  • It's Thanksgiving, and this year we're thankful for an awesome new slasher movie from Eli Roth. I'll have seconds please!
This is One Good Scare, the new horror themed RUclips channel from the dynamic duo that is @tripleg_comics and @jamestkeegan!
Join us every second Friday for our live show, appropriately titled "One Good Scare", where we cover the latest horror news, trailers, and merchandise announcements, as well as review the latest spooky cinema releases.
But wait, there's more! On Fridays between our live shows, you can tune in to "I'll Be Right Back", our retrospective video series where we take a deep dive into the murky depths of modern, classic (and often terrible) horror movies.
So grab some popcorn, turn off the lights, and join us on this journey into the unknown, because whether or not it's Halloween, everyone's entitled to… ONE GOOD SCARE!

Omg I can believe sheriff newton doing this is for revenge because of his lover in she had a baby but she got killed. Her hair was struck on a chart wheel

Yeah she had a rough time in the movie 😂. We'll have a spoiler review up later tonight/tomorrow where we break down the killer and kills

Well, considering the original fake trailer was a deliberately sleazy and gory affair (it was made for Rodriguez and Tarantino's Grindhouse, after all), I'm not at all surprised the kills in this movie are meant to be hardcore.

There's even a few scenes directly adapted like the thanksgiving parade and the trampoline scene but doesn't go as hard as them (particularly the trampoline 😂)

Does this really make you nostalgic for the 90's? Because I saw a variety of 90's slasher movies, and I don't recall sadistic things like cooking a fully conscious human being or deliberately freezing them to something just for the joy of watching their flesh tear off upon removal. I'm beginning to think that when I use the expression 'slasher movie', I'm referring to something very different than other people. Like when I got conned into buying Hatchet because they said it was a 'throwback to the Friday the 13th series'....either they were lying, outright, or they saw the Friday the 13th series completely differently than I did....I'd rank the WEAKEST Friday the 13th sequel as FAR better than Hatchet. Anyway, I'll probably buy this when it's available, just because they don't make many movies like this anymore...but I'm not optimistic.

The throwback to the 90s slashers is more so the whodunnit element, the character archetypes and the general tone of the film. Obviously this is an Eli Roth movie so the gore pushes the envelope to an extent.
