This has to be one of the most beautiful yet tragic songs about a man killing his lover, as his lover begs him to spare his life.

I believe Bernard Sumner has been using autotune for a few years.
It was mentioned in a biography of either Bernard Sumner's, or another book written about new order.
A mate of mine who lives in Macclesfield
Also told me this about 10 years ago.
He also has met Hooky a few times and so have I back in 2010.
My mate in Macclesfield also went to Phil Cunningham's house and met his
American Wife.
I really liked Barney on studio work, but I ain't saying he's a great singer and playing a guitar at the same time.
I just think he ain't gonna improve at his age.
He could never really sing in tune going back to the early stages of new order.
It was part of being a musician with a punk background and style..
New order music is different from Joy Division songs.
I am sure every band would agree that autotune is more professional and being able to stay focused on vocals.
I still like new order's music, but best to remember seeing them with Hooky is the same with a key to your house or car.

Bernard, also has been looking after his health, so he can't handle the booze before playing live.

1963 should only be played by the original band. Phil and the other guy on bass don’t deserve this privilege
@pyrtwist Yes but Peter Hook is in the wrong body...so I think there's not much to complain here.
@connermal Hooky, Bernard, Gillian and Steve need to sit down and talk and forgive each other and resume.. I often thought that Gillian should return and they keep Phil but never imagined Hooky would leave.
Despite what they have all been through and said.
I can't see Hooky, rejoining the rest of new order in 2021.
I believe there more going than we ( fans) will ever find out the truth.
I don't care anymore.

Just the way Cunningham stands... the way he mugs... the way he poses to heighten the "drama" of what he is playing... everything about him and anyone who would be onstage with him... destroys everything this band ever accomplished...
