I don't know what the Canadian version is, but the US has a website for the Bureau of Labor Statistics and they have the Occupational Outlook Handbook. For other videos you could look there to get an idea. In the US, in 2023, the median pay for craft and fine artists was $52,910 per year, so you could have had a little more 😉 Budget challenges are always fun though, it turned out great!
I don't think you can really put a benchmark price on artists' checks. It varies so much. It depends on so much. And having a smaller budget after having a big budget makes sense. Honestly, I think her 36k is fair. Especially in the beginning, making a bunch is not easy. You could be making 36k for 15 years before you make a break and earn more.
I vote for a professional equestrian next! I think it would be fun, and very unique. This series is so creative, so any career would be cool to see! Keep it up! ❤❤❤
This turned out really cute! At first I thought, "why r u paying to build the structure when u likely wouldn’t be building a warehouse apartment but renting it?" But I realized that people do buy those kinds of apartments/ condos so, even though they wouldn’t be building it like a suburban house, it made sense to pay for what had already been built. ❤
I am curious to see what you would come up with for a politician’s home. Maybe an oval office and a secret room for hosting secret meetings! Thanks for your videos 😊
On the top floor I would have put the bathroom next to the stairs and have the bed by the balcony, but the open concept bathroom was such a fun idea! It really gives the vibes that this artist cares more about their studio than their living space and I think it’s so fitting ❤
I’m so sorry but the idea of an open bathroom is just so nasty to me lmaoooo but I know places like NY might actually have apartments like that so it’s actually realistic.
@@scorpiussss The only place I've seen one is in an Air B&B in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania lmao I came downstairs and was like yall the upstairs bedroom has a toilet in it haha
As an artist myself, I love the build. My only comment would be on having the bright white canvases on the floor beside the sink. It’s just not a safe place to store them. 😅
Why is that the design u imagine? R u maybe thinking a British equestrian type thing? As a Texan who’s been around horses and horse-people, I’ve never seen an all white decor style. They’re usually people who like wood and natural tones, often rustic but not always. Or was that sarcasm?…🤔
I'm not a fine artist, but im a digital artist, and I would DIE to live there. I love everything. We love funky colors, interesting shapes, cheap stuff, thrift stuff, and recycled stuff. finding ways to save money is an exercise in itself. We have to be creative in all aspects. I loved every second of this.
new subscriber here - i love how receptive you are to feedback! last video i read a comment about how you shouldn’t use chatgtp to figure out these salaries and here you are doing your own research with human answers. i’m obsessed with this series and it makes it even better with how much you care :)
Pls consider a tech related profession like a software engineer or something?? Would love to see how you express their routines into a space they're living in. Been loving this series anyway!! Great job
As an artist I have a tip. When you put the easel it should be a little to the left or right of the still life and a little diagonally so you can see what you are painting. When the objects are exactly behind the easel you are not able to look at them while painting. Even the creators of the game made this mistake in the ready rooms in the building mode :P
I’m guessing the reason there’s a woodworking bench with the kit is for artists who build their own stretchers (the wooden structure/skeleton to wrap the canvas around)!
It would be fun if you did a shape-challenge sometime! Like the normal shapes - square, triangle, circle, rectangle. And also shapes like a star, heart, christmas tree, flower, hexagon and so on!😍
this challenge came up on my recommended and i’m so happy!! i’ve found a simmer that i love hearing talk and does badass builds lol. love your content!
Imagine someone coming up the stairs to use the bathroom and you're just standing in the way getting ready, like "I'll move in a minute I just have to finishish getting dressed!" 😂 Also you should either do a Doctor or a Musisian next.
Imagine being a guest at this house, having diner and you have to go to the bathroom. You’d have to go up two stairs, through a whole messy art studio and someone’s bedroom to find an open plan bathroom 😂
This is seriously one of my favorite lots in the Sims 4. I once renovated this completely and am still obsessed with it 🙈. However it was like 80% CC 🥰
for next budget builds I would like to share a tip with you: place appliances, bed and counters first so you always have those secured and don’t have to do a cheap fridge or stove
When you get to the writer career could you please do cozy cottage vibes!! Like, rural Victorian era stone built kinda situation. Being able to look out the window and see rolling hills and endless trees would be so inspiring for a writer and they can work from home! They could even have a cottage garden to grow their own food.
I believe the logic skill is needed in the sims 4 cause it’s the only skill in the game that acts like intelligence does irl, and I do think that artists are pretty intelligent and sensitive (being one myself) so it makes sense!
I love this series! It’s so creative and props for doing all the research. Thanks for giving us fun facts 😅 Can you make a house for a park ranger (or any excuse to do a safari/animal themed build) ? 😂
When I only had basegame I'd make all my sims painters lol anything artsy cause that's what I wanted to do. I LOVE this build, especially the living room area. I'd like to see a build for a fast food worker. It should be interesting with the budget.
Killed it with the budget honestly! Also I always thought you were Doctor Ashley because you were a doctor and a simmer on the side??? 😅 that’s so funny!
I think you should have built the art studio on the upstairs level. Because If your sim having guests, they have to go trough the art studio, risking the posability to knock over some paint or a drying painting. Downstairs: Kitchen / bathroom Middle: Bedroom / living area Upstairs: art studio But maybe that’s just me.
When you do them I think a rule should be you can only size up or size down plants and pictures unless something obviously doesn’t fit. But like sizing up a cheap tv is a no? Ya know?
Going forward i think you should NOT charge from the budget for the bathroom & either a fridge or stove in the kitchen. When you rent a house/apt you usually have a bathroom & kitchen included. Plus that gives you a bit more money for the build. That's just my thought. I LOVE this series!
but aren't these supposed to be houses the people can buy, not rent? I totally agree that in apartments, kitchen and bathroom stuff should be included (that's how it is in the sims 3 actually) but for this challenge it's about trying to afford a whole house with just that budget
@@kapsicanhouses still come with most kitchen appliances and bathrooms appliances she would just have to charge her self for any out of the box designs and decore
@@miracleburrell5899 but you still have to pay for them tho? sure they might be in there but they're not free. this is not a decorating challenge, it's a build challenge
Funny how everyone is bothered by the lack of curtains in the bathroom while I didn't notice but was freaking out about the canvases there. Moisture and art do not mix at all. 😂 But it is the beauty of the sims. No moist and no peeping tom.
I have to be honest...I'm not a fan of the open bathroom concept, even in the Sims lol It's just not my thing. But the rest of the building is absolutely flawless. I love it!

Doctor, only seems fitting for doctor Ashley!

Hygge writer!!
hell yes!
Writer's house needs a fireplace and a fluffy rug and candles and lots of bookcases and a big bay window to sit and watch the rain
This would be so cute!!! Lots of candles and book shelves 😍
Right! On a lake? 🤌🏾
We definitely need a farmer!! With all the cottage living and horse ranch stuff!

She needs to see this for the next video
I think in the beginning for this build, she started out higher but then adjusted down because of materials costs and possible gallery commissions
My senior year of high school my teacher had to look at that website to gather insight into careers. It's actually very informative and detailed!
Bump it up so she can see it

How is your name doctor Ashley and you haven't done a doctor's house yet!? 😂 I vote doctor next
Okay I am fine with the bathroom open concept but please some curtains for privacy would be nice 🙈
An interesting one could be a daycare owner. I don't think I have ever seen you build a kids' space.
I like this! I don’t often see people build dedicated kids spaces but it’s one of my fav things to buildz
Love this idea. Like the daycare is run from the home - that would be amazing to see what ideas would work!
