  • Quick tutorial on how to boost fps in Starfield. note that this method makes textures more blurry, but at least its playable.
#Starfield is badly optimized to begin with .. just as most games nowdays, this problem comes from the fact that most things are "A.I." generated so devs dont have to put much work into things, but unfortunetely this means there won't be any optimization at all.
on the moment i saw that Starfield requires SSD, i knew it will be shit optimization. if devs are too incompetent to make game run off of HDD, then they surely won't put any effort towards other optimization.
but this method allows you to lower render resolution below 50%, which can significantly boost your fps.

Me too. I have a 3070ti, a i5-11400 and 32GB RAM and it's installed on a NVMe drive. With shadows at low I can manage around 40 fps on 1440p. And the game still looks worse than Fallout 4. DLSS would make all the difference - at 1440p, no ray tracing I can hit well over 60 fps consistently on the highest settings in Cyberpunk.

well you doing something wrong, i have GTX 1080 and i get 40-60+ fps with my modded files. people never look in description or pinned comments .. i have updated video on further optimization.
there's also low-texture pack available at nexusmods, it's 4.5gb for quarter and about 9.5gb for half. it doesn't make a huge difference, but my settings shown on other video make further improvements.
i force game into 1440p with FSR2 upscaling on 40-50%. on this video i show it on 30% at 4k, but that's worse than 1440p with 50%.
i can't imagine how you getting 40fps with 3070ti .. you should easily get solid 60. don't forget to follow all the steps i show or you might be stuck on older settings and check the updated video.

    • @SethiozProject

@TrueRennard 2060 is quite low tho, it's about same as gtx 1070 ti, which is their minimum requirement. devs nowdays expect 30fps with minimum setup, but you should be able to get over 30fps. i have GTX 1080, which is slightly better than 1070 ti and 2060 and i usually get 40+ fps anywhere, it drops below 40 very rarely.

just amazes me how poorly its optimised, i spent all of yesterday trying settings, monitors, resolutions, barely any fps difference. im on a 3090ti and in first city and starting area wasnt getting above 60 fps , in the first mission area 100+ but kinda a given. i just gave up trying ultrawide 1440p and stuck it on my 1080p monitor hoping it just benefits as i progress the game 😆

    • @SethiozProject
      @SethiozProject  Год назад +10

completely the other way around dear.. do you understand how computers work? difference between ssd and hdd?
i get so angry when people talk nonsense, a MODERN game should be OPTIMIZED and run better than jurassic games, that's how it works!
but "modern" games have 0-optimization, they hog resources for no reason at all. if you know how computers work, you'd understand this.
good example is: why do menus have more lag than actual game? when i open my inventory, i get 30fps, even tho in the area i'm at, i could have solid 60fps (like the moon base i was in). do you see anything better graphics-wise in the menu?
so why does it take twice the resources to render the menu? 20 year old games had better menus than starfield, so why do you need SUPER COMPUTER to render a simple menu that could be rendered on 20 year old PC?
can you not see how wrong this is?
also ship editor is very laggy and there's no background at all, there's no physics either. it's just drag and drop parts, even without any parts on ship, it still lags a lot more than gameplay itself.
how can you not understand any of this?
or explain to me, how did Dying Light 2 devs make it run so smooth? i can run it in 1440p on high or even ultra settings and i get solid 60fps.
or Forza Horizon 5, look at the graphics in there! it's far better than starfield and i can run forza horizon 5 in 4k with only 30-80% GPU use.
how can you say something that dumb . .is just beyond my understanding. please learn how computers work before saying nonsense like that. a well optimized game with same visuals would take 90% less resources to render same kind of graphics. that's a FACT. you're just used to crap software that is badly optimized ... just like all the websites nowdays, they make them BIGGER, SLOWER and EAT more resources for no reason at all.
websites nowdays take gigabytes of space, WHY? they just add all the garbage there cuz they are too dumb to program. same with games ... just please learn how computers work!
this nonsense just makes me so angry how people have 0 idea how computers work .. it's like those who say "GET MORE RAM TO RUN GAME IN 1000FPS!"

    • @lunchbox1553
      @lunchbox1553 Год назад +1

@@SethiozProject Before I say anything, yes the game is unoptimized, however, you're completely wrong about it being the other way around. If you don't have enough ram, then your pagefile will be used which means that when you have an hdd, your game will run slower than someone with an ssd.
You also make a ton of statements that paint a picture of you not knowing what you're talking about.
"explain to me, how did Dying Light 2 devs make it run so smooth? i can run it in 1440p on high or even ultra settings and i get solid 60fps.
or Forza Horizon 5, look at the graphics in there! it's far better than starfield and i can run forza horizon 5 in 4k with only 30-80% GPU use."
You are comparing multiple games with different game engines. Each game engine has its own capabilities. Starfield is made with creation engine, which is already known as an outdated engine in need of a massive overhaul, they claim they have already done this for Starfield, but we can obviously tell they lied or stretched the truth about that.
"websites nowdays take gigabytes of space, WHY? they just add all the garbage there cuz they are too dumb to program".
Websites can take gigabytes of space because most websites these days are dynamic and written with JS or similar languages rather than static html. The part that is taking up most of the storage is often the libraries that are used, or site content such as videos or images.
Now how you went from complaining about expecting an hdd to be an acceptable storage device for gaming in 2023 to complaining about websites makes me think that whole response is a joke.

@raymartin1912 by any chance are you using any auto-optimization tools? this sounds like the issue one of my friend's had long ago in GTA 5. he accidentally used some nvidia's optimization feature and it completely messed up his game. he was stuck on around 20fps aswell and he's no newbie with PCs, he tried reinstalling nvidia drivers and game, but nothing fixed it.
i think in his case he forgot to delete some setting files that are NOT deleted when uninstalling the game or nvidia drivers.
check your GPU usage, it should be like 20-30%, no more with 20fps. if it's close to 90% or above, then you have faulty GPU for sure.
but i suspect you have applied some auto-optimize via nvidia. geforce experience has this dumb auto-optimize garbage that does more damage than good.
could also be related to win11 if you have one. in win10 you should be able to turn on "gaming mode", maybe in win11 you have same. this should prevent any background trash from running when playing.
also windows itself has this "game bar" or whatever, this could interfere with it aswell.
i don't use any 3rd party garbage and i have it all disabled, hard to tell what the exact issue is, but it's definetely not the game causing this limit (unless you somehow limited your FPS to 20 in some .ini files)

They ask people to put it on an SSD so it doesn't need direct SYSTEM memory to run. It was a suggestion to help it not crash on mid and up rigs due to memory capping. As per your example dying light 2 is a much much SMALLER game with a lot less going on under the hood at any given moment, to a point they even developed it on the exact same engine used for DL1 and DI/DIR (Different Devs same Engine). @onisensei443 i don't care what tech they used. final result is BAD and runs like a donkey. starfield runs 4-5x WORSE than well optimized games from 2019-2023 (such as far cry 6, forza horizon 5, dying light 2, cyberpunk 2077 ..etc) are you saying that modern games should run 4-5x WORSE than older games that had even better graphics?
look at some resident evil games, character models are amazing. beyond two souls was released 2013 on ps3 and it has better character graphics.
i get the point of running it directly from ssd, but clearly it isn't working. game crashes all the time, still stutters and maps are smaller than in many other games. map size is about 4x4km. go ahead and try, land and then walk in same direction. once you get about 2000-2500 meters from ship, you'll encounter invisible wall.
this tech is worse than from before 2010, they have open world with LOADING SCREENS, how pathetic is that?
you're missing the ENTIRE point, who cares about what they use or how they did it? imagine going to a fast food restaurant, ordering a burger and fries .. it takes them 30 minutes to make it, you get only half baked burger with raw parts, sauce is under the burger, so bottom bun is soaked, while there's nothing in middle, fries are all un-even and cooked at different levels, one is crispy, one is soft and next is raw potato.
and on top of that you get flat soft drink that tastes like donkey's bottom hole.
would you smile and say "thanks, this new tech is really awesome, keep up the good work"? or would you say "give me my money back"?
ever heard about "don't re-invent a wheel"? this is exactly what starfield is trying to do. we have amazing games that run smooth as butter, but they have to use some nonsense and make a game that runs worse than donkey riding a snail. stop defending a game that is BADLY optimized. or well, unoptimized.

To be fair the game is not "Badly Optimized". Todd and Bethesda both stated it was made with "THE LATEST TECH IN MIND". We currently sit at the edge of true next GEN tech for PC and Consoles as such Starfeild (Which was made on a NEW NEXT GEN GAME ENGINE (Creation Engine 2) not the same one as Skyrim and Fallout 4(Creation Engine 1)) was made with future proofing in mind. Most people who complain about the state of the game went into it with rigs that did not meet the recommended settings, or had to much eating up there GPU/CPU usage prior to game launching. On the streamer side obviously it won't run well even on a high end rig the stream soft and game will fight over ram and CPU usage. I played it just fine on a 9 year old mid spec rig from cyberpower PC with solid 30-32fps (Partly because I'm not an idiot who obsesses over FPS which should only matter to people who play games professionally or competitively anyway. 30fps is perfectly fine for normal play). They even went so far as to make a custom GPU just for the game I really don't see how they could have been ANY clearer about the SPECs needed. Everyone should just stop now anyway making mods or overplaying the game now is pointless, Bethesda always drops 4 major DLC per game (They actually made and not published) and everyone will invalidate mods. I only played during the 5 day pre-run then opted to drop it till all 4 come out so the entire game is still fresh when I run the DLC. The most common thing that ruins games these days are gamers not devs lol

more nonsense by an IDl0T who has no common sense. here ruclips.net/video/QIc4QK6NpIk/видео.html you can see games with similar graphics run smooth as butter.
those games run smooth in 1440p and 4k on 5400rpm hdd and have no problems, so what is the point of this "latest tech" that is worse than "old" tech? are you one of those no brainers who thinks that "modern" tech should run worse and cause more problems?
just stop talking nonsense if you don't understand anything. nobody cares what tech they use, what i care about is final result, which in starfield is slow, constant crashes, requires 4x more powerful PC to get 60fps than in any other game with same or better graphics and it won't even run from ssd.
no brainers like you just make me mad. every developer obviously finds excuses and lies, have you ever heard any developer say "yes we are lazy and did bad programming"? they have to make up excuses and no brainers like you believe every word they say, while TRUTH is that they released it half-cocced with spaghetti code.
think you're so smart? lets start by you answering what RAM means, what it's used for and how it works. then answer what is the difference between VRAM and RAM.
then answer what is more important, SPEED of RAM or AMOUNT of RAM if you want to get better performance.
and then answer: what determines the max speed of your RAM that you can benefit from (you can have faster, but you won't benefit from), so what component in your PC bottlenecks that?
and also what tools do you use to monitor your resource usage? how do you analyze whetever game is badly optimized or not?
I'm 100% sure you can't answer any of those questions without asking from an "expert". if i'd ask you those in person without you having the ability to look them up first, you'd just stand there with your mouth open like oOOO what does any of that even mean.
