Very beautiful. The stroke of genius that most impressed me was Serper's realization that his two pawns on c5 and d5, plus the penetration to the eighth rank by his Rook, would overcompensate for his substantial material deficit. Black's Queen had been effectively denied participation in any attack on White's Kingside, which forced Black to defend against White's incursion with badly placed pieces.
Mato with one of the best comments ever, "....is it going to be the English opening, definitely maybe..."!!!!! I have watched many online chess analysis presenters, and Mato is simply the best of them all as far as clarity, and hitting on all the key points of the game mixed with some timely humor! He reminds me of Trevor Denman the thoroughbred racehorse caller when he was on top of his game. Just the best!
Mato put this up a year ago but I'm replaying it now and cannot see why at 3.54 black queen takes the B5 pawn. Moving instead to B7 avoids losing the rook. At this moment black has a knight and a bishop for 2 pawns!
I've gotten into the habit of clicking like on matojelic's videos before the game has even started. Such is the excitement I feel when he puts up a new one! Excellent game.
The Knight sacrife on D5 aligned 2 passed ponds on the 5th rank that allowed intense pressure buildup and greatly weakend B5 in the process. Whites pieces were then able to enter the game at will. Mato, this was a very fun watch!
Follow up question was there a better alternative for black other than capturing the Knight? Seems like a case of over extending your pond lines, especially in the case of the B pond.
I am a subscriber, and I really enjoy this channel a lot, but if you claim it to be the best chess teaching channel, you must have a poor rating bro... It's pure entertainment though... ;-)
Maybe....but I've watched some hardcore teaching channels and got bored to death. So if people learn better from this channel then arguably it is a better teaching channel for them - regardless of a rating that is a bit meaningless really for those who play casually and just like to learn a few tactics.
And if after ...Kxf2 Qd2+ Kxd2 Nf4+ winning the queen back then one of those pawns with the rook's support will make it to the 8th rank. After Nxe6 then I suppose ...c6 is too strong?
@@georgeapostolakis4164 don't feel stupid, you asked because you wanted to understand and now you do! If you always feel badly after you move from confusion to understanding you may wish to remain confused!

Mato's video with Francis's comment -- a perfect day!
You are one eloquent chess-commentating mofoka, mofoka.
Mato picks really striking games to highlight. Games that have unique lessons in them. I feel blessed to be able to follow them and comment on them.
sure. I think it's enjoyable and almost always accurate, cheers.
What I like the best is how after your analysis and alternate moves you say "back to the game" others keep getting me lost.
Thank you

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but time and chance happen to them all.
Beautiful game with edifying commentary from a generous teacher. Thank you.

Hi. After Qa6 then Kxf2. What then for black? No more checks!
And if after ...Kxf2 Qd2+ Kxd2 Nf4+ winning the queen back then one of those pawns with the rook's support will make it to the 8th rank. After Nxe6 then I suppose ...c6 is too strong?
