- For section hike number 21 on the AT, and the last hike of this season, I head down to Georgia! I'm finally tackling the southernmost portion of the trail, starting at Springer Mountain, the southern terminus, and making my way through a portion of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In this first episode, covering days 1-2, I begin at Springer and hike to Slaughter Creek campsite.
LoamSeeker the area at and near Blood Mountain was a massive massacre as this video will show miss as two Indian tribes were attacked as the Shawnee attacked the Creeks of the Creeks Northern portion.
Fear is of Satan and we humans are not to living in fear. As we are in the wooded areas we are safer in the woods than being in city type settings. Only two things to be concerned about on a trail like the Appalachian Trail. 1st only a few hand full of humans aim to harm others. 2nd is the concern of being attacked by bears or panther type as most of time this won't happen as those beautiful animals normally attack out of fear or if they are preying for food as only at those times would a animal attack a human as most of the time they run for safety.
Aren't you scared to sleep alone in a tent in the middle of nowhere?
Wearing make up in the woods.
What happened to the approach trail???
wow......m
While watching your present video for the “100 mile Wilderness”, I had to seek out how you started at Springer Mt. Since I am from Long Island, you explained a plan I thought about. As always thanks for your detail. Thanks for ‘Aiming High’🇺🇸
I like how you identify the plants and animals. I have not seen another hiking channel do this.

Over 1600!!!!! That’s awesome. I am just a little over 120. I always enjoy your videos. Happy hiking!!!
Its nice to see the foliage at the beginning of the trail.
What a contrast from starting down at Springer in the late winter or early spring. If I do the trail again, someday, I’ll definitely flip-flop and hike in the best weather.😊
Flower, Mike (aka: Left Behind), the guy who lost 105 pounds, and I are planning two 5-day hikes on the Appalachian Tail for this year. When y'all met, we (Mike, me, and three more of our buddies) were hiking from Amicalola Falls to Neel's Gap. When you passed us, we'd set up a stealth camp on top of a mountain. I believe you camped about half a mile passed us. Anyway, this afternoon when looking at recent videos from the trail, I saw your video. Thanks for mentioning Mike's great accomplishment last year. Mike is a hell of man!
Hey Flower, I'm the guy that hiked with you on the trail. (105 pound guy). How cool finding this several months later. Loved hearing your story. Happy trails! Hiking my next section in Virginia this May!
Excellent presentation! You are showing very nice views of the trail with close-ups of the interesting wildlife at an attractive (green) time of year. Thank you!
Great camera work and narration. Too many hikers' videos have erratic camera movement and make the narration more about themselves than about the scenery.
I would poke with the walking stick first before sticking my head in that big tree :)
Wow such amazing views ! I cannot wait to get out there next spring, hope to see your beautiful face along the trail :)
Thanks…nice video. So you’re finishing up a section hiking of the AT.🙂🙏
Great video! Hope to hike the AT in a few years myself. Crow
