Dear GM Smirnov I’m a fan of yours & really enjoy your videos. This game by Tal is an instructive example of how Tal mobilizes his pieces & locks in on weaknesses in his opponent’s camp, using relentless tactics. Could you please do more videos on the games of Tal? Thank you!
I try my best to play like Tal. He's my favorite player since I discovered RUclips. I used to play normal classical chess, but I found Tal's attacking style brilliantly ridiculous.

It is amazing how in chess you can be pretty much pinned down and ready to resign but make one last possible move and your opponent makes a small error and you can end up winning!
Thank you Igor, great video and I always learn from your chess content. Lots of amazing tactics in this one and it is clear I need to continue practicing puzzles every day to spot these types of things.
T'was like watching a chess surgeon opening up the opponent individual ribs to expose the heart of the defense. I find myself convicted of envy but hoping to absorb some of the genius. Thanks for the lesson.
positional play is the most important aspect in chess. Material in the game are only as useful as the end itself. In that sense the end of the game is not whether it was a win or a loss, [wins and losses are always present in games] but how far you brought your material toward the end goal. This is chess... not whether you win or lose
Something I've noticed about players like this who make sacrifices is that they put a lot of priority on restricting certain key pieces of their opponents. For example in this game, Tal restricted the knight on d2, making white's play very awkward. Sometimes, to attack, you first have to remove defensive options!

Hey guys whats your opinion on 5:45 Dark Bishop of black takes pawn on g2 to check king then king or queen takes Bishop then knight takes e4 attack queen or king
Can you please tell why in kings indian defence when black plays f5 white do not take on f5. And knight a6 is the move in kings Indian defence but why if you have e5 and knight c6.please reply
Nc6 in the kings indian doesn't work with the strategy of the opening, as you want the knight to control or land on the c5 square, meaning that Na6 or Nd7 work for that, but Na6 is more flexible because it doesn't block the bishop unlike Nd7, and it also controls b4 from there which could be an important square. If you play Nc6 it could just be kicked by the white pawn and you practically lose the tempo. When black plays f5, white doesn't take, because taking opens up blacks pieces against the white king. The main idea of the kings indian is to attack white on the kingside, and white taking on f5 would open up the black rook, and allow black to capture with his bishop and improving it. It is also more important for white to develop their own piece instead of taking an giving black a free tempo of development for his bishop.
Buenos días. Sus explicaciones son excelentes, gran maestro; por esto mismo, me extraña que en el vídeo no se hable del pensamiento o la psicología de Tal. Gracias de antemano.
International master: "I invested hours in studying the game, so I'll sit there and play like a PHD." Gran-master: "I was born with a blessing for calculations, so I'll sit there and play like a machine." Tal: "I had a lot a booze, so I'll sit there light a cigarette, and play the asshole." And it works.

Thanks to the Author for a very interesting and informative video review of the beautiful game of the chess classic Mikhail Tal.

Great stuff! Please bring us more full game analysis like this one!
This was a brilliant attacking game but what were the supposed rules?
¿Duda de Igor Smirnov?
I think the point is to always be looking for a counter attack and push forward rather than retreating.
just calculate like an above average GM :)
He pointed them out throughout the video, for instance, noticing the weaknesses and applying pressure on those weaknesses
The best defense is the attack ain't?
Amazing game , thanks GM Igor sir 🎉❤. It's surprising to see how in olden days without computers ,AI machines humans played brilliantly 😊
As usual I liked your commentary (which has a mix of real chess knowledge and humour ) and Tal's creative attack! - thanks again.
TAL one of the very greatest
the "getting ready for the next game" comment was so beautiful i love you
General Tal is my Favorite ♟️ Player of all times! The attacking General! Thank you nakama friend Shalum!

Tal in chess is like Tyson in box, so brutal fatality like in mortal combat!
Great leacture in using pins
Thanks you for teaching us for free ❤
It's good to see someone making chess content for free but with this one he's just promoting his course and I'm not against that

Nicely explained sharp sight of great Tal,thanks.
one grandmaster was playing with tal and wore sunglasses to avoid tal's evil eye he lost anyway😂😂
Tal played every game like it was his last which in his case was very true as he died quite young.

Tal and Smirnov...my GOAT GMs in teaching chess 😅
@gmigorSmirnov - Can you show a video on how to refute English opening as Black - This would help me to prepare against this opening

Mikhail Tal is the bessttt!!!
My dream game would be Tal at his best against Vassily Ivanchuk at his best. Unfortunately, that is not possible.
Both can b reborn a bot

Great match, but what about the rules?
what is the rule?
real.
Nobody knows, not even Igor
try reading: creates threats, exploits his opponent's weaknesses, and keeps activating his pieces
@@Flickit100 hey Waldos: creates threats, exploits his opponent's weaknesses, and keeps activating his pieces
I love how computers always want you to capture a pawn instead of blow up your opponent's position.
what if instead taking g4 with the bishop white takes with the queen?
Buenos días. Sus explicaciones son excelentes, gran maestro; por esto mismo, me extraña que en el vídeo no se hable del pensamiento o la psicología de Tal.

Rule no 1of Tal: never underestimate your any piece.
Tal's rule = positionally pressure opponent's weakness
International master: "I invested hours in studying the game, so I'll sit there and play like a PHD."
Gran-master: "I was born with a blessing for calculations, so I'll sit there and play like a machine."
Tal: "I had a lot a booze, so I'll sit there light a cigarette, and play the asshole."
And it works.
Why not taking this knight with queen not bishop? If taken by queen, the Tal attack would not work?
Even spartans would afraid of tal's strategic attack 😂😂
Mr. Burns
lol
So what was the rule?

When Rook takes f3, can't white Queen be sacrificed by taking Rook on f8? Or is that even worse for white?

Please, tell us the Tal's rules.
