This man is high on stimulants, not in a manic episode.
Every time someone’s emotional or doesn’t shut up, mood change it’s got to be bipolar. As someone who is bipolar, I can tell you it is so much more and there also different types. I get sick of people throwing out “well they must be bipolar”. Have you seen this generation? They act like this just because they’re an entitled brats or do to many drugs. It’s not always because they’re bipolar
@only1afton872 also, bipolar disorder doesn't usually cause rapid mood changes like that.
