- Toccoa loved our two days at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and was sad to leave. We taxi out of our grass camping spot and depart runway 27 for our flight back to Chicago Aurora Airport. Toccoa beats me at Rock-Paper-Scissors and gets to fly us back home.

Such a wonderful video, not that all of your videos are not wonderful though this one has a special place in my heart. Reminds me of when I'd take my son who was probably 10 at the time and I'd turn on the auto-pilot and he thought he was actually flying then one day I did not turn it on and I was amazed at how well he flew all on his own. Also took him to the tower on mid-shifts, gave him a headset and flight strips, he thought he was issuing the clearance to COA jets etc., great memories thanks Kevin.
That's awesome. Reminds me of when I was a little boy and my dad flew a Cessna 172 and would sometimes let me take the controls. You're making great memories for both of you!!!

Your son's question on the landing gear down and able to fly, was a good one . I never knew that you could actually damage the landing gear at higher speeds.

This one gives me so many memories Kevin. My dad used to pick me and my brother up in Rome Ga @Russell Field we lived in Rome Ga. We would fly to Athens Ga where he lived at that time. I was about your sons age and he would give me the yoke and tell me to fly the airplane. Tragically my dad passed away when I was very young so he never got to teach me to fly. Aviation is in my blood I love it! If there is a airplane or helo overhead I have to stop what im doing and watch it until its out of sight. Thanks for sharing Kevin and bringing back all these memories!

I wish I could have experienced that unfortunately No, in addition I have developed after a bad in between during a flight from Paderborn in Lower Saxony to Mallorca very extreme fear of flying and can not even enter an airfield without panicking and sweating. I always wish you a good flight

My ten year old grandson took off and landed a 172 while I sat in the back seat. The EXCELLENT pilot was awesome in his instructions, while I nervously sat with my granddaughter next to me. After the flight, he said he would like to be a pilot. I wish I would have gotten the young pilot's name. Note: He had full control of everything.
