To me, the best part was when the guy at the bar said Whitebeard doesn't count as a swordsman because he uses a naginata. It was literally like talking to my friends on a Sunday.

If she were to direct anything in Egghead, I need it to be the Kuma flashback. This is what I'm waiting for the most, and if this episode is anything to go off by, then if she does that as well it could elevate this already great and heart wrenching backstory to another level
that's why they are changing the time slot for One piece, in order to make the enxt fights, and Kuma's flashback as hard as it was on manga, nothing watered down, no more things like Akainu punch to WB (on manga it took half WB face, on anime only his moustache)
Fr don’t even really like or watch one piece to be honest, but is the second time I go out of my way to go and see an episode I just think this is really great!
It is kinda crazy how the One Piece Anime staff still managed to drop fantastic episodes this year while having the "Fan-Letter" (+ ending) & the "Fishman Island remaster" (+ending/opening) taking resources away at the side while creating these fantastic episodes this year
this made me realize than a series of after the One Piece ends and they just go have adventures, but told from the perspective of the civilians would also be peak, how they lifes were changed like them
When the anime comes back its gonna start off with one of the biggest fights in Egghead having Luffy vs Kizaru to start off the comeback of the anime is gonna be so amazing
If even 50% of this amount of passion and love for One Piece is on display for a certain upcoming set of chapters next year in Egghead, I will cry a river.

@@anonisnoone6125the difference is the disparity between the mangas quality and the anime, the one piece manga is easily the greatest manga of all time and the anime should reflect that but it doesn’t, I personally love the anime but there’s clear pacing issues and sound design issues hence why they’re remaking fishmen island, other anime are usually on par with their manga and even better
one piece is having a generational run this year, it genuinely cannot miss. The love that goes into this story and i have for it is phenomenal and overwhelming, i always wonder if oda ever expected how grand his story would go and how far it would reach. It’s simply amazing

The symbolism in this episode reminds me of the use of symbolism in my favorite anime of all time, 3-Gatsu no Lion. The way the puzzle start building pieces by pieces in the episode reminds me of shogi pieces symbolism. And when the girl's hope is lost the pieces start dissapearing was heart breaking.. It was beautiful. Made me tear up.
Remember. This was technically filler. One piece is so dense with its world building that you can honestly make some good stuff if you put the effort in. The team did for this

I love that this *One Piece Fan Letter Special* is a kind of love letter to Oda, the fans, the Straw Hats and OP characters from Toei and the animators. A beautiful, heartfelt and short story that humanizes the "background characters" that makes the world more real and massive.
Fan Letter was amazing.. the way previous episodes were playing in the background of the Fan Letter story was so special.. saying "the blood" is what made the show is very short sighted.. it was the direction and the story that made the show so good..

You are absolutely right! I would love to see more OP POVs from people on the ground. Dressrosa was a perfect example by you. Show us the life of a person, who got turned into a toy, spent 10 years like that, and then suddenly one day got turned back and then the Birdcage happened and so on. I would even appreciate a peek into the daily life of an ordinary citizen of Skypiea, FI, or WCI, or Wano, because we did not get to see that! All the time on Skypiea was spent in the Upper Yard, we never met any of the ordinary citizens, except for the father-daughter duo. We did not get even that much in WCI. In Wano, we just got that single village/town. I would also love if they showed us why the people consider the pirates as evil, and the government as good. Show us that even the best of the pirates, even our beloved Straw Hats, do destroy lives of many a people as a result of their efforts! Yes, they save nations and do much more good than bad, but Dressrosa and Skypiea were absolutely destroyed by the time they left. Show us that most of the Marines are good and want to and do serve the people. P. S. I also think this might be the perfect time for Toei to adapt all the bonus content that Oda releases but the anime never adapted. Show us Eneru reaching the Moon or Bon Clay having a great time in Impel Down, and whatever else that Oda has cooked!

It makes the anime more relatable when you add the human aspect of day to day survival against people or governments that’s seem to have unfathomable power and are pushing to make it day to day
I tell you you could really feel the intentisty of being a regular marine in the war, especially seeing Mihawk and croc, you could feel how insignificant a marine was and how monstrous the main cast are, the directing of the episode I think was the most special part

I've been craving something like this for years. I was hoping the movies would move away from the standard Strawhat formula and start doing movies focused on prominent marines or Pirates. I'd love a movie about Garp's early days or a movie focused on the Supernovas and their rise to fame. So while this wasn't exactly what I wanted it was a step in the right direction.

we get this episode, and the chapter 1130 reveal of loki. how does one piece constantly get better every day and week and year, year after year, for almost 30 years? its crazy, 1130 has my 2 favorite panels in one chapter, in the entire manga.
As much as the animators deserve the praise for this episode but lets not forget the incredible world building oda sensei has done for the past two and a hald decades is the reason why such stories feel so emotional and good! Like a story I wanted to was *whatever happened to the guy that asked Roger where the one piece is before his death?, did that guy become a legend, fugitive, pirate or just back to normal life because technically without him... MightNo pirate era, so a story and perspective in that pov would be great or previous users of DF that we know of anything of that sort works very well
I loved this so much! I think my favorite was the older Marine brother. I loved that his love of Luffy was so personal. I loved the girl too. I loved that we never got a clear shot of the Straw Hats, except for that one fan of Brook’s but she’s a fan of Brook the singer, not Brook the pirate and she wouldn’t connect to who Chopper is.
People would axtually die from overwork trying to keep this quality up weekly. Chibi it would have to schedule to a seasonal schedule for this to work, with massive time gaps in between

Stories and perspectives like this make a showed goated. Like a story I wanted to was *whatever happened to the guy that asked Roger where the one piece is before his death?, did that guy become a legend, fugitive, pirate or just back to normal life because technically without him... MightNo pirate era, so a story and perspective in that pov would be great or previous users of DF that we know of anything of that sort works very well
I loved this so much! I think my favorite was the older Marine brother. I loved that his love of Luffy was so personal. I loved the girl too. I loved that we never got a clear shot of the Straw Hats, except for that one fan of Brook’s but she’s a fan of Brook the singer, not Brook the pirate and she wouldn’t connect to who Chopper is.
People would axtually die from overwork trying to keep this quality up weekly. Chibi it would have to schedule to a seasonal schedule for this to work, with massive time gaps in between
The bar scene is literally just like the one-piece community when it comes to power scaling 😂 I respect what they did what this episode and I hope they do more like this
