Agreed. I’m the same way. If I hear something that sounds like domestic violence, or I witness something, I will intervene, and call the cops. My wife doesn’t like that I’m that way. She’s ok with me calling the police, but she doesn’t want me to intervene. She’s obviously worried about my safety. You never really know what you’re walking into. She doesn’t want our kids growing up without a father. I understand and appreciate that, however, if Im already on scene, I may be able to save someone’s life or prevent things from getting worse. Who knows what could happen while waiting for law enforcement. I had many female friends when I was younger, that were in relationships that turned abusive. They all knew to call me if that happened. I had a couple extra rooms in my house and I would move them in to provide a safe place for them so they could leave their abuser, or I’d go over and have a “talk” with the guy.

I once lived in an apartment in college as a single woman. My friends (2 guys and a girl) and I came home late one afternoon and there was screaming. My upstairs neighbor stood in the window mouthing “help me” and she looked scared for her life. My friends wanted to ignore it, but I called 911 and the cops were there within minutes. Guy was arrested for DV and that girl came down and hugged me and kept saying “you saved my life”. I still cannot believe my friends (especially the guy) were going to ignore her. I never saw the guy again, so I’m assuming he went to jail. The girl moved out a few weeks later

I distinctly remember a news story about a child who had seizures- like all day long... this was when Colorado had legalized MMJ. So her family went and tried it (I think it was a CBD tincture of some kind, but I believe it also contained THC.)
Anyway- the results were so dramatic that they moved the whole family to CO. The child went from having seizures all day long, to 1 or 2 (and I believe sometimes none.) Anyone who would withhold such a lifesaver just bc they think some ppl are "using it as an excuse" is a POS, imo.

My daughter travels for work. A few years ago, she and her coworkers were in a hotel in Arizona. They were exhausted from jet lag and events for work. The first night they got no sleep because of noise from the room next door. They THOUGHT it was a porn movie that the guest next door was watching...at first. After realizing it was not a movie because the same scenario but slightly different dialogue was experienced the 2nd night. My daughter composed a friendly note requesting that the female reduce her volume because "while YOU might be enjoying your sleepless nights, other guests are NOT enjoying it with you ". She said that several other guests had heard the couple as well and they all complained to the front desk. My daughter took a picture of the note and sent it to me....I just laughed at the creative wording my 17 year old had composed. Whenever I need a good laugh, I pull it up in my phone and read it just to lighten my mood.

The lawyer just testified that the kid has epileptic seizures and was currently approved for medical marijuana. So the POS judge gives him some BS about going down the wrong path"???? Obviously the judge needs to learn to listen and pay attention to what goes on in his court or he's so wrapped up in his own ignorance, bias, and prejudice that he is unable to make sound, fair judgements. He needs to be off the bench.
I turn 70 this year and haven't been near marijuana in 40 years, but the fact that in the 21st century, with most states legalizing or decriminalizing pot, and nearly everyone accepting Medical Marijuana as legitimate treatment for seizures, there are still judges running courts who are this out of touch with reality, is just appalling.

Again, I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and had 3 surgeries within that time to save my life, one of them was cutting me open from the bottom middle of my rib cage to my right hip and multiple organs had to be worked on. The kid with epilepsy looked like he was recently diagnosed with it. I had a girlfriend 40 years ago that was diagnosed at 21, just after we started dating. First I noticed was actually during sex. It was quite the ride until it passed and I was finally able to "unplug". Went to doctor to see what happened. When he told her it was epilepsy and filled her in on what to expect it actually connected some dots for her, turns out she had been having them in her sleep for years. She would wake up in the morning with bruises on her body, sometimes with blood on her face and pillow from her face hitting the headboard. For the first few years she had the same look that kid had. It's from not knowing when the next seizure is. It took her a couple of years to learn the "aura" that would happen minutes prior to the seizure happening. Perhaps if judges could experience what it is like to be in constant apprehension of your brain essentially hardware rebooting at anytime, anyplace, they may show a bit more compassion. Chances are he ran that day because he recognized some of his triggers. My girlfriend said the worst part was the feeling completely defenceless and fully exposed.

Hm your opinion about Cannabis is something I have to think about and have to bring in balance with your personality.
Especially since you openly drink and "promote" drinking in your streams.
You´re a smart guy, maybe you should do some research about Cannabis and how helpful it can be (opposed to alcohol which only does harm and has absolutely no medical use, but still I don´t condem it).
Btw this comes from a person who neither smokes or drinks. I tried both years ago and it´s just nothing for me but I definitely see the medical potential of Cannabis!
Let people do what they want if it doesn´t hurt anybody (especially if they medicate with it!).
Of course nobody is allowed to drive impaired, but if he has a prescription/card he and a doctor confirms the illness then it´s really great that there are no repercussions.

@@sashamulligan2993 when two of my girls were in Middle School, I'd occasionally have to go drop something off to them that they forgot at home, and everytime I went into the Main Office this one particular secretary was repeatedly snarky towards me. I was always nice and respectful to her and to everyone in the office, and I could not understand why she acted that way. Every single time. For a while, I was thinking, Well maybe it's me; what have I done that I could take accountability for that may cause her to react that way? So I'd search my mind through our different interactions and there was nothing .. I was always kind and respectful. The other ladies in the office would smile at me when I came in, we'd share pleasantries, yet the whole time I'd see that secretary glaring from her side-eye. After a while it started getting on my nerves. I'm the kind of person that can get along with just about anyone; I feel that we all have our quirks, and maybe we are all just a little bit cray-cray at times, but I feel in most cases there is always something, one trait or some part of their personality that I can find in a person to be able to connect with. It drove me crazy that no matter what, she just didn't like me; her behavior towards me never changed, and I started to react a little snooty towards her, as well .. until one day, about a year later, as I was leafing through our small towns local paper, I noticed a picture of her. When I read the article, it said her husband had just passed away after fighting a valiant year-long battle with cancer .. and it all became clear to me. The next week, I went to the school office, bringing with me a small gift bag. She approached me at the counter and asked which of my girls it was for, and as she reached over to take the bag I touched her hand, gave my condolences, and told her it was just a little something for her. She grabbed my hand as tears started streaming down her face, and she came out from behind the counter and gave me such a tight hug as she cried on my shoulder. From that day on, she was a dear friend. A few decades have passed since then, but I will never forget it, because it was a pivotal moment in MY life when I realized that we never know what someone is going through behind the veil. That was the day I became accountable for my perceived thoughts and actions towards another human being; and ever since then, I try always to bear in mind that we never know what situations others are facing in life, what struggles and weight they have to bear.

The young “kid” in the second clip gives my the vibe of being on the Autism Spectrum. My son has Asperger Syndrome, which is now part of the Autism Spectrum, and the way this “kid” behaves (rocking back and forth, easily brought to tears) reminds me of my son when he is in a highly stressful situation. It would also explain his reaction of running to say bye to his daughter, after he failed his UA. It was a totally irrational reaction, but in the mind of someone on the Spectrum, his reaction would make sense.
