- I'm just now getting to the videos I made a couple of weeks ago, but this is the first on a really nice tahoe we got in. a little over 120k miles and this thing looks like new, definitely would make an awesome truck for someone
chevy really rolled out a fine product with these versions of the tahoe. From like 96' to about '04 these were by far the best full size suv's.

I just picked up a 99 Tahoe LT a couple weeks ago has 186,000 miles. I love it!!
I have a 99 LS with 105,000 and it is bulletproof.

My personal favorite Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban style too. That generation were the best ones, back when GM still made quality trucks. Saw a red '99 Tahoe for sale in my neighborhood recently, if I wasn't broke it would probably be mine!
I have a 99. I can tell you, they are great trucks!
I have a 99 Tahoe LS 2wd, rear barn doors, all stock, grey, with only 105,000 miles, which is great for a 99. Its in amazing condition as well. I really love that 350 V8. Only gripe is that it is one of the rarer options with rear wheel drive. I plan to keep it FOREVER!

The HP to weight ratio concerns me.
@@plog1805 it gets up to speed pretty well. Not a race car or anything but it isn’t slow. The only downside is that the 4L60E on mine is jerky, but others aren’t that bad.

@allampedup88 They ride smooth, the 350 vortec has good power/torque, 4wd works good, if they have a G80 locking rear differential they will go anywhere offroad. They're nice vehicles, good for towing and hauling. Gas mileage is normal gas mileage of a V8, Expect 14 in town and maybe 17 on the highway depending on what axle gears you have.

I just bought a 1999 Tahoe 4 door it's WHITE ! My favorite color for this type of SUV. I searched and searched for it finally have her and the paint is nice and it has leather in great condition. I have the tailgate I hate the barn door style bullshit ! These are getting very hard to find especially the ones with the hatch back and tailgate . I'm keeping mine forever no matter how much someone offers me it's also rust free from the West coast! If I had more. Money I'd be all over that one!
I love it but the two door tahoes look alot sportier and seem to fit the body style better.

It really just depends on what you need, but I personally wish they made the 2 door for a longer time though.

i love my 99 tahoe. GMT400 and a Fisher Plow. Dirty and gettin rusty but she starts up like new every time, no matter how cold
I gotta say that the interiors in this era of Tahoe/Suburban/Silverado are much better than the 2000-2006 generation. The design is just too boxy in that generation. This interior is much more appealing.

My dad has A 2000 Tahoe Z71. Super cool. It Has 132,000 Miles and Still Running Well. I Would Recommend One. The Only Time Its Been In The Shop Is For Oil Changes Tires Shocks And Brakes. Really Nice Truck.

I'm getting one of this in a couple of days. The guy wants to trade his 98' Tahoe (NEW MOTOR, TRANS, TIRES) for my 2000 S-10 because he needs a truck with bed to do lawn work..What a friggin' Deal...oh yea..its all leather of course..towing package..the works..I'm happy!

Actually, it's a little different. The 1st gen Tahoe ran from 95'-99', and the 2nd gen began in 2000.
This is probably one of the first 98's that I have seen with the HomeLink garage door opener system.
You can't go wrong with these 1998 Tahoes I have a 1999 Tahoe same body and trim line like this one I also have a 1997 gmc Sierra 4x4 extended cab . I think these are the best they are beautiful ! The new ones are just pathetic gm could of done alot better but it's why gm is sinking!

@DeMitch Yes I still have my Tahoe and it runs pretty well. No problems to this date fortunately. It's quite a good car. Mine is a 1998. If you go with the 1st gen (1995-1999) so go with the 1998-1999. I made some videos of it on my channel just watch it if you're interessted.

i found that i have a fuel leak on the fuel line . i just brought it two weeks ago ,so i cant really speak on gas mileage yet .

Brett Kendall Yes Very reliable. Easy to maintain and simple engines which are really easy to work on.
ABSOLUTELY!!! I have a 1999 Tahoe, has 105,000 miles right now, only major issue was a tranny rebuild at 100,000. But only other issues since then have been very minor things that happen to all cars its age. It still runs like new! It also looks new, not one dent or spot of rust on it. These things are also easy to work on, if they ever break down that is. Makes maintinance simple though.
