      I’ve done a few bits of plastic welding. If your adding material make sure it’s the same as your welding.
      Nice tutorial.
      Powerful blower Bill. I saw the bushes in the background moving 😄

    Nice fix. You did good having a thick enough tank to rob plastic from. It’s hard to find plastic that is compatible then won’t bond. Just sits on top. I’ve done this to lawn mower hoods also impregnating fine wire into the crack for strength. Well done. This is not hard to do while saving money. I don’t think twice about it for my own stuff.

      You are on the money. I have seen a few suggestions about using outside material, but people don't consider that plastic isn't just plastic, and different sources will react differently to temperature changes

      I'll see what I can do. When I was outside running stuff with no cabs and no heat I'd let it grow and cut it off in the spring. I get Toots to just buzz it now, no guards on the clippers. I used to do it but the hands won't turn inside out any more and my head needs a lot of help.@@GuysPlayingWithTools

    Doing the line is just like doing a v groove in metal welding. It gives you more area to put in more fill material

    Great job.You can use cable ties.

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  Год назад +1

      I suppose you could, for tanks that are too thin to steal material from, that would work well

    • @johnanthony2545
      @johnanthony2545 Год назад +1

      Cable ties are often not compatible material. It just sits on top with little or poor bond. Sometimes you get lucky. There are many forms of plastic or plastic like materials. If ties don’t work trim a piece off a five gallon bucket lid for filler. Not the same as tanks or ties yet may be a better alternative that bonds. Experiment with what ever you have till you get a good bond then go make the repair. Bill did well have a thick tank to work with.

    I know Seal-all works from the inside but I never tried it on the outside of anything but I slept recently and not responsible for much of anything. We had a good frost last night that you could actually see so winter must be here. And you had an inch of space for fuel before fixing the crack which is plenty for an extended work period of 30 minutes and then break time for a rest and filling the inch up again. Don't freeze, Pal!

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  Год назад

      This trick checks all the boxes, faster, easier and cheaper. The only drawback is that you can still fill the tank all the way up and breaks don't come as often LOL
