2012- 677
2016- 644
2018- 503 - and 8 of them "weren't ready"
(Guess where those 8 were located!?!?)
2020- 175 (however, they try to say that because they are now open multiple days.... That it makes up for it!)
2022- 121!!!
The Navajo Nation is HUGE! (Square Mileage wise)
At more than 18,000 square miles, the Navajo Nation alone is larger than any other reservation in the country. But it has only 27 postal locations, some of them open 3-4hrs/day.
This is roughly equivalent to having 13 mailboxes in the entire state of New Jersey OR 1postal location per 681 square miles on the reservation, compared with 1per 15 square miles in Scottsdale!
POLLING locations - EARLY ballot DROP OFF locations- 1 per 1,532 square miles on the reservation, VS 1per 17 square miles in Scottsdale
Election Day voting sites -1 per 306 square miles on the reservation compared with one per 13 square miles in Scottsdale.
People in Scottsdale can EASILY drive to any location. While the Diné people have significantly MORE commute-based issues, and that doesn't even break ice on Language barriers, and voter ID issues.
2016- My husband and I lived in a zip code (in North Phoenix) that was truly middle class. From our apt we had 5 voting stations within 2.5 miles.
2018- we moved to South Phoenix, an area that a decade prior was farm land, mobile homes, and very low income. After the housing bubble, the area became THE SPOT to begin building and it became THE SPOT to start expanding housing.
When my husband and I moved to S.Phx. we had 2 polling stations with a 5mile radius.
2022- we had 1 polling station 6miles away!!!!!!
Can you take a wild guess what the ethnic spread of N vs S Phoenix is....?!?!?!
My friends who live in Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills - all VERY AFFLUENT areas.... They had 5-8 polling stations within a 5mile radius!!!!

The “both sides do it”, “two wings of the same bird” arguments do not apply at this time, as valid as they may have been. Only ONE party has decided to swear allegiance and fealty to single man. And for the rest, Dems are just as guilty of maintaining the status quo. They had 50 years to protect Roe v Wade, for example, and then it still got axed. And they're STILL talking about compromising with Republicans and working across the aisle. At this point, that's just being complicit.

I agree! My sense of humor aligns most closely with Seth's, anyway, but it's more than that. Every episode teaches me something new or gives me a new perspective to consider. (Watch the Rutger Bregman interview when you're feeling down about your fellow humans). Not to mention the Corrections community, the effort that goes into creating a show with diverse perspectives and the work that's been done to build a space where guests feel comfortable being vulnerable. This is a special show with a special host.
