My boyfriend and I have said this so many times to each other "We're not taking breaks. We're not temporarily splitting up. If you're tired of me, go take a nap. See you in an hour." Taking a break, similarily to polygamy/polyamory and open relationships, is in my eyes just cope and another way of saying you don't know how to be faithful and loyal but too afraid to be single. it's justified cheating which is still cheating.
Right. Like I can see sometimes needing some space, but nothing where it's like "Oh we aren't talking and we can do whatever we want with other people and it should be okay." I think it's more so people want to be selfish where they don't want to let the person they are with go, but they also want to indulge in intimacy with other people. I've noticed that people aren't necessarily scared to be single. They are more so scared the other person will find someone better or not want anything to do with them or they just don't want them to be with other people (yet they are trying to be intimate with other people). It's very hypocritical tbh.
Exactly! Life is too short for that tbh. Right like if breaks were actual breaks... they would last a couple hours. Take some time out to cool off and come back. Not taking whole weeks and months. Cuz all I'd be thinking is "Do you like me or not to have this much space and time away from me? Cuz we wasting ACTUAL time." 😭😂😂
Totally agree! Breaks to me basically mean you can’t commit right now, which means you’ll never be able to commit consistently until you learn how to. You can have space from me ofc, as we all need it from time to time but if you need a break from me just break up with me. Don’t play with my emotions or string me along, that stuff is so painful
Exactly! They aren't ready for a commitment and still want to do single life things. Right. Just end things and rip the band aid off because taking breaks are inconsiderate. You'll just be left wondering and anxious while they're doing whatever they want without a care or even thinking about how you feel.
I dont agree at all. I told someone just this week i wanted a break i luv her to death but if we dont take a break we are going to argue till someone goes too far. I am thinking it can be healthy because i didnt even think abiut exploring other options.

Once you take a break. It's over. Life has no breaks. If I need a break from you, I go play playStation then after we continue the program

Mm I think it just depends on the situation when it comes to taking breaks and the people involved. Hopefully it works out for you guys tho. 💕
