Flower, Mike (aka: Left Behind), the guy who lost 105 pounds, and I are planning two 5-day hikes on the Appalachian Tail for this year. When y'all met, we (Mike, me, and three more of our buddies) were hiking from Amicalola Falls to Neel's Gap. When you passed us, we'd set up a stealth camp on top of a mountain. I believe you camped about half a mile passed us. Anyway, this afternoon when looking at recent videos from the trail, I saw your video. Thanks for mentioning Mike's great accomplishment last year. Mike is a hell of man!
Yes, I remember walking past you all that evening! I was blessed to meet Mike and hear his story :) I'm so glad you guys are going out to do some more adventures this coming year...rock on!!
Early june ..." juncos" would fly up from side walls of trail..startling hikers. Look where they fly from and there might be eggs! Love the nature photos
Hey Flower, I'm the guy that hiked with you on the trail. (105 pound guy). How cool finding this several months later. Loved hearing your story. Happy trails! Hiking my next section in Virginia this May!
Hello again Mike!! Wow, that is awesome that you found my video :) Thank you again for sharing your story with me...you inspired me and changed my perspective that day....you're an amazing person! I'm so glad you are going out to do more sections! Yay!
Great to see you hiking again. Your videos have just the “right “ of everything. Love the humble and grateful attitude, too. Thanks for all the identifications. Happy Trails
What a contrast from starting down at Springer in the late winter or early spring. If I do the trail again, someday, I’ll definitely flip-flop and hike in the best weather.😊
Yes, I agree...I've actually never seen any other videos of the southern sections that show much besides brown sticks :) It really is gorgeous there in the fall!
Excellent presentation! You are showing very nice views of the trail with close-ups of the interesting wildlife at an attractive (green) time of year. Thank you!
While watching your present video for the “100 mile Wilderness”, I had to seek out how you started at Springer Mt. Since I am from Long Island, you explained a plan I thought about. As always thanks for your detail. Thanks for ‘Aiming High’🇺🇸
So happy to see you here again! I love your videos! It's so fun to learn the names of all the various flora and fauna along the way. It will be nice to see this stretch all green and then turning colors as the season progresses! Have fun...and yes, you are so fortunate to be able to do this!!!❤Thanks for taking us along! ☺Suzi
Recuperating from a trail accident for the next couple of months. Delighted to be joining you. You’re videos are making me rethink my AT dream. Maybe section hiking…
Can’t believe I binge-watched all eight. I would have bailed way back at the copperhead and if not, certainly at the point where the bears entered the scene. I would love to do that trail some day and when it is paved and 60 😊Hampton Inns are established along the trail, I’m there. Forgot to mention the long-range electric bike I’ll need.
You just made my Monday. Looking forward to this section. I’m sure you will meet up with some SOBOs. Still, blows my mind you are solo out in the forest solo. Happy trails. 🤟🏻🥾⛺️
@@loamseeker5230 I hike solo all the time it’s the stealth camping I’m unsure of. I’ve solo camped at a campsite but was not alone as filled with thru hikers at that time. I’m hoping to get comfortable over time but actual solo hiking is amazing. Happy trails. 🤘🏻🥾⛰️. I’m also in NY 🗽
Hi from Canada. Just watched your video, you might like to get your Camera checked out as it seems to be having issues with focusing. Hopefully nothing major. Happy Hiking...
I know it's tradition to do the approach trail, but since it's not really a part of the AT, and I had a limited time in my schedule to hike...it wasn't part of my plan.
Great camera work and narration. Too many hikers' videos have erratic camera movement and make the narration more about themselves than about the scenery.
Thank you! So glad you enjoy. I just try to show the interesting things I see on the trail with a little bit of narrative. I like to mostly show the trail so that if anyone is looking to do the section, they have an idea what the terrain is.
LoamSeeker the area at and near Blood Mountain was a massive massacre as this video will show miss as two Indian tribes were attacked as the Shawnee attacked the Creeks of the Creeks Northern portion. ruclips.net/video/b8Y7wQ0BUGc/видео.html

Thanks for taking the time label what you see.
You're quite welcome!
Great to see you back on trail! Beautiful weather for this first section. Thanks for sharing. Happy trails and god bless
Thanks 👍 Yes, the weather was a blessing
Nicely made video. Very pleasant to watch. Doing the southern end in the fall sounds like a good idea. Mild temps, nice foliage, and empty camp sites
Thank you! Yes, I was really happy to be on trail in the not-busy season!

Great AT video. I loved how you named all the other flowers {and insects} on the trail. Really enjoyed it. Thanks.
So glad you enjoyed!

You did a great job put it together, makes me want to get to Georgia

Thank you very much! So glad you enjoyed the video!
I like how you identify the plants and animals. I have not seen another hiking channel do this.
I'm glad you enjoy it. I like knowing the names of the cool stuff I see out there :)
I always look forward to your videos. Your attention to details is extraordinary and definitely sets you apart. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Glad you like them! And thank you for the compliment!

Thanks so much! And awesome job on your miles so far! :)
We've been worried about you, not having seen any new youtubes. Looking forward to watching these latest, thank you for such good work.
You are so welcome! And don't worry about me :)
Awesome. So great to see you back on trail. Enjoyed the video. Thank you.
You're most welcome!
Recuperating from a trail accident for the next couple of months. Delighted to be joining you. You’re videos are making me rethink my AT dream. Maybe section hiking…
Oh dear, I hope you recover quickly! Thanks for joining me :) Section hiking definitely has its perks
Thanks…nice video. So you’re finishing up a section hiking of the AT.🙂🙏
Thank you! Yes, I'm trying to get the whole thing done :)

Hahaha, you crack me up Alton! Thanks for watching my adventures :)
Its nice to see the foliage at the beginning of the trail.
It really does look different than all the other videos I've seen!

It’s the best way to hike!! 💚
I did meet up with a few SOBOs. I hope you get more comfortable with hiking solo as time goes on, because it really is amazing

Just found your channel. Very easy to watch and enjoyed the nature info.
Welcome aboard! Thanks so much :)
Welcome back to the great outdoors. That is a wonderful AT adventure, looking forward to part 2 ;)
Thanks so much!
Your videos are so good! Congrats on getting that shot of the Wren; they never sit still for me
Thank you so much! Yes, getting birds on film on an iPhone sure is a challenge!
Gonna subscribe and listen to your adventures while I drive around :)
Awesome! Nice to see you on here :)
Love the Appalachian Trail! Yi should try the GAP trail Pittsburgh to D.C.
Actually, my husband did the GAP and the C&O as bikepacking trips. The videos are here on this channel if you're interested :)

New subscriber, thanks for sharing your hike!
Welcome aboard!!
Great video! Hope to hike the AT in a few years myself. Crow
You should! And thanks!
I would poke with the walking stick first before sticking my head in that big tree :)
Haha not a bad idea :)
What happened to the approach trail???
I know it's tradition to do the approach trail, but since it's not really a part of the AT, and I had a limited time in my schedule to hike...it wasn't part of my plan.

Aren't you scared to sleep alone in a tent in the middle of nowhere?
There are quite a few women who hike this trail. It’s safer than most urban areas in our country…
Wearing make up in the woods.
Wow.. so judgy. Hike your own hike…
Wow such amazing views ! I cannot wait to get out there next spring, hope to see your beautiful face along the trail :)
Thank you! I hope you enjoy your hike!!
