Great review- Quick question. How much up range for bigger surf would the round tail / quad option provide? Could you see the round tail working in the solid stuff?
The round tail is amazing man!. I live in Bali and it goes great in everything up to double overhead, even on the really sucky / slabby breaks it gets in nice and early and I find myself reaching for the Phantom over my Ghost or Tank 90% of the time, even when the waves are solid. Just make sure you order custom because the stock dims are ridiculously wide. I ride a custom 6'1", 19 1/2, 2 5/8 for my 92kgs at 6'2" and I wouldn't trade it in for anything. We're spoiled here in Bali with most surf cos having factories on the island. I've been through so many boards over the years from CI, JS, Chili, Pyzel, Christenson, Album, local shapers, but this is the only model I keep coming back to and have a new one made every season.
A little late but I got this as my second short board and it’s a lot more forgiving and paddles better than my first. It generates a lot of speed for a short board as well especially if you run large fins in it
first....i hope you do review on the shadow xl. i hear that the xl is really different than the regular one.. because i cant ride in my waves the shadow.phantom is great one
@@soulsurfer3102 no worries, I actually just picked up a second red tiger, it’s a really sick board. My first one is a little shorter/wider/thicker and just picked up a new one that’s longer and more refined so it’s better for traveling
Interesting how it compares with the Happy Everyday
