    Michael J. Fox used to be one of my favorite actors.
    Now, he's one of my favorite human beings.

    Michael J Fox changed my outlook on life after reading "Always Looking Up". His words got me out of depression and I became optimistic. If I could say two words to him, I'd say "Thank You".

      Agree with you... am reading it at moment - what a man! Always liked him but now more so than ever before... what COURAGE!!! What SELFLESSNESS!!!
      Wonderful... characterful... real mensch...
      Love how he doesn't give narcissistic lowlife bully morons like RL the time of day but rather talking about more important things like the vital subject matter at hand...
      MJF has always been a nice guy but phew... he has surpassed the mark in this interview!!!
      Huge hug from a huge fan in Cape Town...

      I'm reading it now, excellent book

    • @MrTaikobo
      @MrTaikobo 10 месяцев назад

      @traceyurban9482 I'm glad you're reading the book. As other comments brought up, MJF is just a wholesome guy who sees the silver lining in anything, and it puts things into perspective. Like the thing Rush did was idiotic, and now that we know more about Parkinsons, I'd like to think more people are better educated about this condition.
      For a personal note, I read the book back in 2012 in my senior year of high school and... well, I was in a low place, and 5 years later, I almost died of an asthma attack that became a heart attack. Since I've recovered, I have tried to stay positive like MJF does, and I appreciate the life I have because you never know when it'll be snatched from you. At the time of writing this, I'm 29 going on 30, and I think, "Wow, I'm still here, and I have the love and support of all the people in my life. I'm not alone."
      I make it a ritual to read this book once a year so I can keep going. But I definitely think you should check out his other books. His conversational tone and wit really make you feel like someone is talking to you and guiding you.

    Whenever I see Michael, I have a hard time not crying. I was such a huge fan of his when he was on Family Ties and Spin City. And seeing him now, it just makes me well up. What amazes me is how with many Parkinson's patients, when they get into the groove of things, they can get into control. I have seen Michael on so many things today and he gets into such control that it's hard to believe that he's actually sick.
    But still, I will always love him. He is such a brave man.

    I love how in every interview you see him in, and you can see the WAY he is sitting, he still sits professionally. Regardless of what his Parkinson's is doing he keeps his stature professional and doesn't get his back up when someone "attacks" him. He if professional and straight forward with his opinions. From someone who suffers from Dystonia I can say proudly, that people like Michael J. Fox and my mother don't let their disorder rule their lives. They make the best of it and move forward.

    Absolutely! Full respect for what your doing, Michael. You were one of my favorite actors as a kid in the Back to the Future films and my respect for your work has only increased as I've grown into adulthood. Thank you so much for sacrificing such things as personal pride to bring about knowledge of this terrible disease. My grandfather suffered from Parkinsons for my entire life and passed away a few years ago, as such I am sympathetic to yours and all cases. Hopefully soon a cure can be found.

    Just read his memoir 'Lucky Man'. Mike is more than a great actor, he's a very readable and real author. He's very honest about his Hollywood journey ( even the mistakes) and his battle with Parkinsons. I think he's incredibly brave to now appear on TV shows when he is unable to control his body and doesn't know if the meds he's taken are gonna kick in on time. I hope that the Foundation do spearhead the research to find a cure ( and the still mysterious cause)

Because of my story and singing on line, it is now being tested by a leading hospital in Australia. Even when we are faced with a challenge, we all have something that we can give back. Every time I lose an ability, I gain a new one..to keep vocals and mental capacity, hard work, meds and Prayer...Scotty
