Jimi had speed but didnt care about speed. Jimi had skill plus technique didnt care so much about it. Jimi had finesse...didnt care he made mistakes. Jimi had raw soul and just let it flow baby!
This is one of my favorite songs by Jimi Hendrix- I know, William Bell wrote it. In recent years I've started watching people play his songs on RUclips and it gives me insight into how his fingers may have played the songs. Truthfully, it makes me appreciate him all the more- what a musician, what a feel he had. Plus it makes me appreciate his mind all that more because it was his mind that came up with how he played stuff. The man had so much soul. First heard him when I was about 15 and I was immediately hooked. I'm now 65 and he's still my favorite musician hands down. Sooner or later, I always go back to Jimi. His music is like an addiction; I have to have a dose and when I do, I'm good. Thanks so much for the cover a la Hendrix. Great job,
Among my family and friends I engulfed Jimi in isolation. At age, cough cough, for a long time I thought I was alone in my cosmic idolatry of The Master, times when I could never get enough. And its taken more years of digging around You Tube to begin to fully appreciate I am not alone in my pious adulation of his skills to the near exclusion of all others. Latterly, I have noticed the Jimi Hendrix: Blues album is finally getting an airing. It's consigned my aged cassette of this album to the museum. Good to hear and see others do justice to his notes. Now, if only I can get my friends and siblings to take note.
Are you kidding me. First, my ex got me this in CD for my birthday about when it was released. Maybe a few years later. But, I put it in and played the whole album over and over. I know this note for note. I've never seen anyone nail this with your precision. You not only have the notes down, you got jimi's feel. His emotion. Second: I consider myself a pretty fair guitar player. I learn by ear. And when I listen to your riffs, my ear is telling me, I will never be on your level. That's okay. Because I still enjoy playing. But I will get some licks if you keep this video up long enough. And thirdly, thank you. That was a pleasure.
I was born deaf and raised to know the music. I was amazing the fingers move you tunes. Now I understand why Jimi does his best of music. Thank you for the blue guitar cover.
@@boxing-bm3zz you're one of those morons who say the 12-bar blues is easy but have no idea how to even get past the first 12 bars without sounding like garbage.
Bro just literally played the notes without any of the technique. I'll admit he did a damn good job playing the notes, but him uploading this also shows just playing the notes ain't gonna get you the weird and out there sounds Jimi could do. By no means am I saying this guy sucks though, just playing the notes is like 60% there (A lot for a Hendrix song), I hope he's still playing, would love to see him take another shot sometimes.
Great rendition. This captures Jimi's essence so well..❤ Makes me even more amazed about Jimi Hendrix as if that were even possible... Just think.. Hendrix played this piece straight from his mind as a jam....
This is pure dedication to honour such a complex and difficult masterpiece performed but the G.O.A.T . Man your commitment to learning and executing this piece is awe inspiring 🙌
Great job! This version can be found on the Jimi Blues album where he covers the essential blues. i would assume alot of fans are unaware of these great pieces because they dont have the cd/music...Jimi did so much great non-radio music. Thank you sir for your craft and doing Jimi proud.
Thanks for posting that video. You really nail it . This entire album has always been one of my favorites ever since it came out in the 90's. I've tried to find out how Jimi plays blues songs by watching lots of videos, but hey are almost always showing a wrong way to play Jimi blues. Your videos are always showing the exact way Jimi played blues licks. You must have an amazing memory to be able to play songs like this one all the way thru like that. Also your video list of songs is very impressive. Thanks for doing such good work on all of these videos. I will show my thanks on your Patreon account.
Fair fucks for transcribing the whole thing. Great playing and sound. How Hendrix came out with this stuff is just amazing. So many unique bends and techniques
Fantastic job. Don't get me wrong commenters, but this is not as hard to play as it seems. Jimi's use of different FX and tones make the song sound tougher than it really is. Getting those exact fx and tones down is what is so impressive here. Wow. Still, when Jimi played this with his feel and passion, it was blues come alive. This is pretty note-for-note, but no cover can ever have the same passion. It's the same when anyone covers SRV.
Thank for sharing! What a fine rendition of Jimi! First I was resistent to click on it, ‘cause some songs lose their magic when they are objectified especially this song. Best way to put it, Jimi narrates whole emotional spectrum of ‘Born under a bad sign’. It is so raw it is hard not to feel Jimi once you get into the groove where each passage, tone and phrasing has its story. It is also soul cleansing once you aware of the world and be part of it and accept it then you show your surroundings respect!
Wow! F’n amazing!! Geezuz 🤯 the best cover I’ve ever seen. Mind blowing cause its pretty much spot on 👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve watched this 6 times in row already now. 👏🏼👏🏼
from the opening note Jimi was singing without vocal, not playing guitar, so no one can emulate that even if somebody could do it ghost note for note. Other covers which Jimi vocaled and played (Mannish Boy or Like a Rolling Stone) are faster yet easier to copy than this one

Exactly, music sweet music 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶
Jimmy was very high
Probably, but so's my buddy, and he ain't no Jimi 🤣🤣🤣
It's those little mistakes that made it more musical imo

Albert King didn't write the song at all.
@@hesch-tag Thanks. William Bell did. Corrected it.
@@victorbrown3570 Yes and Booker T Jones.
holy shit. respect man, jimi killed this song. you’re right on par. one of my favorite jimi songs
Albert King. It's an Albert King song.
on par ?!!?!
@@ADBVoiceActing it is an albert king song. that’s why he said he killed it. he did a good job of covering the song.

Jimi was light years ahead. Well done on this rendition.
i really really respect this guy for doing his thing perfectly without any bullshit. your lessons are amazing as well as your playing!!
One of my all time favourite Hendrix tracks and you did it justice and then some.... wow that was impressive great work 🙏.
Just 12 bar blues its not really hard

I can play it over and over and over again and I won't get tired of it!!!!!!💙💙💙💙
This sounds good! I just found born under a bad sign yesterday by Jimi, LOVE it!
Smooth.
Love the sound he gets on this and Once I Had a Woman so much.
I’d love to see you do that one too.
Damn, man. I thought Stevie Ray Vaughan was the only one who could do Jimi Hendrix stuff. This Is the best I have heard in years.
