You demonstration of how to fold a map took me back to my soldiering days. If you go to a military supplier like CP Gear in Canada you can get clear covers for your folded map. You can write on the plastic with a wax crayon pencil or a non permanent marker. This can e wiped clean without spoiling your map
If you don’t mind, I have a few questions....Where did you purchase the metal box that you added to the back of your Ascent? Did you ever purchase the add-on for bringing an extra tire? If so, where can I find one? What is the name of the hose you showed in this video? Sorry for all the questions. We are newbies anxiously awaiting our new Ascent and getting as prepared as possible in the meantime. 😊

I think we are going to get a mount for our swing away hitch instead of going the Aluminess route. But we have gotten on the waiting list for the Agile Offroad suspension package. I suggest that you don't go overboard on getting things ahead of time. Get the basics for sure but half the fun is figuring out how you use the vehicle and what works best for your travel style. For example, we are just now investigating BBQs. Not even sure if we want one yet because of our fast pace travel. But we'll see.
Another great video. I noticed you didn't elaborate on your hubby's clothes-ha, ha. Mine has one season, all the same ! We have a 30 ft. TT which we feel is getting too old and so are we to take across country. So we will downsize from that to our "new' old camper van. I can't wait.
I'm new in a 20' my cabinets arn't like yours there mainly drawers not much stow room. don't the paper towels stowed high in bathroom get wet, I'm assuming there's a shower in the bathroom? thanks for sharing packing tips.

Thanks, I needed some inspiration for a video. I'll start working on it as soon as I finish editing next Thursday's video. As to the water, there are several reasons. It starts to acquire a plastic taste and it is hard to completely drain the tank or at least know that it is completely drained before re-filling. So in a pinch I would probably use my backpacking water filter if I were to drink it. The 2 gallon jug we carry lasts a couple of days and we fill it directly from the spigots at campgrounds unless it seems a bit sketchy. At the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta we had to walk about a mile to a Pizza place and ask if we could fill up our jug. I thought it very strange that there was no place to get water where all the RV's were parked. If we are boondocking for more than a few days, we'll take an extra container or buy bottled water.
Hi Jordan, I always drink from the fresh water tank in our Ascent. To me, it's just a big water bottle like you get in the store. I do, however, take the precaution of double rinsing the tank (and lines) with a bleach solution at least twice a season and also using a filter when filling the tank. To be sure it drains completely, I put some levelers on the far side of the RV so that the drain is at the lowest point of the tank. I've never had the plastic taste that Debbie has.... lucky me, I guess :)
We have Pleasure Way van. We cook with water from on board tank, but even at home we don't drink straight tap water. We have in line filter on water hose to fill tank.
Great vid! I just got around to watching this one. Good ideas. One question, though. In looking at your well-organized storage in your wet bath, it looks like you don't use it to shower. Surely you don't take all that stuff out every time you shower, and then put it back afterwards! Or do you?
You should start a business making cool camping accessories (like your rolled toolkit holder)! Q - what walking sticks do you use/recommend? I broke my ankle 2 years ago and it will never be right. Could use some stability for hiking. Thanks
I have had many pair of walking sticks over the years. They have all seemed to "fail" at the adjustment point because they were the screw to tighten kind. We now have Black Diamond poles that utilize what they call a "FlickLock". They make lots of models. Mine are the Trail Pro Trekking Poles. They don't tend to go on sale unless a store is going out of business which is how I got mine. We also added the rubber tips to them for trail hiking although one viewer said her rubber tips didn't last on concrete. My husband was so resistant to poles for years but now, with aging joints, understands how helpful they can be. Hope you find something that helps you get back on the trail. I should just do a video on how to make the tool holder because it couldn't be easier. Thanks for watching!

Because you basically have to sit down to shower, nothing up high gets wet.
