    It's crazy isn't it. Jokes end up being funny because they come off wrong which is why it's funny. Making light hearted fun of things even some more dark or twisted subject matter can be just funny. It's a way people do like to cope with darker subject matter. When you can make fun of something and take it less serious it's much easier to both connect people and find humor with it. It's why people who are soldiers or are doctors tend to enjoy dark humor as to lighten the mood since if its taken so seriously it can very quickly become depressing.

    • @CRIMSON-FLAME1
      @CRIMSON-FLAME1 9 месяцев назад +9

      Dark humor used to be normal but to many people are to into their feelings these days. It used to be people were desensitized but now it's been taken to the opposite extreme which is being way into your feelings to where you can barely say the word stupid without getting completely Karened by a man or a woman. I guess we can just say social justice warrior. I also believe the whole pronoun thing is annoying as well. If you don't understand that somebody's trying to respect you with the words yes mam or yes sir then I would say you have a identity issue and people will joke around about that as well. Jokes are supposed to be funny and come from left field so the punchline hits hard and end up being funny.

    I feel like this segment was honestly still pretty lame. I think a lot of people confuse the idea of being "soft" with simply not finding shock value race humor entertaining. I personally just dont find it interesting or witty and i think many others feel the same. Compare it to the standup crowd work of someone like stavros and youll see that this is just much more boring. Or look at how Shane Gillis approaches comedy with disabled people - the punchline is never so boring as "disability funny". This skit is literally just them trying to say things which sound a little racist for shock value. Thats it. Thats the entire joke. For every single joke. Over and over.
    I see a lot of people now who seem to think the peak of comedy is basically just "n-word funny". The closer you get to saying the n-word, the funnier your "joke". If you dont agree with them then they cope by saying its not that their humor isnt very interesting or funny, its just that you're "soft". I feel like the comedy in this clip kinda is pretty close to that.

    I love offensive comedy, just because being allowed to be vulnerable is to be genuine, and allowing risks results to funnier jokes. It’s the only reason South Park has survived over 25 years.

    I remember when the entire show was that funny, and not just a once-a-year skit.
    That being said, this also proves they can actually do real comedy but are being instructed/coerced not to.

  • @gingerbread_GB
    @gingerbread_GB 4 месяца назад +1

    Comedy is about intent. If your intent is just "look at this, this is funny," then you can poke fun at whatever resembles reality. If your intent is "look at this, this shows I'm better than you," then it's an insult. This skit works because they are exchanging lines, so the audience won't perceive any real ill intents.

    This was the exact type of comedy I grew up with in the 2000s. It's offensive comedy. It's fine to get "offended" by it aslong as you realise at the exact same time that it's a joke and there is nothing malicious behind it. All jokes involved race and gender between a group of different race and gender yet none of them were there attacking each other at the end of it.... Because it's just for comedy it's harmless.
    Sad that wokeness killed comedy. You just don't see things like this anymore

    There's a big difference between making a joke about stupid stereotypes and spreading hate. Nothing wrong whatsoever with joking like this purely to make people laugh!
    It's when such speech becomes malicious that the line gets crossed. That's just f*cked up.

    OK hot take: humour is a defense mechanism against horrible stuff, so making a dark joke or laughing at it doesn't necessarily mean you agree with the topic. I don't condone grape or racism, but these jokes can be pretty funny because of the shock factor

    TL;DR: Object permanence
    I hate seeing stuff like this (bear with me) because people act like this stuff hasn't been around for ages, this isn't a new skit they've been doing this for over 6 years.
    Comedy like this hasn't died, it never did, it just stopped showing up on you recommended.
    Please try to take this into account next time you write something off as "dead" or "nobody makes the good stuff anymore". Most the stuff you're into you just haven't found yet or stop getting shown.

    The reason this is funny as hell is because the jokes are actually funny and the swapping bit only makes it funnier because the offensive jokes make the teller cringe. I find most dark jokes unsavory because most of them aren’t actually funny by themselves, but they’re relying on the offense to make it seem funnier to people who aren’t part of the group.

    • @disguiseddv8ant486
