My father used to watch him everyday. I was so happy when he got fired. Tucker’s nonsensical yelling gave me a lot of anxiety.
The faster the Murdouchs go away the safer the world will become. I doubt that there is a an individual who personally made so much harm to the world as Rupert Murdouch did.

To a certain extent, however the people who constantly listen to FOX did not get their views from FOX. They already had their views. FOX just parroted them back to them in order to make them watch consistently.
Point made, but it's actually ridiculous when you consider the millions of people killed by the foreign policy establishment in Iraq (the Kurds, the children and old people in the 1990s, Baghdad and surrounding areas in the 2000s), to say nothing of Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, and on and on.
And the list of offenders is diverse and long.

Murdoch owns 70% of media in Australia. We were set to have fibre to the home for internet access, which would have made us one of the fastest internet access countries in the world. Murdoch didn't like that, he sees the internet as competition for his empire, so he had his goon party scuttle that and we ended up with some of the slowest internet in the world.
His goon party is called the Liberal Party. Their policies are written by a group called The Institute of Public Affairs (IPA), which had Keith Murdoch (Rupert's father) as one of its founders.
Grace and Chloe Murdoch have no control or power in the empire because the four older Murdoch children pushed them out. They felt Wendi, Chloe and Grace's mother, was a gold digger and didn't want her to have access via her children. Their mother, Wendi is said to have become Putin's mistress after she split from Rupert.

The Liberal Party of Australia, despite what the name suggests because liberalism is a centrist ideology, is a center-right to right-wing conservative political party and has a joint coalition with the other conservative political party the National Party of Australia.

Tucker's abrupt removal was just the tip of the iceberg for their sinking ship. Just like most cable news (or just cable overall) it's basically getting as low as a limbo game. Regardless of what you think of Tucker and his opinions, you can't deny that he brings in the viewers that his former colleagues didn't get and can get a viral reaction both from the right and left for differing reasons.

I dont understand why ppl watch Fox News?! I watched it once and felt my IQ diminishing by the minute. They dont report on the whole truth and the best they do is take part of the truth (10%) and spin it into this unbelievable properganda story. Tucker would bring up stories that other Fox News hosts don't ... often these were about everyday Americans bullied, banned, censored and fired from employment, simply for their political views ... additionally, his sarcastic tongue-in-cheek monologues were excellent.

@@unvergebeneid I do a lot of volunteer work. In the volunteer space, nobody gives a sh1t what gender, nationality, age you are, what qualifications you have, or who is in your family tree. They just appreciate what you can contribute, and really enjoy it when you can learn something from them. It restores my hope in humanity!

I think there are legal reasons why the appearance of there being no one behind the wheel for the last few years, according to a recent biography Rupert has always been a micromanager and the ultimate authority. The idea of it all falling apart, well I can't think of any downside to that.

There are some similarities with Succession, but when I saw they were eyeing Middle-Eastern money to take the company private I thought "No way!". Apparently this is new info from an upcoming book, but the exact same thing was done in the series in season 2, which aired mid 2019, so 4(!) years back.
Even the sibs characters are matching up to the IRL versions:
Shiv/Elizabeth wants to sell
Ken/James wants to adapt/lead the company
Roman/Lochlan wants the world to burn
Connor/Prue is not that involved
I haven't watched Succession and I don't have any insight in the Murdoch family, but I can tell you that Middle Eastern financiers buying out publicly traded business has been a repeating pattern since the 2010s. The oil industry is inherently unstable and has an expiration date and the people who have made their wealth from it are painfully aware that once it collapses so will most the ultra-wealthy, but totalitarian and corrupt states which were built on its success. Their mad scramble to buy any western business they can get their hands is essentially the rats trying to build a boat for when they flee the ship.
His Citizenship should be revoked, then deport the scum.

Personally, i believe that news is actually a luxury, its good to have but its not exactly what you need to survive. We have been seeing signs of dropping luxury expenditures for years now, movie theaters, high end cars, theme parks and more require personal capital and alot of them rely on as much on the lower class as the middle. And if people's wallets are degrading to the point of choosing between keeping the lights on or have running water, nobody is going to be taking trips or having that fine sit down on the table that talking heads were complaining about during covid.
We are very fortunate currently, it has not been that bad, yet. However, we still need wage reform in order to do things varying like buy a news paper, or go to a movie more often.
So in short, Murdoch basically a lying and defending the very people who have caused this entire economic crisis, he is basically sucked his own dick, and now without realizing it he is setting up the downfall of his legacy. I have a saying for this "When operating on a basis of evil or just general self-serving greed, the enemy of you enemy is NEVER your friend." I'm assuming Murdoch didn't seem to realize this. Then again, most billionaires especially stupid, arrogant, vain, insecure, and narcissistic old men and their sheltered and completely out of touch children never seem to understand this.

In fact in the context of most other western countries weather it be Canada, Australia or the EU FOX would be a hard right news outlet. That a lot of Americans see FOX as "center right" shows how much the public debate (thanks to outlets like FOX and political arsonists like Trump) has already shifted to the right. (Former newspaper designer here... maybe it's the dummy copy on your sample pages, but you might want to flush left the copy in the columns, increase hyphenation, or reduce the type size-there are rivers down the column. A lot of tabs ditched justified as the column width on the smaller page became too small. Probably misremembering, but I think that's what the Times and Guardian papers did... back under Blair!)

Next time I would focus on advertising, rather than viewership, to define their primary success metric.
That makes the lest amount of money for the channel. They make the most money from getting the channel syndicated - I am sure TLDR did a video on where the money comes from

Rupert will be fine, He can buy Fox studios back off Disney for half of what he's sold it. With the Hulu deal soon set to expire. Disney is in need of some emergency funds
I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Disney and for that matter MANY media conglomerates are extremely protective of their IPs. They were rather sit on them while having no direct use for them until their businesses go bankrupt than sell them off or even license them for that matter.
It’ll be hilarious seeing how he’d handle the Marvel stuff though unless Disney kept the X-Men. Because the last two FOX films were nothing to really talk about and their handling was poor at best. The only thing that would keep it alive are the Avatar films, Kings Men, and their TV shows. Which would be a major loss to Disney Plus if the Simpsons leaves, because I’m not convinced the service is really getting much usage beyond their big hits.
I can’t really think of any Fox movie I’ve actually seen in a theatre besides the latest Avatar. The last X-Men I seen was in 2014. Their other movies just aren’t interesting like the other studios.
Honestly doubt Murdoch would take FOX made shows off Hulu because that’s free money basically. But I could see him taking the Sony route streaming wise than a dedicated service. Even though he owns Tubi, I can’t foresee it being made into an umpteenth paid single studio streaming service that will flop in a few years. Probably will distribute everything to the main services that exist and with Netflix downsizing its animation portfolio, I could see him bringing back FOX Animation Studios in some capacity.
Guess that means there’d be a Book of Life sequel or an El Tigre reboot that properly combines Jorge Gutierrez’s fractured universe from his work into a single cohesive whole. Beyond their other animated properties like Ice Age and so on.
If he really wanted to screw Disney, he could take all the FOX library to one of their competitors. Which would be hilarious.
