2:27 that would be your ps pump. They squeak like that either when low on ATF(not ps fluid) or a little less agressive if the bearing is going bad.
I had power steering issues a few months back. I replaced the belt because it was badly torn & I refilled fluid & pumped it through the system. I bet since I didn’t use atf that could’ve been why. I never knew they used atf & not power steering fluid
@@MadiJamesZ32 id drain and refill asap. The seals used in the pump are for atf. When using another seal it causes it to wear much quicker and will be prone to leak.
Powersteering fluid has been known to nuke pumps on the z :)
I’m working on it now 😅 it’s only been about 5 weeks since I did the power steering refill & Its definitely leaking like crazy underneath the car on the rack so draining it as we speak & refilling with proper fluid 👏 you’re brain is an amazing tool & I thank you a bunch good sir 👏👏
To be honest, I'm surprised this channel doesn't have more subscribers/views. Pretty rare to find videos on later model Z restorations. Makes me want to buy a Z31 for my first car!

yeah that PS pump is on the way out sadly. na and tt are dif, youll want to find one specifically for non turbo chasis. easy swap though. just time consuming. as is everything with the z32. but totally worth it. smiles per gallon high .>=]
headsup, the z32 p.s pump runs off atf, non ps fluid. odd as shit i know, but if you add ps steering fluid, instead of ATF, youll destroy your pump. z32 ps systems run off automatic transmission fluid, again, i know odd as fuck. ibut this is for all nissan z32;'s.
That’s what a couple people have been telling me. I just replaced the belt on it because I shredded it from sending it a lil too hard around a turn 💀 I noticed I had steering issues after that like squeeking when turning so I tightened the belt & added more power steering fluid. That seemed to fix it for a few weeks but now it’s being funky again 🥲 maybe we just take it to tuner fest how it is & fix it when I get home?
Didn’t realize they used atf? Maybe that could be why it didn’t fix it for long 🤣
