I saw the photo of Stormy on the new website, from when she first arrived. I'd forgotten how fragile and frail she was. Skin and bones, and her flipper feet were truly heartbreaking. They were pale pink, no flesh and covered in bumps and bruises. She must have been found just in time, before it was too late. Holley and family worked a miracle to bring her back to health. God bless you wonderful people. ❤
Same. The fact that she survived at all's miraculous. Stormy's actually thriving is one of the best parts of my year. 😂 Something Wild's legacy is off and running. Blessings, all.
Is Tulip doing any scenting? Both these beavers have risen above adversity and are doing remarkably well thanks to Holley, her family and all her supporters, thank you for making the difference. 🥰🤗
Sweet Beautiful Round Tulip, she loves munching on her sweet potato 🥔 in her sweet potato box. Love her, she loves Holley and Holley loves her, Gorgeous Stormy Rose, i love her, i know she loves Holley, she is such a hard working Beaver!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love when Tulip🌷🦫🍠😋💕 goes inside the Yams box to eat her sweet potato, reminds me of my Cat who loves cardboard boxes. I never get tired of watching Stormy Rose🌹🦫🤗💕💕🌌 on the night cam. Glad Frodo & Sam stopped in for a snack, I wish them well!🦝🦝🤗💕💕
You don't ramble Holley. I like it very much when you tell and explain about them and beavers in general. I didn't know anything about beavers before I started following your channel. Thank you.
Holley: "Beavers need a job to do, they need to be kept busy. Working is a great form of enrichment for them." Tulip: [Paddles languidly around in Stormy's pool, clings to Momma's hand while making baby noises to get cuddles, and lounges in her cabana box eating snacks.] I don't think Princess Tulip got the "Beavers Gotta Work" memo.... 💕🌷🦫 💕🌪️🌹🦫 💕🐬 💕💙 💕🏡
Tulip is so smart....the box says, "Yams," so that's where she goes to eat them. 😄 I checked out the website last night, Holley. It's great! Love seeing Stormy at work. ❤
So fascinating to try to understand animal behavior. You are doing such a good job with Tulip and Stormy Rose. I think Stormy is a little wary of Tulip, but it is understandable since Stormy was wild, and Tulip has been with you as an infant. Tulip thinks everyone is a fair game and doesn't seem to have boundaries. She only has instinct, but Stormy has lived in a beaver family. I hope they do bond.😊
The way that Tulip responds to your affection Holley is very sweet. Also how she always dives to the bottom of her food bowl, to extract the sweet potato, however well it's hidden. What a sweet creature she is! ❤demlil'🐹's
Awww... Am all melted down after watching the moments between Tulip and Holley. Holley's hand is gently scratching Tulip's head, while Tulip's little hands are tenderly holding on to Holley's hand... It's swoon inducing... Sigh...
@hmuraco Thank you for providing more information on scent marking. I would love to read your publications on beavers and their behavior, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could share links to any new publications. Thanks for showing your wildlife camera; it has excellent video quality. I'm considering purchasing one to capture more squirrel activity outside my roof window in the early mornings.
I love how Tulip holds Holly's hand and begs for stitches. 💙🥰 Could she have a late night play time with Stormy? She always seems like she wants to be friends. Glad to hear the racoons are successful in their wild foraging!
You’re doing a fantastic job, Dr. Muraco. Are you publishing? There’s an animal rescue called Urban Rescue Ranch in Waco TX. (He has kangaroos, capybaras, raptors, reptiles, bobcats, raccoons, etc). He has a baby beaver, which I keep encouraging (ok, nagging!) him to contact you-from what I’ve learned here. Beavers can’t be hard released without a family, right?? I know previously you said people contact you. But… baby beaver, thriving & healthy, but alone 😢
I hope you and tulip stay together forever. I have never seen a bond with an animal and a human like this before. Even my own dog does not love me as much as tulip does to you.
Funny how Tulip always seems to come and check on Stormy...or maybe it's Stormy's sticks she's after? Does she eat the whole bowlful of produce that you give her every day (sweet taters and nanners first of course), and does Stormy get a similar bowlful? And is it just me, or are Stormy's branches getting larger every night? They are a delight to watch--thank you for sharing them with us!
It really is so heart-warming to see Stormy Rose up and active and creating what seems to be a giant ikebana arrangement in her pool. Can't wait to see her and Tulip being let loose in the big, new phase 2 pond when it's ready.
Love the nite cams. I'm purchase one light yours but hubs say our Wifi won't go that far. I'll make it! We have skunk, porkies, fox, etc. and I love seeing them.
A spokesbeaver, not authorized to make formal statements on Tulip's behalf, said off the record that they don't see the big deal about Dark Money and alleged illegal "Pay to Play" campaign donation scandal, as "Everybody does it." (Which is true, if you think about it.) 😁
Tulip used to - and for all I know, may still do so. Holley refers to this in a Q & A for the 30,000 viewers episode. Just like Stormy, Tuli[p releases her scent at the top of the stairs/slide leading into the water. And just as wild beavers tend to leave scent mounds by the foreshore, so these two deposit next to their water source.
Geese sometimes fly at night, especially as the temperature cools down. I live near a lake where geese live much of the year. When it's time for them to migrate, we almost never see them (or hear them) in the middle of the day. Predators aren't as likely to hunt their flights at night, and it's easier for them to maintain a cooler body temperature.
(Dr. Muraco:) "There are no kits" -- as far as she knows(!). I'm not suggesting Tulip is promiscuous, but you never know. What happens in Mississippi stays in Mississippi... 🥰
Tulip 🌷! Sweetheart, you really can’t just walk into another beaver’s crate-lodge like that 😅 Shall I expect to see Stormy 🌹 to complete block off the entrance to her crate-lodge with branches & sticks now?! The only way we’ll get to see her during the day is if Doc lifts the top half of the crate up 😂 With that said, Tulip 🌷 is basically me…everything is _mine first,_ & you’re just traipsing in all over it 😝 PS- it’s not easy to transition between watching Law & Order & watching cute little [chonky] Tulip 🌷😅
During my bike ride this morning I saw a wealthy Republican baby gator in the retention pond by the Publix parking lot (because you need to be a wealthy Republican to afford Publix prices...) 🥰
I love how Tulip holds Holly's hand and begs for stitches. 💙🥰 Could she have a late night play time with Stormy? She always seems like she wants to be friends. Glad to hear the racoons are successful in their wild foraging!
Yes. Due to Mississippi laws that categorize beavers as nuisance animals and allow them to be killed at will, it is unsafe to release any beavers outside of the property. This is one of the reasons Holley and family wanted the acreage- to create a sanctuary.
So cool and neat Sam and Frodo stopped for a snack so u know they are ok

When tulip holds on to you I just melt. My heart is just a puddle. You did this dr Holly! You made me love 🦫
You can tell Tulip and Stormy love you Holley. How precious they are. ❤
Tulip and Stormy sadly lost their families, but instead they found paradise

Such a difference in Stormy!

Absolutely. Plus, the knowledge 🤓
CUTEST BEAVER EVER HUH !!!!!!!!!
Wonderful enrichment activities- just brilliant
Tulip really does love her cuddles with Holly
Stormy looking SO healthy 🙏❤️🙏❤️
4:48: And this is how the Domesticus Beaverus had begun to evolve.
😂
I wonder if Stormy ever gets lonely being awake all by herself.
Nice that Tulip has a dining room now
Holley, one of these days you'll have to give in and get in the pool with Tulip. She's been begging you for a long time! ☀
Since that's their loo, pretty doubtful, but maybe she can get a wetsuit!
🌿💦💦🦫🤿💙
PS Your dawg is adorable
Love watching them!! The sweetest was Tulip giving her mama love!! ❤❤❤

Stormy ever lonely playing and awake at night
Only a beaver would taste another beaver's home.

He reads comments. I suggested bananas for the beaver (and a cat tower- & friend- for the baby bobcats). He’s doing a fantastic job, very intelligent.

Once released, will they remain on sanctuary property?
So where does a Tulip 🌷 beaver eat a sweet tator-In a sweet tator box of course

Tulip is so very attached not sure if she would be ok released
"Beavers need a job"-- Is Dr. Muraco going to pay the employer's portion of FICA!?!! 🤔 (And pay FUTA, Federal Unemployment Tax insurance?)
Tulip the round and sweet c h o n k y princess! Been here since her young T-shirt days, so sweet!
You NEVER discuss a female's weight!! Apologize to Poor Tulip!!! 😪
How are the baby raccoons doing?
They stopped by last night to grab some food. Timestamp ~7:00.
Use your trail cam to try and capture Sam and Frodo on film eating at night.

Might Princess Tulip be a male?? 😳😆
So why does Tulip not leave a scent mark?

@@Bloodnok49 Very interesting thanks.
As domesticated as Tulip had become do you think she will ever be able to be released into the wild?
There's a question of releasing her in any case because of her autoimmune disorder and resulting loss of protective fur on her back.
What are the birds doing out at night? Sounds like perhaps wild geese. Maybe they were disturbed. Normally I think they would be quiet.
