Great tutorial. I make wallets and stuff for my wife, daughter, and myself. This looks so much easier than what I did before (own design). I was dreading making another one for my wife, but not any more. I'm glad to have found your channel!
Hey Jess. I just need to say that you are my absolute FAVORITE PERSON to learn from. You break everything down and are very detailed minded in your explanations and instruction. Thank you. I’ve learned so much from your tutorials and have made many of the bags you’ve done. I was wondering if you would do the “Fun Bobby Backpack” in the future. I know Lauren and Siah have done tutorials as well as Jen. But they don’t explain like you do. I’m scared to try it because there are several things I just don’t get and it would be a big waste of materials to make a sub-par bag. I’d love to make this backpack but won’t have the courage do it until you put out a tutorial. So I hope you’ll consider making one. And thank you for sharing your talents with all of us. You’re amazing☺️❤️👍🏼
Hello! I hope you are having a lovey day! I was working and filming in my sewing room all day and now I get to sit and watch you while I repair my blue jeans. I hope you have a great and creative week ahead. Thanks for sharing this video and your talent.
Hey Jess. Great tutorial as always. PLEASE add the acrylic templates for the id pocket to the shop! Can you share where you got the split ring/hook clips?
Hey Jess... As far as edge coating goes, I don't like using the paint so I use htv. I have a little clover hand held iron and just use that to edge coat. Super quick! A little fiddly but I love the finish!
@@pepsiklaire it’s so easy - you can buy the SVG and it cuts all the pieces - for pocket pal and purse pal. I put vinyl with finished side down and then mirror it so it’s cut the right way.
Love this! When I use WPC as the lining for the pocket and purse pals, since it doesn’t fray I just cut the same rectangle out of it as the exterior pattern piece and leave the raw edge or edge paint it!
So when doing the card slots, if you make the crease off the last tape used towards the next tape before pulling the backing off the next, it helps keep it straight. I do this with leather wallets, tyvek, and double sided tape.
Love the hack for the id card slot! And I will for sure be adding that extra stitching above the top card slot. I have one I made last year where the ribbon in the top card slot came undone. I'll probably just glue it, but stitching is a good tip. Great video as always!
Hey, A suggestion, I've been adding a tab for the ring, next to the flap, to the right side of it, so that you do not have the bulk of a ring on that flap. Works out really well.
Did you seriously just read my mind?!? I was researching something like this all weekend and then "poof", here is your tutorial. Love the acrylics too. Thank you Jess! 😊
Another way to do the lining if you don't have heat transfer vinyl is to add heat and bonds to make anything similar to heat transferable. Great tutorial as always
I have both the purse and pocket pal. I modified the pocket pal to mimick the purse pal design, only smaller, so there is a pocket for cash. In addition, I used your hacks for using quilt cotton and htv for inner lining on zipper pocket for added fun. Great idea for the outer clear ID pocket!
Greetings from Tampa! I’m glad you shared this! I did an id pocket for one as an experiment and it’s not pretty and doesn’t fit an ID properly. I greatly appreciate you figuring the math and proportions out for us! I also added a teeny bit of Velcro at the tip opening for extra security. Thank you for being awesome as always.
Love it! If you can make acrylic templates with Bruno, I would love an OklaRoots brand sewing gauge tool. Those ones with all different measurements on a squarish thing - so handy.
Love the tutorial as per usual. I’m still waiting for you to do a Lindsport tutorial. Maybe with a different spin on it, like adding a crossbody strap or doing an ita bag like Carolina Little Stitches does?
That would be a nice pocket size wallet. I stopped carrying a purse when I had back surgery and will usually carry a small “big skinny” wallet in my coat or my work backpack or a little journal bag. Very cute design. Do you have any patterns that would incorporate a wallet with a cell phone carrier? Maybe a case wallet… trying to find something for my daughter to carry around with her phone. She always leaves her wallet at home lol.
That crescent moon zipper pull is adorable! You often have/use pulls that are unique that I have never seen anywhere. And I do “Google” them. No luck. So where do you get yours? I especially want #3 pulls.
I love your tutorials! I watch your tutorials every day. Some people watch HGTV. I watch Jess Oklaroots tutorials! Any chance you could do a tutorial for the Carrie Tote by Kandou Crafts? Please? Pretty please?
Someone may have asked, but where did you get the "Mickey Mouse" head pattern for your tab: I've watched your tutorials for quite some time and appreciate how you share all the details in a clear and concise manner.... and lovely voice. Thanks for your time and sharing.
I don’t currently have any for sale, but the embroidery design can be found here www.creationsbyconnieembroidery.com/Mr-Mouse-Applique-Wallet-Tab-Embroidery-Design-_p_2441.html
You are the sweetest!! Thank you so much for all your praises 😭
You’re the best Linds 🥰

Hey Jess. Great tutorial as always. PLEASE add the acrylic templates for the id pocket to the shop! Can you share where you got the split ring/hook clips?
I actually purchase those on Etsy or Amazon. I really like these gold ones, because they have a bar to split them before you use them amzn.to/3uVuY29

Great tutorial! Are you selling the templates for the clear ID pocket? I could not find them on your website. Thank you
Love the tutorial as per usual. I’m still waiting for you to do a Lindsport tutorial. Maybe with a different spin on it, like adding a crossbody strap or doing an ita bag like Carolina Little Stitches does?
Oooo that sounds fun! I’m not sure what ita bag is, though.
Is waterproof canvas the same as canvas they use for outdoor furniture? Thanks for your help with this.

That crescent moon zipper pull is adorable! You often have/use pulls that are unique that I have never seen anywhere. And I do “Google” them. No luck. So where do you get yours? I especially want #3 pulls.
Great video! One question, can the lining be a different type of material? Preferably something a bit cheaper since I’m just learning to sew 😂
Hi Jess,
Where did you get the Mickey vinyl?
Another great tutorial, thank you. x
Can you use the ID cover for the bigger pocket pal?
Odd question but where did you get your sewing foot? I hate the thin zipper foot I have.
I love your tutorials! I watch your tutorials every day. Some people watch HGTV. I watch Jess Oklaroots tutorials! Any chance you could do a tutorial for the Carrie Tote by Kandou Crafts? Please? Pretty please?

Have you made an a6 budget binder yet?
Hi Jess, I used your code and I got a purse pal, and it was redeemable with the purse pal. Was that supposed to happen?
Where did you get the zipper pull?
Someone may have asked, but where did you get the "Mickey Mouse" head pattern for your tab: I've watched your tutorials for quite some time and appreciate how you share all the details in a clear and concise manner.... and lovely voice. Thanks for your time and sharing.
Go to her link for Connies Creations below her video. I just purchased some from there, but have yet to use them.
Link please for the thin waterproof canvas
I would like to get pocket wallet pattern
Paper template we can print for the I'd pocket please 😃🙏🏻
Can I use ripstop nylon instead of thin waterproof canvas?
Yes for sure! That’s a great option! I’ve used it on the Purse Pal
Also I notice a clear bag in the bottom left corner with a ring in the corner of it, what pattern is that? 🥰🤔
Oooooo you caught a sneaky peaky of a project in the works 😉
Hi Jess please add the templates so l can’t start making these xx
Could you do one without such busy fabric/ vinyl? It was hard to see what you were doing with the cuts..
The Mickey Mouse snap tab is not on your website, plus I can’t find it on Connie’s site?
I don’t currently have any for sale, but the embroidery design can be found here www.creationsbyconnieembroidery.com/Mr-Mouse-Applique-Wallet-Tab-Embroidery-Design-_p_2441.html
I don’t have the machine that can make this design..sad.
