@@dapperfan44 Well, even though Generations had a cool speed effect and relatively decent game play, I still find the overall game design of 3D sonic to still be in the adventure era 20 years ago. The character needs to evolve now imo. That, and ever since the end of the 90s and beginning of 3D era sonic, the games have seemingly all but abandoned the darker grittier cyberpunk elements that so wonderfully juxtoposed the brighter vibrant fantasy elements, making both one another stronger for the others presence. Nowadays its just bright happy kid friendly markettable safe sonic, and it just feels kinda stale and lacking teeth. I think they should re-invent the wheel game play design wise, but also go back to what made the character work so strongly in the first place, light and dark contrasting one another in a way only Sonic could pull off. See SATAM for examples.
@Yess7895 if you look closely at Sonic when he jumps off the plane, you can see him flash a pinkish color which only Hyper Sonic does. Play the clip at 0.25 speed and you'll see it.

SpoonGoonKay I think it because the game isn't connected with sonic 3. I didn't know I can play it on the wii with both games combined by pressing the - button on the wii mote until 2 months ago after giving my wii to my little cousin
SpoonGoonKay It's foreshadowing Knuckles' story in Sonic & Knuckles, where he becomes the villain (except in Flying Battery Act 2, as they used Robotnik's sprite instead).

Beat this game hundreds of times. The ending brings back a lot of memories from my childhood.
I had a great teacher my grandma used to run circles around me in the 3D special stage when I was a kid.
Most of the time I beat the game with all 14 emeralds with Hyper Sonic Knuckles and Super Tails
