    Dear Jenny, that’s the first time I hear anyone criticizing a military print trend. As a Ukrainian, it means so much to me! Knowing how many great people have been killed or wounded on the battlefield wearing a military uniform, it breaks my heart to see people wearing it as a fashion choice. Military print is not a joke and a massive trigger for those affected by wars

    Oh, Jenny, don't give up on tie dye! It's great for extending the lifespan of any clothing item. Any angry stains, discoloration can be hidden under a tactful tie dye job (and tie dye can be easier done at home than a perfect solid dyejob) plus it can be a fun activity. You can do patterns, multiple colours, the sky is the limit. One of the reasons why I focus on only buying natural fibers - so I can fix them if something happens 😅

    I personally like knee length skirts, but wider that the examples in this video. The reason is that I wouldn't look good in a total mini skirt (big bottom :)) and it looks way more classy if my skirt has couple more cm. Everything depens on the body type :)

    Tech wear is an awesome minimalist alternative to the military style, and honestly more stylish. As for bags, I carry the same bag year round, year after year. It's a mid-size vegan crossbody because I need free hands.

    So interesting! I agree metallic is everywhere right now, but I also think it's a bit of a classic thing... like I am seriously considering some silver footwear of some kind because I feel like I'll be able to wear it for a while? But maybe I'm wrong. On the other hand, I think you look amazing in oversized blazers, but I personally can't wait for the trend - which I think it is! I'm surprised you think it's a classic! - to go away. It's just too much for me.

    Absolutely agree on the military fashion trend! But we shall not forget that A LOT of classic fashion items, just as the trench coat, for example, have their origin in military wardrobe. Because in war times, as so many people (men) were wearing uniforms and such, the fashion world got heavily influenced by that. Also I think, that sometimes military and utilitarian style lines blur. What do you think?

    • @lelexoxo303
      @lelexoxo303 Год назад +4

      Personally, I love midi skirts of around knee length.
      Mini skirts are too short to be comfortable imo, while maxi skirts have no shape at all and mostly look like baggy sacks on me. And I generally find maxi skirts boring, I feel like a medieval nun in them with 0 skin showing. Midi skirts are my happy in-between.

      @@lelexoxo303 I like both maxi and knee lenght dresses. Midi dresses make my short legged self look quite short overall and minis don't work for me because I've got quite a big butt and that makes them even shorter plus I hate sticking to the chair when sitting down. But it all comes down to proportion. Other people look best in midi and mini skirts.

    I really like knee length skirts, they make me feel elegant like office chick. I never really enjoyed wearing miniskirts they make me very self conscious and since I'm so short maxi skirts were always too long and I hate walking in them because I feel like the fabric wraps around me legs and I'm going to stumble. So skirts around knee length are for me 😃

    I have been into florals my whole life, so usually that is what I wear most (vintage 70s styled sundresses and such). Simple black, floral, or gingham dresses delight me. The new cottagecore trend is totally how I have always been.
    The armourcore is odd for me and I don't like military stuff to wear as well. Anything that promotes warfare and such is. . .ugh. Over a decade ago, my mom used to buy my now older children camouflage clothing because my dad was in the Army and thought it would be nice for him, but I told her to stop because I am anti war and a major pacifist. I had used what was given to me at the time, but put my foot down when she kept going at it after a couple of years.
    I love the lounge pieces by Organic Basics you are wearing. They are very nice. I just gave birth and will be in this awkward stage of getting back to normal and those look like things that could help as I transition to my normal size again.

    I'm very much in love with this variation of tie-dye, but I tend to wear a lot of pattern, so something like that reads more neutral for me and I already have a few good pieces and don't need more. I love the metallic too but it gets hot and I need my clothes to breathe. Ngl, I wasn't expecting your hot take on knightcore/military inspired stuff but I enjoy a lot of fashion history content, and between innovation and surplus a lot of the ways people have interact with that type of clothing is usually less glorification and more practicality (though I do also enjoy the former in a Renfair, RPG sort of way, so I get associations matter.) Still, I don't have much interest in it or any of the rest that I see them as something I'd actually want to add.
