At first I wondered why he picked her...but after watching her on a few podcasts, I 100% understand. She is brilliant. Nicole Shanahan seems like someone who could and would talk to anyone and make them feel important. That says a lot about her humanity and I value that. In that sense, she is a lot like RFK Jr. They will make a great team.
People are not giving Shanahan enough credit. She is a self-made woman who started her own AI firm while she was still in law school and built it into a multi-million dollar business.
We should all be so competent and generous as she is.
I appreciate she showed us that she is a person with emotion and empathy. I love and admire she shows she can be soft and emotional, intelligent and strong. She's a real woman and a great example for little girls in today's crazy mixed up world.

Success in business is not a good measure of character. Her former company ClearAccess IP facilitates corporate patent management. I'm not sure what that did for humanity. Also, marrying investors and Google founders probably didn't hurt her career. I need more to convince me that her philantropy isn't just PR management as is so common these days.

It would be refreshing to have someone who grew up poor and realized the American Dream in a position of power. The Pelosis, Schumers, Trumps, and Biden's of the world will never know the quiet desperation that comes with not knowing how, despite all that you do, to provide for your family.

To name Trump among the reptiles that have never held a private job is intellectually dishonest and myopic. Of all the people that have run for this office, Trump most certainly connects with the hard hats and line workers of America. Growing up poor doesn't mean a thing, in most cases. I did, and it didn't win me any prizes.
Shanahan is a nice person, I'm sure. But Carter was nice, too, and completely in over his head.

I like that her background is the antithesis of RFK Jr. it brings balance. However, I’m not so interested in WHO or WHAT she is, I’m interested in what she has DONE and how she’s going to bring that experience to the position of VP.
I love that she’s already very interested in children’s health and the chronic disease epidemic. I love her interest in regenerative agriculture and that she funded ‘Kiss The Ground’ and ‘Common Ground’ movies, two of the most significant pieces of generally accessible information on agriculture, ecosystem health and food production.
The idea she can use her experience and knowledge of AI to get to the bottom of the causes of chronic disease, and perhaps test nutrient the density of food (not something food corporates want) excites me.
That she could steward the development and roll-out of AI in the US and play a part in framing Global agreements on it I find highly reassuring. AI is coming in the next decade and we urgently need someone at ‘the top’ who understands it and has worked in it.
Can anyone believe that a Biden (Harris?) or Trump administration will do anything other than leave the development of AI to the corporates who will use it solely to their own advantage and to the detriment of the average American?

As a former Republican (raised dogmatic Christian conservative) I can tell you for certain that phrases like “social justice” automatically flip their switch from being able to hear to refusing to hearing anything. Even the word “environmentalism” turns them off. Maybe use/offer words like “resource stewardship” and “opportunity equality” because those phrases can be heard by most everyone.

What I find nuts is that people would be willing to dismiss such an absolute wonderful candidate over ONE phrase or issue, or even his vp pick in general..when the other two are a whole pile of dung. I can understand why people are 🤔 over the social justice, the left has taken it to a level that doesn't seem fair across the board, focusing on race. I don't think she means it in that way so she'll really need to clarify that bc we do need some social justice for us lower and middle classes. However, it baffles me how anyone could oppose environmentalism, unless of course they're a polluting business/Corp or a government official being paid off by one. What I've seen tho is that many people think that climate change is the end all, be all of environmental issues. It is not fair that illegal immigrants are flooding in and undercutting the wages of hardworking Americans and trying to usurp the system that legal immigrants have abided by. The only way to make it fair is to seal the border. That's what she was talking about.

What I do know is Nicole grew up poor. Once she came into financial gains, she immediately started investing in health and trying to solve problems.
I may not agree with all of her views but I truly believe she absolutely wants to make a difference and is willing to spend her own money to see a better America.

Imagine intelligent and capable people running America.
She seems like a genuine and caring person. However I can't help but be apprehensive about 1) A billionaire 2) A Silicon valley mogul and 3) A social justice warrior.
Oakland is a prime example of everything wrong with progressive soft on crime policies. How does she feel about criminal justice? Is incarcerating violent criminals and thieves racist? Is securing the border racist? In places like Oakland and New York the answer is a deafening YES while in the rest of the country we are horrified by this bizarre "just be nice" impulse the left has.
