    Will i get the exact same result for the model if i cut the paper into a hexagon?

    • @jonakashima
      @jonakashima  7 лет назад +62

      The shape will be the same, but the problem is that the brown side will be visible in the middle of the petals. That excess paper helps covering it
      If you're going to cut it, I recommend using a paper yellow on both sides and a smaller brown sheet to cover only the middle hexagon (for a 20x20 yellow sheet, use a 10x10 brown sheet of paper). No need to glue them, just make the pre-creases on both papers and put the brown sheet on top of the yellow sheet before collapsing (11:15)

      Jo Nakashima - Origami Tutorials thanks for the reply..i guess ill just fold it with a square piece of paper then haha... i thot not cutting it wud make the model more thicker and hard to fold.

    Nakashima-sensei, I think I've folded between 30 and 40 of the models from your tutorials. This one is really interesting with lots of amazing collapses, especially at the end. This one really challenged me and my result was lackluster. However, I wanted to thank you for all of your hard work designing models and tutorials. It's been a delight to explore the world of origami with your guidance.

    • @Nokduro1
      @Nokduro1 Год назад +2

      perhaps you’re using paper that’s not so good for this model. make sure it’s not too thin nor too thick.
      as for the folding part itself.. dont try and force it, let the paper slide into place. I know that sounds hard but one thing in origami that never works is trying to force a fold.
