I don't think I have an addiction to carbs, but I do have the urge to eat about 9pm usually the time I take my nightly minerals and bp pill...I do like sardines and carnivore snacks. I feel justified in doing so, because it is a carnivore snack. When I started this journey of losing weight and finding a cure to heart problems and a stroke this year. My life changed just from what I was eating. Today I am only 15 pounds from my BMI. A year ago I was 75 pounds over weight. I do the Keto-Carnivor diet because I can still have my black coffee in the morning and eat only Lunch and Dinner between 8 hours and have NO cravings at all anymore 😊 I'am very happy with the Keto-Carnivor and will want to do the Carnivor lifestyle later when my body is ready for it🤗🙏

My morning bridge is definitely black coffee and I find myself putting a few moments thought into picking a mug (from my collection) - now I know why! On hot summer afternoons I typically enjoy one or two cans of “Bubly” drinks - carbonated water and a hint of flavor, but no sweeteners. I prefer the cheap version sold at Aldi.
I have heard you talk about using a bridge before but for some reason it took this time. Thank you. I need something late afternoon, I check with myself and it’s not hunger so I need to change the habit. Think this habit started with after school snacks and just carried itself into the rest of my life. I’ve learned so much from you and am very grateful. My doc never drew the labs you recommend on me, prior to me asking, and I’m sure would not know how they relate to one another. I can read my labs now thanks to you saying what’s to high, what’s just right, and what not to worry about. I'm enjoying your videos first off. Otherwise, I don't like black coffee but I do like coffee with heavy cream and a few drops of coconut flavored Stevia. Yesterday I had my last cup of coffee and cream. I've done without coffee before so I can do it again to see where I can go. I started carnivore on July 5th and lost 26 lbs from 300 lbs during the first month or so. The last several weeks I have stalled and even gained back 4 lbs. I'm not cheating at all. So I am experimenting to see what leaving the coffee and cream does for me. I'm seldom hungry either after eating once a day while I was having coffee with cream in the morning. In the beginning I seemed to crave butter but now not so much. Right now, I don't feel so well but I'm sure it's the lack of caffeine. I'll see how I sleep tonight too.
I love black coffee and iced tea and coffee but I wish they made things like Chrystal lite without artificial sweeteners because most of those beverages contain them
For me IF was/is important to my success, because it removes the change of snacking. It gave me a solid reason to resist snacking. It wasn't just because I should, but I had to in order to do IF! Right along with it is quitting highly processed foods. Who mindlessly snacks on chicken breast, hummus, and broccoli?
Attempting to lose weight is the primary cause of gaining weight. Obesity is a body type, not a disease or an addiction. Not everyone who overeats gets fat. Processed plant based cr@p will make anyone sick, whether they gain weight or not. Anxiety and depression come from what you eat. So chemical dependence is part of this. It's not just habit and addiction. For some, all they need is knowledge of zero-carb. Without this knowledge, all the exercise and calorie counting in the world can not help you. Cooking can become a hobby and eating a pastime. Addiction can definitely be an issue, but it is not the only issue. 1:06

I been in a really bad shape these last months and can eat carbs all of a sudden as if I was a nutcase to handle extreme chronic pain in the hips and IT band and feet and knees, with chronic inflammation and access liquid for over a year after a failed IT band surgery where they put in a synthetic net to try to make a synthetic IT band on the outside of the hips but the body did not like this, and I feel like vomit all of the time, and never ever sleep and feel like sick and my heart over work and feel pain, fatigue and in this process, especially late when one try to fall asleep I began eating carbs, the sweeter the more and intense I eat.... I never ever behaved this way in my life..I never had this kind of pain and also lost ability to walk after there is a big open rupture with a massive amount or serom, access liquid in the outside of the hip of the facia and IT band that burn like hell and a lot of scare tissue that make it mechanically impossible to stand or walk on the leg. and so I began suddenly eating, buns , milk, cookies, all in the night to fall asleep or to cope with it.. and I seem to be like a different person when I suddenly get a stupid idea to go online uber and order cookies and milk in the evening as if I was a kid with no knowledge while I know very well this will not end up well. I cannot go out much at all for a whole year and am isolated at the top floor of my building as there is no elevator in this old century house.... I do not know how to handle the pain, and the manic eating that comes all of sudden as if had got a sub personality , a kid that just want buns, ccokies and milk and sometimes ice cream fudge.... what is going on in my mind , psych to cope in this process? and what can I do to re-set my brain to stop this and start a keto lifestyle and better eating window control again? this gone way too far and I been so isolated I have not seen much people than physiological test people for sleep apnea, my heart, my blood pressure that put machines on me as I choke up in my sleep from pot covid 19 over production of mucus and get a super dry throat and then over production of mucus and it add up like a spider webb with an obstructive stance sleep apnea and I got no day time rhythm anymore after this failed operation .... where to statt to re-set myself and take control again?? I feel lost as I am on my own in this. So any advice I will take seriously becasue I can see I am going straight down towards an early death if I continue another year like this. I never been fat! Although my mother was from Sendai, Japan, I can't stand green tea,. I love black tea but it's full of oxalates. Roiboos is the answer for the millions of folks who are oxalate magnets. If you have a tendency to manufacture kidney stones, roiboos is a great stand in for tea. Just avoid artificial sweeteners. If I must, I'll use pure stevia. I'm not a sweets lover. I'm usually a volume eater. So, there are times when I have bone broth since I prefer savory to sweet. As for Crystal Light, it has 5 carbs per packet. If I use Crystal Light, it throws me out of ketosis, so beware. Keep in mind I'm post menopausal. I used to do keto and cheat all over the place and looked like a sports model in my 40s. Once I hit 55 and then contracted long Covid, which made me inactive and essentially disabled for several months, it was like my body finally said, "Wait a minute! You're way past child bearing!🤨" Now, if I even look at cheese or artificial sweeteners, my butt grows. Also, in the past, if I gained a few pounds, none of it went to my abs. Now, it's a constant battle to try to see a 6-pack in lieu of a 4-pack with a fanny pack. I have only been on the carnivore journey for about a month + 1 week, but things are chemically changing in my body. The floatation device has gone down a little bit, but my strength has increased even more, my energy level is through the roof, my mind is in high gear, there's this pleasant sweet taste in my mouth all day long, my chronic IBS trots are gone, in fact, I rarely poop, and being OCD, I'm happy to say it's tiny and as clean as one could hope it to be, but ..... the one thing that frightens me is that I have no appetite! I did a workout this morning around 9 AM, a little later than usual, and was drinking coffee with a bit of pure stevia and a tiny bit of 40% heavy cream, as I went along lifting heavy weights, then doing repetitive speed steps for 1 minute followed by deep stretches between sets because I'm missing a disc between my L4 and L5 vertebrae and my vertebrae are still in the process of fusing. Anyway, I fully expected, I'd be hungry by at least 2 PM by keto or carnivore standards. But here I am, texting this when it's almost 7 PM, and I even did 30 minutes on a stationary bike hoping it would make my appetite kick in, but all it did was make that sweet taste in my mouth get more intense. Most folks would probably think that's great, but as a heavy weightlifter, I'm concerned that I can't rebuild muscle with just my fat stores. I hope Dr. Cywes can tell me if it isn't good to not eat when not hungry if you work out with heavy weights. I guess I'll find out.

I switched to keto diet around three months ago and almost everything about my health changed to better, yet I still have some problems that I'm trying to find out. Talking about energy levels and coffee it seems that on keto diet I don't need coffee anymore at all, but I still like it. After drinking a cup I usually will feel exhausted after an hour or two. And this exhaustion is something different that I used to have couple of years before. Can there be possible problem with my adrenals? I read about adrenal fatigue and that it takes sometimes years to recover.
Is a zero sugar crush packet with 5 calories an acceptable bridge? I believe it is 1 carb. You call it a bridge, I call it a crutch. I gotta have that sweet fix. I know I am a sugar addict,down 38 pounds and doing Keto. I still crave and dream about sweets. Will that ever go away? I am doing this to reverse diabetes.
Sorry, "I guess" I'm immune to coffee, can drink before bed, not often, sometimes I wake up, have some coffee and go back to bed, no problem. Is there something wrong with me??? Mind you, I was born in South América in a coffee culture.
I keep a little bottle of drink enhancer and Redmond salt in my purse and add it to the free water at restaurants. I can't take caffeine in the evening and usually restaurants don't have anything to choose from. Thanks for this video. It came just in time as I have been struggling with snacking lately and this helps me to understand what's going on in my brain.

My favorite drink enhancer is the Orange Vanilla flavor made by MIO and can be found in most regular markets. Usually by the Crystal Light. I also love the TruLemon Black Cherry or Watermelon flavor packets. Definitely helps me build a bridge. :-)
I don't agree that "A snack is always always always an emotional event". For me it was habit and boredom. When I changed to low carb, I changed the habit of snacking, nothing to do with changing my emotions.
@@kihntagious boredom is having nothing to do. Since changing the snack habit and losing weight I'm now more physically active doing productive things. No more boredom. It wasn't an emotion, it was lethargy caused by being overweight and eating too many carbs.
@@_Solaris not necessarily. My prompts to snack had a physical cause - wildly fluctuating blood sugars and inactivity. I am now more physically active. There has been no emotional change.
Dogs will benefit from bridging too, as they can also get T2D if fed frequently. I mostly feed them once per day, and in between give them some delicious broth to maintain hydration and salts The carbs and seed oils in pet food.......ahhhhh!

Unlikely ur adrenals. It takes about 2 years to fully fat adapt
Definitely avoid caffeine if u have weak adrenals. Book called "Adrenal Fatigue" by Dr Wilson spells everything out

@@_Solaris not necessarily. My prompts to snack had a physical cause - wildly fluctuating blood sugars and inactivity. I am now more physically active. There has been no emotional change.

I mostly feed them once per day, and in between give them some delicious broth to maintain hydration and salts
