This is the first time this particular background set at PattyCake Productions was used. Eli did the lighting design.
I love the fact that he said these are the Ghost Riders before they died, and he let them do this song without his supervision. I absolutely love this cover. I had to look up the original by D'Angelo, but this is far superior IMO. Those low notes rumble in my chest. Also, Daryl is the one in the Duster, and they are in front of Daryl's Cafe...lol. I listened to this the first time and felt I was hearing a prayer. I still feel that, and the fact that you say it was an important moment in the game validates that for me. Geoff 's very existence is one of the joys of my life, as well as knowing he continues to 'top' himself with every song, though that almost seems impossible. the music in games is definitely vastly underestimated and underappreciated.... other games with great music are World of Warcraft, and Baldur's Gate 3 just to name a couple of them. WoW has multiple expansions spread across 20 years, but I'd say musically, my favorites would be Wrath of the Lich King, Battle for Azeroth, and Mists of Pandaria
